man how could you not vote for the moose
Gotta be tough to survive a Philly audience - see Destiny’s Child & Kobe…

Don’t forget that Baron Davis was the guy that said “Hey Dirk, you suck. Stephen Jackson can guard you.” and Dirk was all like “Dang, Baron, you’re right. Love the beard.”
I miss the days when a big man like PJ Brown could getaway with body slamming little guys who run into the lane.

slashers should NOT be rewarded for initiating contact. I absolute abhor the concept of ‘give the ball to Wade and let him crash into the lane’. If he makes the shot - awesome, but it shouldn’t be so easy…to get to the line.

I would have prefered we signed a player that was more mobile but at veterans minimum what can you expect. Affallo would have been a better signing but he’s restricted and would have requested more than MLE and since were over the cap we can’t offer the full MLE anyway.
The only thing we could have offered Denver is Caracter who they were high on two years ago and Sasha’s TPE that expires on 12/12.
The Lakers currently counting Kapono and if you want to count the few times Odom plays it have 6 SF. Peace,Walton,Barnes,Ebanks,Kapono,Odom.
Classic B-Diddy

Before it was just a rash off the cuff statement, but now it is full blown stupidity.
No, it’s not just FT%. It’s assists, boards, steals, defense, number of fouls he draws, and a huge field goal percentage advantage. It’s EVERYTHING. And that is Paul’s CAREER average. When Paul is healthy, he is even more better than Baron in literally every single way.
I don’t think you even know who Chris Paul is. Have you ever looked at this numbers?
Chris Paul has been farther in the playoffs than Baron Davis has - Game 7 of the second round.
Baron Davis’ playoff averages: 19.8/4.6/6.5
Chris Paul’s playoff averages: 21.9/5.3/11.1
Yeah, don’t let facts or logic or any of that stuff get in your way.
CP3 is the best PG in the NBA imo.
Nah, dude. It’s Fisher. He’s part of the best guard duo in the league and won 5 rings!
I like the change in rules, but I think it’s going to be hard to judge a good amount of them on whether or not the player is in a “shooting motion.” It’ll also affect Kobe (he does swing through a good amount) and will majorly affect Lebron. No more power drives while holding the basketball like a football until the last second and hurling a layup.
aye sit your ass down w/ those claims son. everyone knows it goes like this:
Anthony Peeler > Boom dizzle > CP3
Don’t talk about Boom Dizzle like that, he was a star in the Iraqi league, he will make HOF for sure.
And Derek Fisher is half of the greatest backcourt in NBA history - 10 rings, 13 All-Star nods, 2 Finals MVPs between him and the other guy, that’s not shabby at all.
Shane Battier going to Miami…
Great signing…but for how much? Still need moneys for a center. Are they hoping to pick up an amnesty cast off?
This is a great signing right? Geo, sign his praises.
still need a center, tho.
Could try for Nene if he would lower his price tag.
Every stat you posted was within 1 (or less than) - an extra rebound or assist here doesn’t make you better than the next guy. You also completely ignored his numbers with Charlotte.
You can look at numbers, I’ll look at their play. Davis in his prime (or when he actually decides to show up) is a better shooter (and all-around better scorer), defender and rebounder than Chris Paul. I personally think the guy is vastly overrated. For a guy his size, he can’t shoot and depends on getting in the paint. Iverson was the same way and it ended up clogging the lane up.
Ok, you’re desperate. You’re talking how many individual games in the second round? You get put out, you’re out - it’s that simple. Davis lead an 8th seed team over the not only the #1 seed - but a team picked by the overwhelming vast majority to win the whole thing. And it was done convincingly.
For all the flack LeBron James gets, Chris Paul is let off easy. Constantly being called the best PG - yet doesn’t have a signature playoff series to show for it. Barely has any signature regular season wins to show either. Right now I’d take Rose, Rondo, Williams, Curry and Wall over him. No, I don’t think Curry or Wall are better than him right now but CP has hit or is very close to his peak, while Curry and Wall aren’t that far from his level but still getting a lot better. Heck, if Baron was about 3 years younger and still giving a crap I’d take him too.
Derrick Rose. Not even close.
I’ll take CP3 over Rose. Might even take Deron over Rose.
I’m not on the Rose hype train shrug.
Signing Hill still won’t ‘fix’ NY to me. They are simply put broken. Now if they could woo Nash and Hill, then I’d eat my words…but thats not happening. If it did they’d average 132 pts per game…and still wouldn’t win the chip haha
- :bluu:
Rondo with a jumpshot would be 2nd behind CP3 immo. Though Deron was impressive in whatever bumfuck country he played in last month.
And Paul Pierce, among others. Either way all the changes sound reasonable.
Those are Paul’s career numbers, that factor in his injured years. And they’re still better than one of Baron’s alleged “trying to win” years.
Pick one of Chris Paul’s healthy seasons and look up the stats, they blow anything Baron’s every accomplished out of the water.
Did you just say Chris Paul can’t shoot?
Did you just say Baron Davis is a better shooter than Chris Paul?
Did you just say Baron Davis is a good shooter by any objective measure?
Better all around scorer? Even though Paul’s averaged more points, more assists, much better field goal percentage, requires less shots, and gets to the foul line much more, and shoots a much better free throw percentage - you’re saying that despite all these things being objectively fact, that Baron Davis is still a better offensive player?
You are insane.
And how is “clogging the lane up” a bad thing? You’re the guard with the ball on dribble penetration, that’s the entire point, you want to get into the lane. You WANT to draw fouls. You WANT to get the other team in the penalty and put their guys in foul trouble, you want to get to the line for free points as much as possible.
I think we’re done, yeah.
You said Chris Paul had never done anything in the playoffs compared to Baron, which was a straight up ignorant lie.
My point is made.
Warriors offer to Tyson Chandler…
$60 million over four years.
$15 MILLION PER YEAR.
Amazing. Well done, Golden State.
New CBA, same GMs. Didn’t fix a thing.
The Knicks are a Coach, a defensive C and a couple of bench pieces from being a contender.
It’s just that the Knicks right now are hell bent on trying to get CP3. Signing Dalembert,Hill, and possibly Carl Landry or Jamal Crawford who says he wants to be a knick again would be a better team than just signing CP3.
Billups is not that bad but he’s not worth the 14mil he’s getting this year.
How the Hell is Tyson Chandler worth 15mil yearly?
Edit:
Lint beat me to it.
The Knicks are thinking about using the Amnestity on Billups to give Chandler 14mil yearly.
No, they are further away than that. CP3 is the quickest way to contention for them. I’m still not convinced Amare & Melo are anything special when put together. At least someone like Paul would create a good blend to keep an offense going despite Anthony “Iso” Melo. CP3 would also add some defensive accountability. A defensive center aint enough.
And gawd NY with Crawford is a HORRIBLE idea. There would be absolutely NO ball movement, shit would look like a game of 21 or 33.
- :bluu:
Crawford worked in Atl off the bench. Coaching is the problem with the defense, Billups is old but he’s not that bad defensively. That stupid 7 sec offense makes it impossible to even think about playing D.
