Why is Crisis Core not in that list?
I think I remember Lumines being something of a PSP breakout hit.
The new version for the Vita is Lumines Electronic Symphony. I never really played the game before but puzzle games are pretty addicting so it could warrant a try. Longevity is probably the top factor for me in getting a game next to the quality of the game itself. A game can be amazing, but if I donât feel like playing it again after Iâve beaten it twice or three times, then its probably not a worthy investment. Then again, I think I lose interest in games faster than most tend to.
never heard of it
or maybe the touch screen and pokemon , people saw that and went ape shit.
Got to be trolling.
Final Fantasy VII:Crisis Core starring Cloudâs boyfriend Zach.
oh thats why, not a big fan of the ff series
Zodiac - Lumines is the shit. I have it on the psp but havent really played it much there. I first played it on xbl and to this day no one on my friends list has been able to touch my score. Im the mothafuckinâ champ!
For some reason I always thought that Crisis Core shit was a movie or something, I had no idea it was a game till now.
Even games Iâm not a fan of, I usually know something about them. If Iâm not a fan, I just donât buy it. I usually try to stay on top of all releases. I got a huge backlog between PC, DS, PSP, & PS3.
Advent Children was the movie, Crisis Core was the game, it is an Action RPG. This shows you how Sony fails hard at marketing shit, and why the PSP died out in the U.S. The game is a good game, and graphics are good too. I actually imported a the Limited Edition PSP 2000 Crisis Core bundle, the ones theat were #'d 1-77,777. I think mine is in the 20,000 range, I donât remember itâs on my shelf with some dust on it.
I never played Lumines at all, even on the PSP, but Iâm buying the Vita version.
I was tempted to get Crisis Core since it seemed more âactionyâ, if I recall.(I canât stand turn-based combat in a game, so the majority of japanese rpgs are trash, imoâŠit is only when they implement a purely real-time battle system that I get interested.) I never got around to it though, probably since Iâve been addicted to Phantasy Star Portable 1 and then part 2, then the demo for Infinity.
It would be wonderful if Sega/ST would port PhSP2:Infinity to the U.S., but thatâs truly a lost cause at this point. Iâll be surprised if America EVER sees a new Phantasy Star in the future. Phantasy Starâs only hope would be if some other company (preferably one that has something we like to call âcompetenceâ and âcommon senseâ) were to take it off their hands. If I had my own gaming company, Iâd buy it off Segaâs hands myself. That franchise deserves so much better.
On another noteâ I was interested in actually buying the FF: Advent Children but it seems to have disappeared from existence. I guess companies want to endorse piracy sometimes⊠fine, I am sure Iâll âacquireâ it again in another way. That movie had some bad-ass fight scenes, man. Haha, Iâm not even a fan of the FF franchise but I enjoyed the hell out of that shit. The first movie had almost no redeeming qualities other than the 3d and how hot that female main character is.
You want Advent Children UMD?, because the Blu-ray and DVD are still both available wherever those are sold.

Man, Iâve been scouring the interwebs, and I couldâve sworn they announced a PsVita version of FFXII-2 which has inevitably delayed my purchase of the game on PS3. Can someone confirm Iâm not smoking crack and that they said this or am I just missing something here because I havenât been able to find any news on a Japanese version or even if its being launched with the other launch titles.
Besides that, Iâm going to gamestop today to finally check out this little machine, Iâm hoping that new 3G Bundle is there to for that 300$ Iâm hoping I can put the money down for it.
Only upcoming Final Fantasy for Vita is a X remake (and I donât think thatâs even confirmed yet?). And thereâs probably another Dissidia entry on the way.
I doubt that itâs anything more than an exclusivity window.
Played the Vita in my Gamestop again and Gravity Daze is pretty fun. Melee combo is simple, just mash Square and thatâs it. You can cancel your combo into a roll which is nice. Hopefully the actual game will have more âmechanicsâ wise, but other than that, the gravity shenanigans are fun to mess with.
And previously I mentioned how the buttons are clicky and feel more responsive, the same goes for the D-Pad. The shoulder buttons feel identical to any PSP though. I think the âclickyâ feel of the face buttons and the D-Pad is a good move by Sony because it feels like thereâs a decreased chance of them wearing out compared to the PSP and hereâs why I think this. Iâve owned at least two PSPs before shifting to my last PSP, the Go. The first PSP was my fat one, and that was the one Iâve used the most, Iâve probably used it more than my 2000 and Go combined. Before long, two of the buttons on my PSP started to wear out and at one point before that, the D-Pad started to feel unresponsive but then a miracle occurred and for some reason, it âfeltâ back to the way it was so I dodged a bullet there.
Itâs not only just recently that I came to this theory of mine, I think the reason why two of the buttons on my PSP began to wear out after use, and on top of that, they didnât feel as âfirmâ as before whenever I press them, is due to the way theyâre designed. Compare pressing a face button and a directional button on a PSP-1000, 2000 or 3000 to a Vita. Notice how the formersâ face button/D-Pad âdepressâ to how the latterâs simply âclickâ and doesnât depress as much. With the âclickynessâ of the Vitaâs face buttons and D-Pad, it feels like less pressure is necessary to press a button and direction as opposed to applying pressure on a PSPâs buttons. Also, when youâve used a PSP for as long as I have, which was 4-5 years on my phat, thereâs a chance that itâs face buttons and/or D-Pad will wear out due to how youâve kept pushing down on them for years.
Normally on consolesâ controllers, this wouldnât seem like a problem since you simply buy a new controller. Sure its kind of painful paying $30-$50 for a new controller, but at least itâs not like having to live with a portable systemâs worn out buttons since obviously, portable systemâs donât have controllers. The worn out buttons problem on my phat occurred on its second year of use at around 2006/2007? and I was forced to live with the problem til 2009 when I decided to me to buy a used 2000. I had no problem doing this because I was lucky enough to have relatives give me money for birthdays and Christmases that I just pile up and donât spend for the most part, as well as parents who actually let me keep my own money, but what about those who are only 12-14 or younger? Canât just ask your parents to pay money to get your PSP fixed or to get a new one and for them to say yes. And you can rule out trying to fix it yourself if youâre afraid of breaking it on accident.
So TL;DR, the Vitaâs buttons and D-Pad feel more responsive with its âclickynessâ and it also feels like it wonât wear out as fast as the old PSPs. Shoulder buttons feel the same and I kind of wish they had that âclickyâ quality as well but itâs of little consequence. I just hope my theory is right or else I just spent 10 minutes typing this up looking like Iâm spewing shit out my mouth⊠err fingers.

That Uncharted:Golden Abyss is legit. Now that Iâm off from work, Iâm going to be playing it all weekend. Controls ainât nowhere near as good as using a dual shock, it has some sensitivity options that I tried but just going to stick it out. I have not figured out how to put my PSP games on my Vita either. I hooked it up through USB, but no games showed up. Donât know if we need a North America firmware update. It knew the Vita was hooked up though, because you get a different screen.
It also doesnât allow my Vita to NA PSN, says it doesnât exist.
I donât think anyone would agree with me on this, but if Mirrorâs Edge were to have a sequel Iâd like to see it come to the Vita as well as home consoles.
Also, not a Heavy Rain fan, but I could see how it could be applied to the Vita.
(Also am pretty sure that the FF X remake was a TGS announcement by Sony themselves).
Yeah, Iâm waiting for that store to open (hopefully before the 22nd) so I can get the NA Wipeout. Your ddlâd PSP games wonât work for Vita until then.
I donât like Wipeout but I hope they fixed the framerate.
Why would you care if they fix it, if you donât like it? I heard itâs great, and what I saw looks good. Itâs 30 FPS like all the other Wipeouts besides the PS3 version. $30 on Amazon, getting that shit.
Okay, I thought I might have been doing something wrong. I has hoping and praying Phantasy Star Portable 2 would work, but I couldnât even transfer it over, then I heard itâs not supported on the Japanese Vita either anyway.
Another odd thing. I have synced my trophies and they show up on my Vita under my PSN I.D., but when Iâm on my PS3 they donât show. Hopefully it shows up when the N.A. services come on line.
30 fps isnât a deal-breaker (especially if itâs locked at 30 with no frame drops, as everyone has reported so far), but itâs still a step backwards in gameplay. In WHD those extra frames helped your reaction time in the higher speed classes, when everything just starts to melt together. Itâs no different than Virtua Fighter 1 or Soul Blade compared to the newer VFs or SC series.
I just hate when other sites refuse to look at the framerate as a bad thing. Or when they say it looks better than WHD (like I care about graphics over gameplay). I would hope that a 30 fps game on a âportable PS3â managed to look better than a 60 fps PS3 game.
