I like the signing but I also liked the Blake signing. We have about 100 SF’s but not a reliable starting SF.
That and the pg situation needs to be addressed
Lol Laker fans liking Kapono. Have fun watching a guy who has zero lateral quickness and travels every time he dribbles the ball.
And also he was a Raptor.
Also wanna make a point that you guys seem to like every signing done by the Lakers and then hate them eventually.
Rapid reaction: C’s 2011-12 schedule
"Feeling the Heat: The Celtics play the Heat four times this season, including three times in April. Those games are in Miami on Dec. 27 and April 10, and in Boston on April 1 and 24.
The NBA’s best rivalry: Boston hosts the Lakers on Thursday, Feb. 9, then visit Los Angeles on Sunday, March 11.
The most grueling stretch: That visit to the Lakers is a back-to-back, as the Celtics also play the Clippers the next night. It ignites a five-games-in-seven-days stretch stops in Golden State on Wednesday before a back-to-back in Sacramento and Denver. Coming back from the west coast, the Celtics make stops in Atlanta, Milwaukee and Philadelphia as part of a killer eight-game road trip.
The easiest stretch: The Celtics can dig in and enjoy much of January. After playing in Washington on New Year’s Day, Boston plays only one other road game (Jan. 14 at Indiana) over the next three weeks. There’s eight home games during that stretch.
National attention: Boston plays 24 nationally televised games, including 10 games on TNT, 10 on ESPN, and four ABC Sunday matchups (Feb. 12 vs. Chicago, March 4 vs. New York, March 11 at Lakers, April 1 vs. Miami)."
lakers fans are too delusional. they expect 10/10’s at every position and want to trade anyone who isn’t a one.
can’t wait for the trade gasol rants to come back. dude is a top 5 pf, but that doesn’t matter to laker fans…
lakers should have to go into full rebuild mode like a normal team. they use too many cheat codes as is, how about you build up like someone planning for the future instead of making lopsided trades that are sketch to get great short term?
We need someone to hit open shots Kapono could do that. Not everybody you pickup is going to be a allstar/superstar you also need specialist at certain positions.
Hating useless players come with expectations
Should have expected Subt-L to come in with his usually hating.
So as long as he hits open shots you are fine? That’s cool.
But remember what you say so I don’t have to quote your post at season’s end.
I actually don’t like this kapono in the works signing, but it does address a need for a shooter. With Shannon Brown about to walk, the last thing the lakers need is another SF. This all but assures that they may go after ramon sessions or pick up baron from anmesty, or trust steve blake to run the offense. No matter what happens, I don’t expect Fisher to be starting any game this season.
pretty much guarantee boston goes 0-4 to MIAMI this year

The lakers currently have 3 SF, one of them being luke, who knew all it took was them signing Jason Kapono to overflood the position. I think this signing means they will amnesty luke(possibly MWP), which makes me happy by proxy. Hey if the guy actually produces something for the team then I will upgrade my ruling to “good shit Mitch”.
I do not hate the idea of picking up baron on waivers.
“lol lakers fans want baron? enjoy his overweight wash up ass! I HATE LAKURZ TOO GUISE GIVE ME HOOD CRED PLZ.”
B. Diddy would be ridiculous on the Lakers because he would care again. When this dude wants to ball, he can be a Top 5 PG. I’ll catch flack for this, but a B. Diddy that wants to win is better than Chris Paul and Deron Williams.
Sad to hear that the Clippers and OKC won’t be coming to Toronto this year. There was another team also, but I can’t remember at the moment.
Jamaal Magloire is though, apparently.
Exactly what we need, an all-star paired up with our solid core. Raptors in 4.
OH SHIT BIG CAT COMING HOME TO ROOST YALL

Yeah, that is a crazy thing to say.
What was a good Baron Davis year, when he “wanted to win?” Let’s say that magical year they upset the Mavs, let’s cherry pick that as Baron’s top year.
Baron’s 2006-2007 season…
20.1 points, 4.4 boards, 2.1 steals, 8.1 assists / 3.1 TOs, FG% .439, 1.6 FTAs at 63.4%, no defense.
Chris Paul’s career average…
18.7 points, 4.6 boards, 2.4 steals, 9.9 assists / 2.5 TOs, FG% .471, 5.4 FTAs at 85.3%, amazing defense.
Chris Paul has been better every single year he’s been in the league than Baron’s best year, let’s try not to get these two guys mixed up ever again.

Can’t go wrong with a 1-time all star. He’ll challenge Bargnani for that 5 spot.

The only stat Paul has over him is FT % - everything else is pretty much even. However, what has Paul done in the playoffs? Not a thing. Davis has a history of showing out in big games, especially in the playoffs. Sent the top seed in the West home in the first round.
My point stands, when Davis actually wants to play > Chris Paul
Don’t let his recent indifference allowed you to get it messed up.
NBA announces Kevin Durant nerfs
“Rip-through” moves, in which an offensive player swings the ball into a defender’s outstretched arm and then attempts a shot once he has created contact, will be considered non-shooting fouls if the contact begins before the offensive player starts his shooting motion.
And Dwyane Wade nerfs
Also, on drives to the basket, a shooting foul will be called only if contact occurs after the offensive player has begun his shooting motion, not after he has initiated his leap toward the basket.
And Andrew Bynum nerfs
Referees also will be hyper-vigilant about defenders making contact with offensive players when they’re in the air and fully extended attempting to score. In most cases, expect that kind of foul to draw a Flagrant Level 2, which is two free throws, possession of the ball and the defender being ejected.

EDIT: derp
It is a nice game the graphics and the speed has improved allot than the older versions.
damn, kd is gonna score like 4-5 points less per game.
i like the changes though. emphasis on empowering the defender is good stuff. i think it will still be judgement calls still though, but at least they can lean a bit towards the defender’s side of the argument now.
