if the hornets dont get a really big payoff for trading cp3 then my estimation is that the team will move in less than 3 years
and from the looks of the scenario…it looks like its bye bye hornets

no suprise nene wants out. Oden to the Heat please
So which players who’ll be put on waivers can still play?
I can only think of Baron Davis, maybe B-Roy?
Rashard can still play but he was never worth his contract, Nate Robinson is getting the axe from the Thunder according to rumors.
If Marvin Williams doesn’t get amnestied or traded I’m going to be pissed. He is a complete waste of space.
The Hawks should try to trade for Al Jefferson he really needs to catch a break, Horford can easily slide to PF.
I know I was saying that the Lakers wouldn’t really care about cutting cost, but $5 billion over 25 years for a TV deal is crazy.

I don’t want the Thunder! I want a brand new team. Hell I want every player to be release and we just draft from scratch!
COME ON ORACLE LEAGUE!
The difference is OKC cares about their team, Seattle really didn’t until it was far to late. Even most Sonics fans will tell you Seattle really did not give 2 shits about the Sonics until they were gone.
The Seattle Thunder? ZING!
my body is already ready
question: why wouldnt every team use the amnesty? is there a negative to using it?
i think some teams are so far over the cap amnestying someone wouldn’t even help towards the cap and i guess teams still have to technically pay amnestied players right?
oh man in shape zbo i am hella shocked, too bad they prob wont keep marc
Perhaps they can save it for later?
The team may not really need to use it esp. if they can keep a player for trade value (if any) or if amnesty-ing a player wouldn’t save them much.
Help.
I can’t stop laughing.
Lets Go Suns .
And if there is room in the fun league im down.
There’s no point for the Wiz to amnesty Rashard as of now. They’re under the cap.
Doesn’t mean he won’t in the future though, the amnesty can be used throughout the tenure of the new CBA.
Exactly. I think they are rubbing up against the league minimum anyway. Hold on to him for a season and he becomes a Dampier contract.
Besides what would it open up on the court? There is no benefit in it…
"They see him as a big part of what they hope to do going forward, not only as a player but a leader.”
It’s really this line that gets me guys.
I wish they were still named the Bullets when Arenas and Crittenton went down.
Amnesty rule only applies to teams trying to clear contracts out against their salary cap figure, so teams that are under the cap already or aren’t chasing a big free agent that requires a lot of cap space won’t use it yet. I mean you still have to pay the guy, it’s just an issue of what your salary cap figure is.
Nene is the most coveted free agent this offseason, that is kind of wacky. Seems like the 2012 free agent class looks a lot better with Chris Paul and Dwight headlining, so I think you’re probably going to see a lot of other teams amnesty a lot of guys next year. Plus it gives teams another season to check out how the new CBA affects things.
Most rebuilding teams have no interest in signing guys or clearing cap anyway this season, a 66 game season is a prime chance to tank it all away.
RAPTORS, DON’T LET ME DOWN
SEASON OF THE TANK
AND YET STILL WIN THE FINALS IN 4
If Divac actually gets into the Hall, it won’t be because of his NBA on-court contributions, like you keep saying. It will be because of fruity “contributions to the game of basketball internationally” or something like that as a pioneer of the game.
Nope. You are straight up lying.
Name one single NBA “center” that did not average at least 9.1 career boards that was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the last 20 years, that was not named Kevin McHale. Or Sabonis, because obviously he was not measured based on the merits of his NBA achievements.
(Dan Issel averaged 22.6/9.1 in his career and was inducted in 1993, he had the lowest rebounding average in that list of guys, but still put up like five double digit rebound seasons.)
You cannot. Because you are a crazy man who lies about everything.
The NBA is starved for centers NOW. It wasn’t back in the early 2000’s, that is a crazy thing to say.
He made the All-Star team in 2001, when he averaged 12/8.3/2.9 with 1.1/1.1 steals/blocks, shot .482 - let’s say that was his best year.
Here’s a list of guys better than him in 2001.
Gasol (17.6/8.9 with 2.1 blocks, shot .518 in his rookie year)
Camby (12/11.5 with 2.2 blocks, shot .524)
Mutombo (11.5/10.8, 2.4 blocks, shot .501 - First Team All-Defense, Second Team All-NBA, made the Finals)
Theo Ratliff (I know, fucking crazy right? But he put up 12.4/8.3 with a league leading 3.7 blocks and shot .499 on that same Sixers team)
Shaq
Robinson
You could even argue Ben Wallace (6.4/13.2 with 1.3/2.3 steals/blocks, shot .490) and even JO in his first year with Indiana.
And then throw in Zo every year he wasn’t hurt.
And that’s not counting all the big men that played center part time, with Dirk, Duncan, or even Antonio McDyess (20/12 that year, good God he could still fly).
Consider that most of these guys were great defensive centers too. Vlade wasn’t great at
defense, plus he didn’t put up as many numbers as these guys…you just can’t argue he was ever top 5.
He didn’t make a All-NBA team, ever. Being named to the All-Star team by coaches is more a function of team success and popularity than individual accomplishment.
Like I said, if he makes it (which he very well could) it’ll be the same vein as Sabonis, in terms of international accomplishments. He might even have a better chance since Vlade’s NBA career was better.
But if Vlade was just another dude from Ohio or whatever and only has his NBA accomplishments and never played abroad…then he is in no way Hall of Fame worthy.
And I think neither is Mutombo, because the case against Vlade is almost the same as the one against Mutombo - just the other side of the offense/defense coin. Mutomo at least could board like a motherfucker though.
Seriously. What the fuck are ESPN smoking thinking we’re in the race for Tyson Chandler. It bothers me how they call themselves analysts when it’s obvious we’re rebuilding, so why the hell would we wanna sign a role player for $10-12 million/year when we don’t even have a star to build around? Oh right, we’re the Raptors so we’re irrelevant to any talk that makes sense.
Well at least we’re set at PG for a while, I think Brandon Knight is going to be a pretty solid pro that we at least don’t need to worry about too much. We can always dig scrubby European centers out of the bargain bin.
OH WAIT
