Props to the lightning…honestly a lot of speed and some very skilled plays. They bring their defensivemen up a lot in the offensive zone, but no when to peel back and are excellent in their own zone in blocking the shooting lanes.
Crawford was good for the most part, had some excellent saves. The first goal though, he went to his knees well before the shot…which left the net open above him.
Joel Q is a wizard in terms of adjustments, meaning the blackhawks many times do better and better as the series go on. Chicago really needs this championship though it has been a rough year for Chicago sports.
The loss of Rozsival and all the games these players have played for years including the Olympics were beginning to show a lot this series.
Tampa Bay has been the better team especially today. Yet again, it all came down to luck. Only this time - for the Blackhawks.
Crawford was dat nigga today. If Hawks win next game they’re clinching Game 6. If it goes 7 games… I honestly don’t know. TB has been dominant, lucky and fresh even with cripple ache Ben Bishop. Blackhawks…just lucky, sometimes
I honestly don’t miss Rozsival all that much, dude looked scared to hold onto the puck for half the season and made a lot of bonehead plays. The problem is our defense is sort of gutted. We’ve got old warhorses and new recruits and 2 guys pulling all the weight (Keith and Seabrook) and it’s definitely starting to show.
I honestly think the tipping point last night was the near miss on the breakaway by Sharp, right before the first goal. From that point on the Bolts look a bit shook up, especially Vasilevskiy.
Thats said, the Hawks look tired and it’s been a series of inches and odd bounces. Please pull it in 6 guys, I live less than a mile from the stadium and I want to see the city blow up like it did in '13.
Lmao yeah same here… Wanna see my leafs start burning through first round picks, dump our trash players, and see McDavid pull a Lindros and not play for Edmonton.
And yeah, right after that breakaway off the post the bolts just fell apart.
Even though the hawks won, it is them who need to make the adjustments not the Lightning. The Lightning completely dominated yesterday, we couldn’t get the puck out of our zone…no wonder the defense looked so tired. So many long shifts. Still…I can’t see an effective way to get it efficiently out of the zone, the lightning are so much faster. Hit it on the boards, they are right there every time. They are right on any hawk that gets the puck, and they are so fast passes across the middle of the ice also carry great risk.
The Lightning are supposed to be the future, the Blackhawks the present. Will the young lion knock off the old lion and become king?
Though there hasn’t been any overtimes, this series is crazy exciting. What happens when you have two teams that blaze up and down the ice with inhuman speed. I am POed though that the whole series isn’t on NBC. This is the stanley cup finals, hockey has a big audience, and they are hurting the growth of the NHL by having all the playoffs including some of the finals not being on network television.
Other than football (NFL), hockey is the most exciting of the american sports. If it gets more exposure, people will see that.
Doesn’t change the look on McDavid’s face when they announced Edmonton would get first pick overall.
I just like when O6 teams win it, or make it to the finals. I feel like tradition will keep me satisfied, until the leafs rebuild their multi decade dynasty.
That was too easy but hey I’ll take it. The blackhawks are doing a much better job getting the puck out of their zone this game, and they’ve had quite a few really good scoring opportunities.
