I almost finished completing the installation of the TE kitty in my TE stick. As I got around to step 14 and tried to put it into xbox mode, I noticed it wasn’t working and the turbo function wasn’t working altogether. I found out that the ribbon from the TE board to the TE kitty was damage and I do not think it will be able to be replaced. The very bottom of the H ribbon that was attached to the TE board was torn out as I was screwing down the TE board to the kitty board. Is There anyway to repair this or can I buy replacement ribbons? Thanks.
The ones from the Kitty to the main board for H will either be one of the 6 pin ribbons included with the Kitty (TE based models) or the uber complicated ribbon in the TE-S or VS harnesses. If it’s one of the TE-S or VS harnesses, just order another harness; if that’s all you need, send me a PM with your paypal info and I’ll send an invoice with first class shipping so the shipping doesn’t break the bank. If its the basic six pin ribbon that came with the Kitty, you’ll have to fix it or get a replacement from me; same thing, send a PM and I’ll send a PP invoice for it with cheap shipping. If you’re not in the US, I can’t send it any cheaper than what shipping normally costs through the website.

Hey guys,
I just finished my mod and everything appears to be working except that two of my buttons. I tested the Xbox 360 and everything is legit. But when on PS3 the RT and LT are not working. The LB is working, however the LED for it is not working. My assumption is that this would have something to do with the CN2 cable. So here are 3 pictures that I took to try and show how I have those connected. Any help would be appreciated. Trying to make sure I have this mod up and working so I can start my Remora ARCEYE3 mod lol. Thanks!
Update: I moved the plug from the inside one on the TE Kitty to the outside one and all the buttons work. Only the LED for the LB is not working. I think I should be good then. Time to move on to the Ramora
Toodles,
I sent you a PM regarding an issue I am having with a Kitty install. Any help you can give would be awesome.
Thanks!
I watched the video, and just want to make sure Im understanding the symptoms you’re describing.
- Connected to a PS3 console, the Turbo LED for the Y/Triangle buttons is always on. Pushing the physical button DOES cause a reaction from the LED controller, but does NOT cause any reaction on the PS3 console.
- On an Xbox360, pushing the physical button DOES cause a reaction from the Xbox360 game.
It should be easy to figure out where the problem lies, but I need some more information to be able to narrow it down. Please go through and find me the answers to these questions and it should be obvious.
- When plugged into an Xbox360 console, does the Turbo LED for the Y button remain lit when the button is NOT pressed?
- When plugged into an Xbox360 console, does the Turbo LED for the Y button light up when the button IS pressed?
- When plugged into an Xbox360 console, after you enable turbo for the Y button (by holding Turbo, pressing and releasing Y, then releasing Turbo), does the Turbo LED light up?
- When plugged into a PC, when you go into the Properties for the arcade stick (Start->Run->“control joy.cpl”, click TE Kitty, click Properties’) with nothing on the stick pressed, are any of the numbered buttons lit up in the properties window, or all they all dark?
- When plugged into a PC, when you go into the Properties for the arcade stick (Start->Run->“control joy.cpl”, click TE Kitty, click Properties’) do any of the numbered buttons light up in the properties window when you press the Y button?
The photo you sent, which I think came from the install guide, is correct. From that picture’s point of view, if the connector fits in and is 2 wires, gap, 3 wires, then there’s a problem with the cable. Snap me a photo of that end to verify and I’ll get it replaced. It’s always best to ask in threads though.
Will do. i get back into town on Thursday. I’ll be sure to snap some pictures for you. Both pictures I sent you were actual pictures of my stick and install, not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks again for your help Toodles.
If the second picture was yours, the ribbon cable should be just fine; but please move it from the inside connector to the outside connector on the Kitty otherwise the triggers won’t want to work right.
As for the spring terminals instead of the screw terminals, the process is the same, just the extra grounds have been removed. Pinout:
Never mind… Figured it out
when i receive my shipment i will try to place a kitty in one of the evo sticks. -fingers crossed-
In case I wasn’t clear before, I strongly recommend against it. If you can come up with some cool clean way to pull it off, awesome, I’d love to see it. But Pro cases are a PITA with the Kitty, and I dont expect the Evo stick to be any different.
I sent you a PM yesterday regarding this issue. Thanks.
I’m not sure if I did anything wrong, but I got my Spark and Kitty installed in my Blazblue TE. Everything works fine and all, but the only thing I noticed that was wrong was that when I go into 360 mode on my PC, the upper left LED on the guide button doesn’t light up. Also when I plug my stick into my 360, the upper left (player 1) and the bottom right (player 4) LEDs on the guide button stay on. Everything works fine other than that, but I was wondering if it means I did anything wrong or is that normal?
Obviously if it works for what you need, that’s good, but that behavior doesn’t sound normal at all. Can you describe in more detail what all does or doesn’t work properly on the stick so I can narrow down possible fault areas? For instance, do all of the turbo LEDs light up properly on press in PS3/PC Kitty mode? Do they light up properly in Xbox360 mode when you turn on turbo for that button? Does Turbo and Guide work? Lock switch? LS/DP/RS Slider? Do the guide LEDs properly match the direction the joystick is in in PS3/PC Kitty mode? When you plug the stick into a 360, turn it off (with the stick still plugged in) and turn it back on via guide/start button, do the LEDs turn off (when system is off)? Do the LEDs do the spinny thing that the power button of the console does when started up?
no worries. i already done 3 pro stick mods with the kitty. each one was different lol. they cleanest way look would be to shave the edges of the pillars for the 360 pcb then the kitty just slides in place with other minor shavings for clearance. Although having small space, wiring is cluttered. but not a big deal. other ways are to mount on the backside of the case which is better for wiring but need to create support or mount to not allow any pcb movement.
my first one i did but got re-wired/mounted

Hi toodles, about compatibility the vlx is suitable for vx-sa? I have a chance to buy a cheap one so…
Tackled the install today. Took my time and got it mostly right on the first shot, had a improperly seated USB-out data wire. Once I fixed that it was good to go! Thanks Toodles!
Got everything installed in my stick. Yanked the original USB cable out, soldered direct from the 360 PCB to the Kitty, then soldered the stock cable into the kitty and everything works great!
Since I moved the buttons around for a proper button layout (the SC5 stick button labels are Bizarre for any other fighting game) the LEDs don’t match up right. otherwise, I love it.
Question. Has anybody tried doing this with a hori vx?
hey toodles
i had a quick question, i just got, and installed the kitty on my round 1 xbox. everything works flawless on my xbox/pc, as happy as can be, but on my ps3 all the buttons but my r2 work as suppose to. ie if i were to mash a button on training mode i get rapid fire input displays on everything except my r2. in this case it fires off only once in about every 5 to 7 attempts. it works just not constantly and nothing like it does on my xbox/pc. the led light will fire on trigger every time time, so i know it’s getting something it’s just not sending it out to my ps3, or my ps3 is just not reading it. on pc i have it as Kitty TE Edition. i can post vids and pics if need be.
edit, seems to happen if i push a direction (mainly down) and a button on ps3. if i just hit r2 only it seems to work okay with a few misfires (outta 7 rapid taps i get 2 or 3 that don’t register). everything else is fine and works great just that one damn button! again on pc/xbox everything works great. and all the leds display on push every time.
edit 2, i just tried reseating all my usb wires, and still the same issue. at this point i have no idea what to do? agian i can post pics if need be.
edit 3 - photos
usb view 1
usb view 2
board view 1
board view 2
edit 4 - toodles you rock! everything is working as should be, see thispostif your having the same issue.
thanks.
