Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

No problem. I can definitely live without my lock functionality for a couple days. It’s nothing compared to the awesomeness of being able to play SFxT for the PS3 on my new 360 stick.

Thanks for the great support.

Hello Toodles,

i recently installed Kitty on my TE-S. When i was testing i did it too quickly, and forgot testing turbo lights…

it seems to be working either on ps3 and x360…but i felt something weird playing online…so i decided to test like the manual says…

and i found out that when i should see the upper LED player lit it doesnt lit…

what does that mean?

thanks

I’d be happy to help, but I need you to be more specific about exactly what the problem is. Please go into detail about everything that does work and doesn’t work, especially in the game controllers applet on the PC.

ok. At the game controllers applet when i hold down the turbo and press every play button i can see all of the turbo Led’s on, But i dont see the upper left player Led lit, as you says it should.

on pc/ps3 the player 1 LED won’t light up in kitty mode

If you could point out where I said that, I’d appreciate it.
On PS3/PC mode, the guide LEDs will only show the direction the stick is in. If you move the joystick up, the top two LEDs should light. In up/left, only the upper left LED should light. Down is both bottom LEDs, down/right is the bottom right led, etc. Can you please verify that is happening? If it behaves in any other way, please check that the stick is working properly in the game controllers applet, and post up exactly how it is misbehaving.

Step12: Testing:

Quote " Push any of the play buttons and you should see the matching button
in the Test tab light up. Hold down the Turbo button and press each of the eight play
buttons, then let go of Turbo. You should see all of the Turbo LEDs on, and when the
button is pressed, it will flash a bit brighter. You should also see the upper left player
LED lit."

When i do this i cant see the upper left player LED lit.

That should be done after moving the slider to RS and holding down Turbo when plugging in to force the 360 mode. In 360 mode, the madcatz PCB is doing the work, not the Kitty, and will behave just as described. When you plug it in normally, it’ll be in Kitty mode and should behave as I described with the stick.

Any thoughts about a Kitty, or really small-form “Chimp”-like PCB setup for the fightpad (both sf4/sfxt) line? It would require soldering, yes, but having a dualmod pad would be awesome to carry around.

I saw the dualmod that someone else did a while back that used the Imp v1 + bits of project board. Just wondered if a more streamlined approach would/could be possible.

you’re looking for a dual strike SMD or a dremeled down mc-cthulhu like gummo has done previously

I dont see it happening. The amount of effort it would save wouldn’t be that much, the amount of work required on my part would be way large, and the market for it would be pretty slim. I have other pad ideas, but not for the madcatz fightpads. But that’s way down the to do list.

It is just more economical to own a SFxTekken pad for each system. Carrying both of them to a tournament is still less bulky than most arcade sticks.

i am hype!

I just got a look at your website, Toodles, and I saw the RJ45>GC cable. Any chance of more consoles in the future?

I hope to.

Hey. Got the replacement cable, swapped it in, and everything is working great. Thanks so much, Toodles. You are the man.

If I keep the original back button intact on a Neutrik install, does that affect the Back/Turbo functionality of the TE Kitty in any way (ie. does the turbo button still function as back)?

The turbo button will function as the back button and turbo. For turbo you just hold it and push the button you want turbo.

Awesome. Sorry about sending the bum one.

Turbo will be both the turbo button and back. If that’s a problem, theres a label on the bottom of the board “T=T+Sel” pointing to a shiny little trace pretty far from anything else. Else that trace with a Xacto and it’ll stop; turbo will be turbo only. But I’d recommend leaving it as is.

I feel like im doing something wrong. I have the 360 blazblue TE stick. So the connection on the right is a 5 pin and following the instructions i think i have the cable going to the right spot on the PCB but its a 6 pin connection. Can you tell me what im doing wrong

Here’s a picture of what i got so far
