Official PSVita/PSP chat thread

If I have a hardwired internet connection at home for the PS3 would I be able to cross play/remote play or do I need to have wifi on the PS3 too? I’d guess that would work as long as I am somewhere with a wifi spot for the Vita itself, but want to be sure before spending the money. Thanks :coffee:

Wired remote play works for Vita (I haven’t tried it myself)

I checked the front page and a few of the more recent pages, but to no avail - Any reliable place to get a EU PS Vita? I want one with 3G unlocked. =(

It is a little bigger than the PSP 1000, so if you are fine with PSP, you will be fine with Vita. The buttons on Vita, are smaller than PSP though.
I haven’t had any problems with the size.

PSPgo-my hands cramp after extended use, like more than 30 minutes. Plus has sharp edges.
3DS-my hands cramp just like PSPgo, I’m picking up that Circle Pad Pro, and probably keeping it on the unit all the time.

I would not put an attachment on the Vita, but it would be cool if there was a Stick Dock for fighting games (patented).

I picked mine up from play-asia
$550
3G unlocked Vita
Uncharted
Accessory Pack-4GB memory card, screen protector, wrist strap, leather case, screen wipe towel. It is the Hong Kong model, but says out of stock right now.

I had no problem handling my old 1000 with the Logitech clam shell case (we all know which one). I’m gonna have to invest in either a clam shell case or the Dual Shock handles for my Vita. More than likely I’ll get the one with the extended battery.

Thanks much - I’ll take a look and keep an eye on future availability if I can’t find it elsewhere soon.

I see cheaper prices on ebay with Uncharted, but don’t know if it is the exact same bundle I bought. Just know that all the ones in Hong Kong are unlocked version.

I would take the cheaper price, over the bundle I bought.
$460 with free shipping for Unlocked 3G console only, but for another $70 you can get a package with Uncharted and a 4GB memory card with it.

The case I got with it sucks, I don’t like it. It is that one they made a big deal about.

I’d rather have the neoprene sleeve the PSP 1000 came with. I’m buying another case soon.

So, my boy swings by the house and brings me Uncharted: Golden Abyss to check out. I crack it open, and there’s the game, with no manual. Now I’m saying, my boy just paid about $51 or $52 total for the game. Are you telling me that Sony couldn’t have included a simple physical game manual? The damn case even has a slot for it! This is some half-ass shit from Sony. Who cares if the manual’s in the game, there are some of us that still like to have and read them. Would’ve been nice to do so, seeing that the damn system doesn’t come out until next week.

They are going Green!

Yeah, I prefer having the manual too, even if I don’t read them for the most part. NES days I read the manuals front to back several times, but I was only getting 1 game every few months. I like how Capcom does the full color manuals too, over the Black & White pamphlet showing me what a controller looks like.

I would bet a majority of people do not read manuals, and they probably know that.

I only have two words for that manual shit Sony pulled.

“Dats ghey.”

I kinda want Vita. All my consoles got stolen in Nov, and I didnt replace the PS3 (I had a 60 and said Id never have a lesser one) so I kinda want a Sony product. But I have bad memories of the PSP, basically shittier versions of PS2 games, with less content, and worse graphics. I’d always sell a PSP then a game I wanted to play would come out, and I’d buy one for that game, and sell it, in a cycle.

Got my hands on a Vita (a friend let me try it out). Quick impressions:

[LIST]
[]Really nice-looking screen. I tried the camera and a tutorial where you had to touch buttons in order.
[
]It’s about the same length as a vanilla PSP, and a bit taller. I don’t know why Sony went back to having a large handheld. They went backwards on that design aspect IMO.
[*]Even though the Vita is large, the face buttons got smaller. o_O

That’s all I got. Overall, I don’t plan on getting a Vita anytime soon. There are some things that really bother me about it, namely the proprietary memory card issue.

I’m really digging my Vita. Little Deviants (came witht he 1st edition bundle) seems to be tailor made to show off all the features of the Vita. The first level has you using the back touchpad, another level has you using the camera. It’s pretty cool. I downloaded a TV show (Touch Pilot since it was free) and it looks really nice on the screen. I like the size and heft, not too large and not too heavy yet doesn’t feel like a cheap toy in my hand either. I love the screen. I just got my state tax return so I’m going to wait for Sunday to see if Target does that the b2g1 free deal. I’m downloading the Uncharted demo, and can’t wait to try it.

Check out Welcome Park, it should be already installed on there. It goes through the functions, plus if you meet certain goals you get trophies.
It has one that is pretty cool, you take a picture of something, then it breaks it up and scrambles the pieces. You can select the amount of pieces you want to break it down in a grid. You have 1 empty space to slide a piece over to move other pieces. Imagine a 4x4 grid up to much bigger than that, all spots on grid occupied except one.

Anyone know if any good RPGs are lined up for the Vita?

Tales of Innocence R is the only big one I know of, a remake of the DS game.

If you own certain games or DLC for PS3, you can dl the Vita version for free

Too bad this won’t work for my copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma…

The manuals are still there. I haven’t got mine yet but in game you can pull them up in a PDF format. Tap the ? icon and it opens them up.

Damn, that Ultimate Controller mode is pretty cool. I think it would be best for Madden or NCAA, that way they could never see your plays. Kind of like NFL2K on Dreamcast, but more up to date.
Went to UPS to go pick up my games I ordered from Amazon, Wipeout & Hot Shots. I’m waiting on the Target B2G1 before I buy anything else, hopefully they stock this Sunday for the launch on Wednesday.
