Official Pokemon Thread ver 3.0: PokeMMO: The Future Of Pokemon? (B/W 2 OUT NOW!)

I just found out how effort values are calculated in generations past two… I’ve been fucking up everything as of late lol…

So glad I started over especially with the introduction of the legendary…

I just went through for the first time, whats up with that cave with the frozen ice block? Seems like Im missing something there

Also, I thought it was odd that I was seeing so many ice types, I thought it was just the area and not the season

That ice rock is used to evolve Eevee into Glaceon in 5th gen. There’s a mossy rock in Pinwheel Forest you can use to get Leafeon as well.
That’s too bad about Beartic. I guess I could use Crygonal, but that damn thing doesn’t even look like it belongs in Pokemon. That and the herp-derp faced flatfish are my most hated new monster designs.

I use Crunch because of Reuniclus. Payback will get sponged otherwise. I find payback too situational.

Is Impish a good nature for Cobalion? Since he learns swords dance, I didn’t feel the need to go Adamant. Also, since he’s weak to fighting/ground combinations he can shrug off some of the dmg. I’m sorta disappointed with its movepool, it doesn’t learn anything great. So far I got SD, Sacred Sword, Stone Edge, Iron Head.

I like SS on Cobalion because you don’t want CC to lower your defenses. Stone Edge to deal with fire types and great coverage overall. Swords dance sounds good, but I wish it had bulk up to increase that defense. It looks like a decent speedy tank. I don’t like Iron Head on him, while it is secondary STAB, the coverage is redundant with fighting. I guess the neutral aspect is good. Steel can hit ghost, bug, psychic, poison and flying for neutral damage I don’t what else you could put in its place though. I would suggest metal burst but I think Cobalion is kind of speedy and won’t be able to use it well.

I’m really stumped on what could be good for Cobalion =/

Haha yeah I was like “I wish this thing learned Bulk Up…” also

Yeah I was going to skip over CC, SS also ignores stat changes which is hella good. That combined with SE makes for unbelievably good coverage, Iron Head hits what SS/SE can’t. It also makes up for SE poor PP, which is only good for like one or two battles.

I could make a Calm Mind Cobalion, with his already high defense after one or two Calm Minds makes a pretty damn good tank. Volt Switch, Focus Blast, Flash Cannon, CM or something like that.

Is there any site or guide that breaks down the nature and stats of pokemon. I’m so lost with that stuff

I finally beat the Elite 4 Rematch and Alder. My team levels varied between 60-70, and there was a little luck involved, but I got it done. Alder was surprisingly easy; the one who gave me the biggest problem was Shauntal, followed by Grimsley, Marshal, and then Caitlyn.

Note, this is NOT my competitive team; this is just the team I used for the E4, in case anyone needs help and hasn’t got that Volcarona or plans on using legendaries:

Darmanitan-Flare Blitz, Fire Punch, U-Turn, Earthquake
Haxorus-Dragon Dance, Outrage, Dragon Claw, Earthquake
Mienshao-Hi Jump Kick, U-Turn, Acrobatics, Stone Edge
Braviary-Bulk Up, Brave Bird, Sky Drop, Superpower
Krookodile-Bulk Up, Crunch, Earthquake, Outrage
Reuniclus-Recover, Energy Ball, Psychic, Shadow Ball

Look at the stats of your pokemon…

If it isn’t a neutral nature, then one of the stats should be highlighted in red(that one is increased 10%) then there should be a another stat highlighted in blue(that one is decreased 10%)

EV guide
its one of those tl;dr things… here it goes…

Pokemon gain effort “points” by defeating pokemon(in other words, if your pokemon doesn’t ko something, it gains no effort points)… these points boost your stats up …

You can only have 255 effort points per stat and 510 in total for everything…

The stat you get the effort points for depends on the pokemon you defeat…
List of Pokémon by effort value yield - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia

EV training is damn near impossible without finishing the game first imo…

I hope I explained that well enough…

You can only calculate them when you have a pokemon @ lv 100…

Also, never put 255 in a single stat. Stop at 252, since your EV’s have to be divisible by 4 to get a whole number. Those 3 extra ev’s are a waste. Make sure when you are doing EV’s that your number is always divisible by 4.

At level 50 in the battle subway your ev’s should be divisible by 8. But 252 is fine if you plan on doing comp battling plus battle subway.

Anyone wants to do me a favor a trade with me so I can evolve my gurrdurr?

Sure… give you my Musharna as insurance…

EDIT:Gotdamn Shinto, where that friend code at…

DOUBLE EDIT:shrugs I tried I guess…

Been using my Haxorus in the daily battles and he’s already almost to level 70. I’m thinking of raising a new dark type because I wasn’t feeling Zweilous. I’m thinking either Krookodile or Scrafty. Any opinions? Should I just stick with leveling Zweilous?

Wow had no clue about all this…

Destiny Bond seems pretty OP…is it banned?

Nope.

Not at all. In fact, you have to be faster than your opponent or else Destiny Bond is no good at all. You have to be KO’d for it to be any good. It’s not a good move but I have used it for trolling.

For power, go with Krookodile. For defense, Scrafty. It really appears in what your team is in need of more. Fighting/Dark is very good typing, but Krookodile gets the ever popular STAB’d EQ. Scrafty still learns some pretty good moves for a tank, like Hi Jump Kick.

You could be like me and train up a Hydregion, it’ll take a while but worth it in the end. I run one at Naughty nature, combined with a “Mixmence” set (EQ/Draco Meteor/Outrage/Crunch). Very beastly, the drop in Sp. Def is hardly noticable at all because of its high stats.

i cheated and imported all my generation IV monsters to beat the elite four, am i a bad person?

Wobuffet is still good in this game. :3
