Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

Can add 1 fully working in Australia. Thank you very much Toodles

Board arrived to Finland too. Need to try installing it maybe on weekend.

Almost got mine working, I think. When I test the buttons the LEDs light up, but the A and B buttons both light up the A and B LEDs. So when I press the A button, I get two LEDs to light up, and the same two LEDs light up when I press B. Every other button only lights up one LED. Ideas on fixing this problem?

Plug it into a PC normally for Kitty mode. Press A or B, and see if more than one buttons lights up in the control panel applet.
If only one button lights up, but two LEDs light up, short somewhere between Kitty and LED board. If two light up, short between button signals and physical button.
Post up which you see, and whether you’re using a TE Kitty by itself, or with a TE-S harness and we’ll go from there.

Both buttons light up in the game controllers applet. I’ve got a Kitty with a TE-S harness.

Can you take some pictures, especially of the ‘5’ ribbon cable?
Was the stick modding with anything else previously?

Got my TE Kitty last week and I installed it today. So far everything works perfectly. The installation went decently except for stripping the white/green USB wire and getting those bastards to stay put in screw terminal. My wire stripper couldn’t handle those small wires so I tried with a knife/wire cutter/nail clipper and so forth but I couldn’t get a nice and clean wire. Got a little frustrated so I yelled fuck it and burned the insulation of with a lighter. Got the job done but the fumes gave me a headache .

Shipping cost $14 to Europe and took about 8-9 days if anyone is curious.

Thanks for an awesome product!

It properly handles SOCDs, but it can’t clean them; it doesn’t have the ability to change the directions sent to the Xbox360 board. All of the Kitty consoles will behave properly in the face of SOCDs, but how it behaves on Xbox360 is entirely up to the Xbox360 board.
Short answer, you’re fine on everything but Xbox360. On Xbox360, it’ll behave however it would normally behave. If its a big issue for you, it wouldn’t be difficult to add in an SOCD cleaning board so you’d be cool there as well, but it would definitely take additional hardware.

Here’s the pictures, though I don’t know how much help they’ll be as I don’t have any decent kind of camera available.

The stick was previously unopened and working perfectly. I have tried both of the connections at the Kitty PCB, and the result was the same for each.

Yeah I cant make out much. How about this: remove the two ribbon cables connecting TE, Kitty, and button distro board, the ‘5’ and ‘6’ ribbon. Put back in the two ribbon cables that were originally there, connecting the CN2 spots on the TE board and distro block, and the CN1 spots on the TE board an distro block. The buttons wont be connected to the Kitty, but they will be connected to the 360 board. Plug it into a 360 and try out the A and B buttons.

The description definitely sounds like a short between the A and B signals. I’m just trying to narrow down where the short is so it can be fixed.

The buttons work normally when using the original ribbon cables and connected to a 360. I also remember that both buttons lit up in the controller applet when it was hooked up in 360 mode and Kitty mode.

I’m sure it did before the install; I wanted to see if the problem would still occur with everything else as is but with the original ribbons connecting the main board to the distro board.

My Kitty just arrived safely here in Spain, I will install it this weekend.

With the original ribbons connecting the main TE board and button distro board the A and B buttons work properly while the stick is connected to a 360.

On a side note, I took a real close look at each of the connectors on the “5” ribbon cable, and discovered a small silver strand connecting two of the terminals at the TE connector. I severed that strand and now the buttons are all working perfectly. Thank you very much for your time and for developing the Kitty. I probably would have needed a trip to the emergency room if I’d tried to solder anything.

Im glad you found it and were able to get it fixed. Enjoy, tell your friends.

Just installed the board, and now my joystick doesn’t work. Anyone have a solution to this?

EDIT: Fixed it, didn’t push the grey insulated cable down far enough >.>
