Baron always shoots to much and had bigger ego problems. I think only the Warriors did it right for a time, to cater to his ego hard. He shared the ball different then as well. I think your to hard with him though.
It’s a shitload of forwards worthy of being an allstar in the West so you can’t really knock him for that. That’s why you see each year a forward being put in the center position on the ballet to sneak an extra one into the game.
Outside of Kobe,Durant,and Dirk. Melo is possible the best scorer in the game because he makes it look so damn easy. That’s why they had him playing PF in the olympics alot. He has the post moves and the outside shot that Lebron lacks.
Assist wise of course his numbers won’t be that great he has Billups for that plus he’s a scoring forward not a point forward type player.
People keep forgetting that Lebron is the exception not the rule when it comes to forwards. Is Larry Bird less of a legend because he couldn’t pass like Magic?
Melo’s top ten because he’s one of the best in the game being one of the three top small forwards has nothing to do with it.
Plus I’m going to hate myself for saying this but you forgot about Pierce.
Pierce isn’t top 10. He was in his prime (when people acted like he didn’t exist), but not now. He’s become a much better shooter though, but he’s more liable to take games off because of his help and the defensive system he plays in.
Bird didn’t pass like Magic, but he got 6-7 assists per game anyway, which is pretty much on tier with LeBron. Even when Melo didn’t have Billups, he just never felt like passing. Actually, you can make the excuse he also had Andre Miller and therefore always played with solid point guards, but in reality this is not an excuse. He’s just a selfish scorer who doesn’t look to make plays with his passing often.
This is the problem, we need to stop praising guys as great players just because they’re dominant scorers. Melo was a first round exit for years, then he finally broke through a couple times. Now he wants to leave his team and go to another team that doesn’t believe in defense. That’s his game… he wants to play one side of the court most of the time.
