Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

Hey toodles! Just purchased a kitty board! hope it will be a clean install with a Sparky PWM!

Thanks for all the hard work!

After TE kitty and TE-s harness installation into chun li TE-s stick, when I test it, all the buttons light up on the led board according to the button pressed except the green button. When I press the green button, it lights up on joystick.cpl but not on the led board. I was afraid the button wasn’t working but when I plug it into the PS3 and press it, it works. What is the problem or is this normal?

Just installed my TE_Kitty last night after ordering on recommendation from a GAFer. Installed it last night and everything was fine the first time I plugged it in. I only had trouble with getting those tiny 22 gauge wires to stay put in the screw terminals. but it was because I decided to just do them by hand. holding them in place AND screwing was a bitch. next time, needle nose pliers and some device to hold them in place will be the way forward. I would have saved myself at least an hour.

Great product, man. Hope business is going swimmingly for these devices because they’re simply fantastic.

So the bottom of my kitty board looks just like the one in that post.
I don’t really care that the one light doesn’t work.
All the buttons seem to work which is most important.
Thanks for a great product.

Also, the USB wires that are connected to the TE PCB, I cut them really short because I messed up the first two times haha.
Can I get new wires for the red/green/white/black to replace the one on there or is there another option?

the wires going between the 360 pcb and kitty? you don’t even need the existing ones. I desolder the cable from the 360 pcb completely, and run my own under the board to the kitty.
The only two that you absolutely need are the green and white (data +/-) the ground and vcc are shared at other points between the boards, but its nice to have the hard soldered in my opinion.

I just used some extra wires (about six inches each) and connected them to the USB wires by twisting and covering with heat shrink tubing. The extra lenght makes a huge difference in getting them into the screw terminals.

To be perfectly honest, if you are capable of soldering, you will be way better served by soldering to the through holes immediately to the right of the screw terminals. Those ten holes are directly connected to the same ten screw terminals, and you will have a much more reliable connection using them.

I probably will later, but I wanted to make sure everything worked properly before getting the iron out.

Never mind. My inexperience with a PS3 is shining through. I had one of the wireless controllers turned on and once i turned it off and plugged my TE back in everything worked fine.

I’ll just take this opportunity to say, once again, that Toodles is the man  The FG community is lucky to have you.

just ordered TWO kittens =]

here is mine after the first attempt. i did rewire afterwards though because of excess wiring

Damn I wish I would have looked on here right before I did it. I just finished it, but I ended up having to taking a dremmel to it just to make room. Appreciate your help though.

At least everything works and LEDs are just a nice little addition. =) Now I’m just waiting for that optical stick…

BTW, this installation couldn’t have been easier. Toodles made this process brainless. Thanks!

Now if I could just get my hands on one myself so I could make some instructions for it, that’d be swell. :frowning:

i still dremeled but. I did some dremeling and some shaving to get her to fit. what instructions you need toodles. I can prolly make a short vid if i have all the parts and what not sir?

Does the VLX version work for the Hori SCV stick?
Thanks

Does not.

OK complete noob here. Is this because the buttons are soldered to sticks board?
Also (general question) you need Kitty + Cthulhu to dual mod?

Thanks again.

Because the VLX Kitty was made to work with the connectors in the VLX.
HORI SCV does not use the connectors that VLX has.

Kitty is PlayStation 3 Controller.
Cthulhu is PlayStation 3 Controller.

Would it make sense to Dual Mod two PlayStation 3 PCB together?
Laugh.

Lol. The description confused me a little. Thanks for explaining.
