Dunno if you can see but it looks like the green and black wires are tangled so I’m guessing I’ll redo that and probly get more length from those wires as well and redo the taping. What exactly happens when that loose copper is touching something else?

I’m confused by this; you are using both the usual built-in USB cable, and also trying with a seperate RJ45->USB cable, and getting the same results?
Okay, that’s a good start. The LEDs around the guide button are showing that the board is in the bootloader and running, a very good sign. The very first place to start looking over is the wires going into the USB screw terminals. If youre RJ45->USB cable worked previously when it was working fine before, you should remove all of the wires from the screw terminals, make sure they’re safe and not touching anything, including each other, and try the firmware update gain using the RJ45->USB cable instead of the built in cable.
Oh boy. Yeah, that needs redone and cleaned up. See how easy the copper from the green wire could touch the copper of the black wire? Do that and nothing will work. You want no exposed copper more than you need to make contact with the screw terminals.
I had the weirdest side effect this evening. I was playing like normal when out of nowhere pressing the B button also pressed the LT button (whatever button is the top right,) AND vise versa. Pressing one presses the other simultaneously. I opened up my case to take a a look but whatever was making the buttons wiring touch each other stopped.
How is your supply of the VLX KITTY’s?
Thanks
- confused part - Yes I tried flashing via the usb screw down and via the separate rj45-usb
- removed all wires from the screw terminals and tried via the rj45-usb, still no go
I have tried on vista 64 and xp 32 same results.
I can put it into boot loader but no computer sees it to flash or sees anything even plugged in.
I have no explanation for that. The LT and B signal wires aren’t ever anywhere close from what I can tell, and if it doesn’t do it anymore, there’s nothing I can give to test for.
If it has a ‘Add to Cart’ button on the site, I have them to sell.
First, need to know how the guide LEDs behave when you plug it in normally with the USB cable (no guide pressed).
After that, pull the Kitty out entirely, plug a known good USB cable into the RJ45 jack directly and check the game controllers’ applet in the control panel. If the bootloader shows up, the window will crash and close on its own. If it goes into normal USB mode, it’ll show up in the window. Let me know how it fairs and we’ll go from there.
The guide lights up 1 - top left corner when plugged in via usb-rj45. (nothing in game control panel)
After completely removing the tekitty from the controller, I plugged in the rj45-usb cable into the computer with the game controllers applet open.
Nothing happened, the game controllers window stayed open, nothing showed up.
I then also tried usb via the screw terminals, same result game controllers window did not close and nothing showed up.
making a video soon. i have my kitty installed in my VS stick and will post the video once i complete the art. good stuff Toodles sir.
Got the Kitty installed in the SFxT Pro today. It was definitely a pain in the ass and the way I secured it is less than optimal but it’s functional and should hold well. I can definitely see why you don’t technically support it, Toodles. It seemed like they could’ve laid out the inside a little better for modding but oh well.
do you happen to have any pics of your layout? i was thinking of modding my fightstick pro soon
Yep, I took that idea! Thanks for posting that, by the way. Mine isn’t secured down as nicely though. I dremeled away a bit more and used the two screw holes along the bottom in the Kitty itself, but yeah that’s where mine is sitting as well.
i have some questions… i just got SCV stick… and i want to get a kitty for it… is the wiring diagram for TE-S the same for the SCV stick?
yes the SCV stick is same as a TE-S. you’ll need the TE-S harness.
kool thanks…
Sorry for the late reply. When I follow the instructions in the readme.txt, once I click “OK” to start the firmware update, a command prompt pops up really quickly and then closes and nothing else happens.
I think I should also point out that when I plug the USB cable into the computer while holding down the guide button, the LEDs light up normally on the guide button but Windows tells me “USB Device Not Recognized”. When holding down the turbo button, nothing pops up at all. Thanks again for your patience.

I have a problem when I try to play melty blood actress again current code for the PC
I am trying to set up ABC as
(A)(B)© where A is X, B is Y and C is RB
When i go into the config it shows like
(A): button 1 [this should be X on the stick]
(B): button 2 [this should be A on the stick]
©: button 3 [this should be B on the stick]
etc.
i set A B C etc by pressing the button on the stick
this makes it
(A): button 1 [this should be X on the stick]
(B): button 4 [this should be Y on the stick]
©: button 6 [this should be RB on the stick]
etc.
(this should be the correct order)
But when I try to play the game the buttons are out of order (I.E. B becomes (A) instead of X becoming (A))
I go back and reset the control scheme to default and manually set the buttons by using my mouse to set which button corresponds to which command and then it works fine after that ((A) is X,(B) is Y, © is RB)
I havent tested this for any other game yet but I’ll update if something strange happens in those games too.
On PS3 with a kitty installed, my stick suddenly stopped responding. The buttons still work fine. There’s a light mod that makes the different parts of the 360 symbol light up when you press directions on the stick and that’s still responding so it’s probably not something dumb like the stick got disconnected internally. Any ideas? Thanks.

There’s a problem with the USB cable. Can you take some upclose photos of the screw terminals please?
LS/DP/RS slider.
I tried that when it stopped working and it didn’t work - It’s set to DP. Although I have opened up my stick in the past to realize that the slider was the problem.
