right, it has no TRUE online play but if you’re willing to shell out a little extra pocket cash for a WiFi max and Xlink kai, you can play MHF2G and just about any other multiplayer game online via tunneling your connection, which is plenty good for me.

The UMD load times might increase because newer games could use the Slim’s extra RAM. I wouldn’t expect that for most games, except for major titles with crazy graphics or epic story. If Sony put out more official games on PS Store (and they’re planning to in the future, a Store portal is in the works for PSP), loading concerns would barely be an issue with Phats (or any other PSP model).
The bigger issue is whether you can find Phat batteries in the future when yours dies out. Sony’s stopped making them (because Phat is obsolete, and most importantly, the batteries are Pandora-friendly)
Honestly I was getting real bored until I heard about the gundam vs gundam port. The hype just came back.
do they still do those ridiculous animations when you’re trying to heal? if so, I think i’ll pass on this one.
I have both from my escapades with MHF1, and it was such a hassle to use just to play one quest; true online play has its advantages, such as smooth and quick use. Xlink Kai (for the PSP) will never have that…
Just curious but why is there a PSP 3000? I mean yeah it fixes a few problems but it’s not nearly the same kind of leap between the 1k and the 2k.
gives the potential for more. for instance when you are using skype as a phone or for normal chat, you don’t have to buy an extra headset and lug it around with you. it’s built in. If you’re playing an online game and it has voice, same thing. It’s right there. Brighter screen and anti-glare helps playing it in the daytime.
We’ll find out the real reason when it’s released (and taken apart).
Actually there’s rumors that you can plug the Dual Shock 3 into the USB port, which makes it even more like a home console.
The microphone is kind of stupid. I think more people will buy the headset anyway for voice chat/Skype, there’s no way the built-in speaker and mic will be perfectly audible if you’re using it in public.

Hm. Finally a reason for me to buy a ps3. Problem is… adhoc + cfw = no fun. One of my friends has a legit MHF and I have a cfw MHF. We can’t play together. It is qutie lame. Might run into version problems when trying to hookup online with people. shrug
What what? I have CFW, and I’ve played with people who were playing with the original, without problems at all…

I think he was talking mainly about people cheating with CWCHEAT and come online 'roided out with S-class armor/weps that didn’t take the time and patience to even appreciate it.
