THIS alone will make me buy another psp after selling my fat one a while back. The 3000 looks enticing especially since it’s supposed to have better picture quality.

IIRC there are places that do UMD drive repair, but all that ends up being is a drive replacement usually, and I think the prices aren’t worth it(they might be better by now).
You might be better off keeping this one to mod and getting a new 3000. Depends on how ballin you are.
Hey, if you can connect it to a pc and run around inside it’s files, you can find a way to hack ANYTHING. Pc connectivity is ALWAYS the weak spot. My concern about this model is the shorter battery life.
By the way, anybody know of a homebrew mp3 player for the slim that doesn’t screw up or slow down a game when used in conjunction as a poor man’s custom soundtrack?
I got a problem recently. My psp is kinda…er… slow… Especially when it comes to reading cso files. Any tips on these??
i have a PSP Slim 2006. CFW 4.01 m33-2.
^ its probably the memory stick itself. nba live runs slow on one of my sony memory stick(random as FUCK) but it runs perfect 60fps on sandisk MS. I’d say get a new card. or something to do with cso file compression…maybe you should try the original uncompressed iso first.
if your psp isn’t under warranty you’re better off modding it. you’ll get more from selling it to someone than you would in trade in credit.
I’ll get Phantasy Star Portable for sure…a PS game rarely slips by me these days unnoticed. I’ve been behind on the news with that, suprisingly…will that come to the U.S.? I’d guess so…but then I recall PSU wasn’t exactly a “hit” at all here. I bet there’s still people out there today that never even knew the game existed.

*I still haven’t acquired Bleach 5…I should order that this week, since I know that has no chance of being released here. (*Even if CN-aired Bleach was more popular…it’s only up to the Bount era right now. The Heat the Soul games have included Arrancar/Espada characters for quite awhile now.)
I never cared for the Maddens or any other realistic sports game…but a blue PSP looks so nice…that happens to be one of my favorite colors. I would’ve bought dat Madden pack and sold off the game if I didn’t already have this system.
*I dropped my precious PSP for the first time a few days ago…but it’s fine, thankfully. That was stupid to have it sitting there on one leg while I was relaxing in the cubicle at work though…so of course it slid off right to the floor.
I got tired of that one like 4-5 months ago. It’s still pretty boring and slow. The combos don’t connect right, and it seems all you’re really trying to do is build meter so you can unleash the team supers…since regular supers do shitty damage.

Well, I found the right version, installed it, enabled it…then realized music.prx doesn’t work for slim. So, are there any music players that don’t affect with gameplay?
I’m so tempted by both Macross Ace Frontier and Gundam vs. Gundam. Exia is too sexy, but Macross would be a nice change of pace. What to do, what to do…

How was Star Soldier PSP? Was it actually a weak shooter, or was it just too old school for bullet-hell Cave fans to get into?
I’d dissuade everyone who’s going to be getting a 3000. Get a 1001 or 2000 instead. The 3000 comes with 4.00 built into the board, so modding it to CFW is going to be hard as hell.
And CFWs like the only reason the PSP is better than… everything else.
