Official NBA 2011-2012 Thread - AK47 upgraded to AK 20 Million

i really wish CP3 wasn’t putting on this act in front of media but i guess he has no choice.

also lol @ bynum = anyone you want to turn him into…

#1 Kobe only has to play the last 8 minutes of a game.
#2 They’re not the “probably best frontcourt” when you get swept by the Mavs.
#3 I think last year’s playoffs showed that CP3’s knee is just fine.

And as already noted… the Lakers aren’t just gonna stand pat. They’re gonna sign some guys too.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

They need CP3 now more than ever since their new coach has no clue about how to run offensive sets and promote ball and player movement.

Two things about this

  1. We got murked by Dallas’ 3 point shooting. Hardly something I’d blame on the frontcourt
  2. Pau was being a bitch during the playoffs which hurt us both rounds. Obviously, when you factor that into the equation, it affects how good the frontcourt is. But Pau isn’t exactly a bitch throughout the course of the season.

Thanks for reminding me. It doesn’t really matter who the Lakers get.

They can have Howard/Blake/Lebron/Wade/Paul and still wouldn’t win with Brown.

Like I said Kobe Bryant coach of the year.

Reading the thread title, can someone please photoshop Magneto Stern doing a gravity squeeze on CP3 as Zero?

If someone did that I would put it in the first post.

now am I the only one who finds it ironic that the guy who basically got jack shit by letting the biggest free agent of all time walk free is talking about a trade being a travesty?

You know that, most of us know that…

EDIT: beaten

LA would by far come out the winner in this trade, NO would do okay considering the position then are in and Houston would get donkey punched repeatedly. This could have all been avoided if the NBA didn’t own NO. That decision alone to buy the Hornets will mark Stern for the rest of his career.

Gilbert is a bitch, but that Washington Generals line was pretty good.

ESPN reports Dwight Howard wants the Nets.

Lol, all the superstars are trying to form superteams now. There’s only going to be about 4-7 ultra-stacked teams, then the other 20+ are just gonna have washed up has-beens and never-was players filling out pathetic ass rosters. God I hate the NBA sometimes.

I actually would not call Dwight Howard playing with Deron Williams a super team per say. You can actually build a good team if it is just those 2 guys and not a 3rd Superstar coming in. 2 star teams have been around for awhile and have succeed. Even Clyde when he was in Portland usually had another star with him, same for Hakeem. The Sonics had Payton and Pre Crisis Kemp. The NBA isn’t trying to avoid 2 stars playing on the same team, they do not want a Miami situation again. At least that is what they say when its someone elses team doing that, they are fine with their team doing that.

funny considering that’s what the lockout was about anyways.

nba free agency is the best! what other sport does the excitement of big moves while also questioning the morality of its owners and practices?

these 66 games are going to go so fast.

Caron Butler for 8 mill a year, I think this is another bad signing for a guy you don’t know will produce anymore. If he goes back to about 18ppg and shoots about 45 percent then you are good for the price. If you are getting 10-12 ppg then you got ripped off.

Shane Battier supposedly going to The Heat, that would be a good signing for them. Good hard nosed player and a good defender who does the things no one else wants to do.

Man, the owners whine and we lose CP3 for the time being, and now Dwight wants to be a Net? The day started so well and has now taken a terrible turn for the worse.

By the way, I don’t know if anyone posted this yet, but this is Cleveland Cavalier owner Dan Gilbert’s letter to D. Stern asking him to block the CP3 trade: http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2011/12/cavs-owner-dan-gilberts-letter-to-stop-chris-paul-trade-to-lakers/

The lakers would only be winners for enticing Dwight Howard to come and play them. The lakers traded their entire frontcourt for a non guranteed player, and was heavily reliant on a center that’s injury prone.

Salt Gilbert can eat a dick.

Danny Granger tweeted Thursday night, "Due to the sabotaging of the LA/NO trade by David Stern, and following in the footsteps of my athlete brethren Metta World Peace and Chad Ochocinco, I’m changing my last name to ‘Stern’s Bi#&h’"
While it’s easy to make jokes about this, there are rumblings that some players may sit out of training camps in protest of this most recent move. Those impulses may subside when players look at the ramifications of sitting out, but there are also legally compliant ways to exercise their distaste. Until Stern gets out in front of this issue, if he can, things continue to spiral out of control for a leaderless NBA.
