Official Pokemon Thread ver 3.0: PokeMMO: The Future Of Pokemon? (B/W 2 OUT NOW!)

Throh is some kind of beast. Doesn’t even matter that it’s got such shit speed it’s a fucking brick wall.

I agree about the E4 being harder. Cynthia can be annoying if you don’t take down her Spiritomb quick - no weakness + Double Team abuse messed me up the first time, but I was still able to beat her in my first attempt with an average level of 68-ish. The E4 are an endurance round where most of your good moves are out of PP by the time you get to the end unless you bought some ethers, and Caitlyn seems to have a counter to just about anything. I do like the extra challenge, though.

And if some people haven’t yet, you have 10 days left to get you Liberty Pass and Victini from Wifi in the US (Europeans have until the 22nd). The cool thing is that it re-spawns in the same room if you knock it out instead of catch it, so you can use it to grind HP EVs too (gives 3 a pop).

Yeah I actually like that he’s slow, makes those revenge 1 ko’s so sweet.

just got my 6th badge. highest lv poke is 44 lowest is 34

That’s why you go with nature like Naive/Hasty on Samurott to make him a fast mixed sweeper. His only problems is his rather average speed but it’s not as bad as Emboar’s. There aren’t a lot of good water pokemon ingame that can do the things Samurott can, plus I like a pokemon I normally use being able to Surf/STAB without going into the box. You could teach it Blizzard, but I prefer Ice Beam to rectify the PP/Accuracy issues.

Cynthia is easy because her Spiritomb is setup fodder. No matter how many times it DTs, one X-Accuracy should still hit it. Round 2 E4 still provides the challenge, but will still fall the same if you DD up then just Full Restore/Sweep.

I think for Hydreigon my final Moveset will be something like

EQ
Draco Meteor
Outrage
Crunch

I think that will make the most of its stats.

get smogon’s take on why blaziken was banned on smogcast^ (you can download into mp3)

can we get a tl:dr on that smogcast?^

they talk about things we didn’t already know, but I’m glad he points out that you can simply KO him with aqua jet

my face v

x_x

If only.

I hate the battle subway. A Conkledurr paralyzed my entire team with force palm on the first hits, costing me my streak.

yeah, that level 70 volcarona thing or whatever that you catch and knows Quiver Dance (+spc atk, +sp def, +speed?!?!?) pretty much makes cynthia or the elite four round 2 or anything else way way easy

who’s a good hm slave?

Honestly? The water starter can learn everything but Fly. Give that and Flash to Woobat.

i finally started the post game. Went to Nimbasa to get my daily battle on at the Big Stadium and Small Court. DAMN level 67? lol I made it through my first battle but lost 3 pokemon doing it  I read about the level jump, but didn’t expect it in the daily battles lol. and cuz it’s 4/1 it’s finally Winter in my game. I should check out how this changes certain areas.

Also, was there a rod during the normal game? because I got the Super Rod, but don’t recall ever getting a normal rod

Fuck. I need to get on this. I went to a McDonalds when I first got it but couldn’t connect. I wish my Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector didn’t crap out on me (and wish they didn’t infringe on patents and could still sell the damn thing)

EDIT:

Got through all those trainers in Nimbasa. My Haxorus is getting beastly. What’s a good moveset? I was thinking
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw (Outrage when I get it)
Brick Break
EQ

or is there something else I should toss in?

And is Zen Mode Darmanitan something I should waste time resetting for?I love my Darmanitan as it is, but is Zen Mode worth it?

My favorite new Pokemon is Scrafty

Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin
Nature: Careful
252 HP, 40 attack, 216 special defense

-Drain Punch
-Rest
-Crunch
-Bulk Up

252 HP is mandatory along with leftovers. 40 attack is just to hit a little harder with 10 extra points. The rest is invested in special defense because Scrafty has no way of boosting his special defense. Careful nature to get a little more help with special defense while decreasing the non existent special attack.

Drain Punch is for STAB and recovery. It outclasses brick break because they now have the same power. If drain punch didn’t get buffed I would have stayed with Hi Jump Kick. Crunch is for secondary STAB and the fact that Dark/Fighting has almost perfect coverage which is only resisted by Toxicroak and Heracross. Rest combined with Shed Skin gives Scrafty a 51% chance of waking up on the first turn Rest is used. Bulk Up is to get the defense boost because I have no EV investment there.

I like this set better than his DD set. I’ve been using it in the battle subway. I have been rather Successful with it.

Well I got Victini today, he’s basically a fire type version of Celebi. I don’t think you’ll need Zen Darmanitan with him in the lineup, he’s got a great movepool also. What did you guys go with? I don’t know what moveset to give him, right now I have

@Rash
Psychic
FThrower
Grass Knot
Tbolt

I don’t like Grass/Electric combinations. Grass can already hit ground and water hard, in which I prefer. It gets Flare Blitz so I might make another mixed sweeper. Also, I caught a Kyurem (yea I used my MB), here’s what it’s looking like

@Rash
Ice Beam
Dragon Pulse (this will outrage when I get it)
Shadow Ball
Fly

Well, fly got a boost to 90 base power. That’s nice, considering it helps against fighting types, which threatens him. Also, it’s convenient. I got tired of pulling tranquill out the damn box to fly around Unova, no more lol. I probably shouldn’t of used my MB on this thing though…

Oh yeah, here’s my Haxorus

@Adamant
Outrage
DD
Rock Slide
EQ

Rock Slide is tons better than Brick Break. For one, in a double battle Rock Slide will hit two for the price of one. Secondly, the coverage is better. Fighting is great coverage in its own right, but not for a pokemon like Haxorus. Haxorus needs to be able to hit things that dodge its EQs. I dislike getting locked into Outrages when I don’t have to, so Rock Slide compliments EQ for excellent coverage. Third, hax flinching chance is well worth its troubles. You could go with Stone Edge for more power, but PP issues I have I thing with.

Haxorus can’t learn stone edge.

Dammit, Spinning Beat, that’s my set for Scrafty, lol! Although mine has Payback instead since he usually goes last in battles netting that base power boost from 50 to 100. Fighting/Dark is indeed a great offensive typing, and Shed Skin Resting is lol against status-inflicting pokes.

Since it’s Winter, you all should check out Iccirrus City and Twist Mountain for new areas and items. Not to mention Ice-types become more plentiful in the wild now. Speaking of Ice-types, is that Polar Bear (Beartic) any good?
I’d like to add another Ice-type to my roster, and Vanilluxe is kinda short-changed in the movepool department…

Ah shoot, you’re right. Oh well, if you can’t learn SE Rock Slide is the next best thing…

Beartic doesn’t look very good, shame because he’s one of the cooler pokemon designs that’s new. Average defenses, very slow, and doesn’t learn too many moves to take advantage of that STAB-ATK. You can reteach it Superpower from a heart scale though.
