Official NBA 2011-2012 Thread - AK47 upgraded to AK 20 Million

the whole web is kinda salty over this. Even laker haters.

nba being faggots.

Yea I’m salty too. I really wanted to see a fat Khole. Then Lamar starts cheating on her… then well DRAMA! Would of been so awesome.

seriously though, hornets would of gotten scola, martin, odom, picks, man that’s winning. It’s time for these owners pull their head outta their asses and realize that CP doesn’t want to play in a smaller market.

I think anyone who doesn’t have their heads up their asses are pretty salty. The trade for the lakers was a huge gamble. We’re giving up our frontline for a point guard. But Chris Paul is my second favorite player after Kobe and whether it helped or hurt the Lakers, it made me excited for the upcoming season. The fact that Stern could do something like this at any time just kind of kills any buzz I had left for this season. In the end, it’s the Hornets that get screwed the worst simply because they’ll get nothing when Chris Paul walks.

Hey look Phil Jackson called this finger pointing shit last year.

Phil Jackson unhappy with NBA deal - ESPN

EDIT: Seriously? For “Basketball reasons”? What the fuck, was Dragic’s offensive plus-minus too low Stern?

The trade for the Lakers was not a huge gamble, it was an upgrade.

If the Lakers dealt Pau and Lamar for CP3, how the fuck could they afford D12? Trade Bynum and Kobe? Owners are black belts in stupid if they thought LA was getting a Paul and Howard superteam.

nba knows drama. this is great.

lakers should be mad. cuz fuck the lakers, thats why.

How so? Bynum is suspended for the first 5 games of the season and our frontline would consist of Ron Artest, Derrick Caracter, Devin Ebanks, and Matt Barnes. Clearly we were banking on Otis Smith being a retard again and accepting something for Dwight. But do you honestly think the Lakers giving up their size which was their main advantage over other teams over the last 3 seasons, and putting it all on the shoulders of a center that averaged 27 mpg isn’t a gamble?

I do not think they were going to get Howard. What I think what was going to happen is LA would have signed David West(which would have been a good signing) and probably tried to get a backup PF/C for spot duty.

on a lighter note…

Trading a very good frontcourt for the best backcourt in the NBA seems like an upgrade to me.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

CP3 + Kobe + Bynum > Pau + Odom +Bynum.

Who’s Ron Artest?

No it isn’t a gamble because nothing would be on Bynum. All the pressure would be on CP3 and he would be fine. As I just mentioned they would sign David West and probably a backup PF/C. I guarantee CP3 signs a long term deal if he gets traded there as well, that was probably part of the deal. So at worst case scenario for the Lakers, you have your franchise player for possibly the next 10 years. It was a win win for LA and took absolutely no risk. That is not even counting taking Odoms ridiculous contract off the books(I like Odom as a player but he should not have got that contract). Does it hurt their depth in the short term, possibly yeah. But it was no risk.

yeah, because lakers would’ve just kept the team as is.

having the best backcourt in the nba and having a bynum that you can turn into just about anyone you want + free agency… yeah, i’m sure lakers would’ve been cool leaving it as is.

and i’m sure having the best backcourt in basketball would have been very unattractive to prospective talent. i mean… why would you ever want to join a team that has 2 of the top 5 players in the league on it?

Potentially the best backcourt in NBA history quite honestly. But Kobe isn’t getting any younger. And Paul’s knee is also a concern as well. And keep in mind, this isn’t just a “very good” frontcourt. It’s probably the best frontcourt in the league as well. Trading big for a small is always a gamble, especially when it’s two of them.

In other news, sources say CP3 won’t report to training camp tomorrow and will be appealing to the union. Things about to get interesting again

Biggest losers in this Houston.

Nothing CP3 can do the NBA owns the Hornets, they have the final say. All that will happen is CP3 will be fined into oblivion.

Lakers would have had no bench, no frontcourt, and no chance at Dwight Howard.

And shit if Houston got nene, they would’ve been in there for the 4th-5th seed for the next couple of seasons. But that’s just me playing theory GM for them. Do not quote me.

And now it looks like CP3 is furious.

And here’s the kicker.

I don’t think this would’ve destroyed the deal, but god damn who the fuck knows how shit would’ve turned out.

they were going to be losing anyways. they were giving up alot to cut some salary, and in all honesty were fucking this shit up. houston putting all their eggs in the basket on gasol and free agency? that team is on tilt. they aren’t making rational decisions at this point.

let chris paul whine about it. its a bad precedence for the league to let players hold these small market teams hostage.
