Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

Definitely a ribbon problem then. Check over the ones from the VS/TES harness kit and see if there’s anything obviously wrong you can try to put into place immediately, but if you cant see anything, pm me your paypal address and zip code so I can get a replacement sent out.

Is there an ETA on the revised kits or is this pretty far out?

They would have been far out but Evo came and robbed me blind of all of my TE Kitty kits. Any TE Kitty sold after this point will be the new revised model. So if you’re wanting one, go nuts, they’re shipping.

Awesome! Placing order now.

I asked this in the noobie thread but I guess it’s better put in here:

I’m going to put a kitty in a SCV stick. The SCV stick has a bizarre button layout

X Y B
A LT RT

instead of the usual

X Y RB
A B RT

If I just swap the buttons round to the usual layout will that then mean the kitty function of activating the turbo lights will be buggered? (i.e. If I press B the turbo light for RB comes on, etc)

Yep. The ‘X=upper left LED’ type assignment is all done in the LED panel itself.

I guess I can put up with that instead having a strange layout

Thanks for the reply.

Is the only revision the trigger-saving circuitry or are there other surprises?

The ten screw terminals were swapped for spring loaded terminals, that’s the only noticable change. I realized that I was stuck in pad hack mentality on the 4066 switch so rearranged things in a way that should be far more reliable, but not any visible impact for anyone. Those and the trigger fix are the only changes I can remember.

i’m excited to put this TE Kitty in my stick. ordered from gdlk.co saturday night got the confirmation email this morning and now I wait for it. thanks toodles.

I’ve been giving serious thought to ordering a TE Kitty, but I have a question; possibly a dumb one… I was looking at the instructions and at one point, it mentioned toggling the LS/DP/RS switch and holding turbo to make it use the 360 PCB. When I’m actually using the joystick – once the TE Kitty is installed – do I need to do anything special or is it plug-and-play?

That’s only when you want to use the 360 mode on a PC. Kitty mode on PC is better for just about anything, but I wanted there to be the option.
On a real Xbox360 console, it autodetects. Just plug it in and it works.

Ah, awesome! Thanks for the quick reply/answer.

This is kinda stupid, but I used the Kitty last night with my JPSX to play DDR with the 4 buttons mapped to the bottom row on my TE, since you can’t remap in-game.

I’m now thinking of other games I don’t play on stick due to lack of good remapping. NBA Jam TE didn’t allow you to map 3 buttons in a row, I oughta fire that up soon

So I got the version 1.4 TE Kitty kit. When I’m connecting the USB cord what order should I do it in? It doesn’t look the same as the screw in set like in the instructions. The instructions has 10 spots this only has 8 wire spots.

Order is the same as the screw terminals except without the extra GND.

Just ordered my TE Kitty!

Question: I attempted to play HDR on the ps3 and my stick will not function when in game. Buttons do but stick will not work. however when i am in the XBM works fine.

Known issue, switch the stick to LS. This will work fine on the Kitty, you won’t get any input weirdness like on the normal MadCatz PCB.

I seem to recall MVC2 and Puzzle Fighter both do this too.

Capcom…
