A number of 'em come around, but not all of the previous ~500.
This game’s a bit more difficult that the last few, but I wouldn’t really call it hard and would say that you could beat it with just about anything you find in-game as long as you have good type coverage. Smogon has a in-game tier list that’ll give you some ideas for stuff that’s more useful (the game favors fast/powerful stuff over bulky/slower for the most part). You’re already past the most annoying gym leaders, so that’s good, and don’t get discouraged if you have to grind some levels, the NPC’s pokes shoot up from time to time.
Also, make sure you catch Victini before April 10 if you haven’t yet, it’s last day the US has to get it through the wifi event. The little card that came with your game can explain how to do it.
Do I have to catch Victini before April 10th or just get the pass before then? I have that victory pass or whatever it is for it.

Breeding pokemon is mad easy from what I’ve learned…
The post-game pokemon are on levels too high to be useful so I just capture and breed them…
Get a ditto from Giant Chasm(internet forums are very misleading, dittos are located in a grassy area that is found after going through the entire Giant Chasm cave area, it’s not the area before entering the cave)
Leave your pokemon(ditto+other pokemon) with daycare…
Bicycle in front of daycare until man calls your name because the time has nothing to do with getting an egg but how many steps you take…
Go somewhere like Marvelous Bridge so you can take the footsteps necessary to hatch egg(use bike)… it’s quite mindless to grind for footsteps in the particular area…

Also, I’ve only used males to breed with Ditto and from what I’ve learned, if the male pokemon you are attempting to breed has 2 abilities, the baby(feels weird to call it that) will have the ability that the parent did not have…
For example, I used a Golduck with the Cloud Nine ability, but the Psyduck that hatched had the Damp ability, this Psyduck that happened to be male was bred with a ditto and I got another Psyduck with the Cloud Nine ability…
I think(do not know for sure) that if you use a female with a ditto, the child will inherit the female’s ability 100% of the time… idk…
Then what of genderless pokemon with a Ditto?shrugs

You pretty much have everything right with a few errors. For one, if a Pokemon can have two abilities (not counting Dream World abilities), the ability the baby inherits from its mother (father if it’s a male-only species) is random. What you experienced was coincidence. Two, if either Ditto or the mother is holding the item Everstone, then the offspring has a 50% chance of getting that parent’s nature.

^ Retried this with eight different pokemon under the same conditions…
Only 1 of them inherited the parents ability and the others got something different…
The chance of an ability getting passed down(breeding with ditto) is quite low from what I see…
However without the Everstone(I really need to find one), inheritance of natures is quite random…
Capturing a pokemon that has an ability I want does not seem to be in my best interest if I want to breed it:tdown:

Throh, Houndoom, Forrestress, Absol(well not really, because that’s the egg that happened to break the trend), Bronzog(Trick Room+Iron Ball+Psychic/Steel Typing=Broke as fuck), Probopass or Rotom

Just picked this up last week and I’m hooked, haven’t played one of these since red when I was a little kid. I read that Shiny Pokemon are rare as fuck like 1 in 8,115 type shit. I really really really want a shiny litwick, I’ve spent the past two days of play time in the celestial tower looking for one. Is there anything I can do to up my odds, the breeding thing seems like a better route but Idk anyone from another country who owns the game.

Trust me, the Elite Four is back and harder than ever… the new type combinations do not help at all, in the older games, it was easier to counterpick…
When you get the Lucky Egg, abuse that shit… make sure the only Pokemon battling is the one using it…
Pure Psychic’s aren’t that good anymore… Mienfoo is a good choice of a psychic pokemon
Steel-Type(could try Ferroseed) seem like the Dragons of this generation…
Don’t worry about what you capture now, the real game starts after the Elite Four anyway…
