I originally stated that the Japan te was te s style but I was wrong (even though I swear that start button didn’t work when locked) but when I opened it up there was only a 6 button harness not 7 on the middle row of turbo pcb
Those descriptions sounds spot on perfect, and give reason to believe the 360 board IS properly seeing and reacting to the LS/DP/RS slider.
What exactly is it doing that you think it shouldn’t, or not doing that you think it should?
When it’s plugged into the 360 with the slider set to LS/RS the stick doesn’t register anything on the system. I used to be able to navigate the dashboard on LS, but now only DP seems to work. I also tested RS to see if I could make an avatar look around and that didn’t seem to be working either.
Well, since you’re being so super-helpful to everyone here, I figured I should show my support and go with a TE Kitty. I’m not afraid of a little installation; I work with PCBs all the time. Additional console support is just a bonus.
Also, I went ahead and got a JLF-TE cable because, well, I have a job. I can afford it. It’s worth $9 to not have to crack my stick open every time the contacts decide to be finicky.
Looking forward to it getting here! Just in time for UMvC3.
I’d suggest trying it out on specific games where you need the LS or RS support. Your description still leads me to believe it’s working fine.

just wanted to say that I got everything working perfectly after I wired everything up. and a quick question: the firmware enhancements, e.g. on the fly button remapping and the custom usb string, are those specific to the Kitty Firmwares, or were they also ported to the firmware for the ChimpSMD and Cthulhu? (this is me assuming that they have different firmwares)
Man Toodles I just check the installation proccess for these board and it’s almost noob proof. All you have to do is plug in the wires as instructed. I think I might just start using these to dual mod for people. Make a little bit less money but god the work it will save me lol.
That’s what I’m doing. Unless someone has a damn good reason to not use the Kitty, that’s what I’m pushing on them. It’s well worth the time saved.
USB string update is doable in the MC Cthulhu, but can’t be done by editing the firmware file; theres a command line executable thats kinda rough to run in Windows that does it. I’d like to get the remapping ported to the Chimp and MC but other things currently have priority. Glad its working for you though!

Toodles, I have a question. When i plug in the stick with GUIDE held down the first time i get the whole guide button lit and 2 or 3 of the turbo LEDs lit. Some of the buttons still light up when pressed, but some don’t.
If i plug it in without anything pressed its recognized as TE Kitty or whatever and works great. After that if I un plug and replug with the guide held down i get the 1 and 4 player lights lit and none of the buttons (aka working as it should)
Starting in 360 mode with RS and turbo works properly and everything works fine. I was even able to flash the firmware ok. I was just curious if that first issue was something you knew of?
I dont see how thats possible without something being changed between the first and later when everything works. Can you cause it to happen again (without opening the stick)?

Yep happens every time, even without rebooting my pc or anything like that. It makes no sense, but everything else is working perfectly so I’m not gonna mess with it. Can weird stuff happen if i hold guide too long or something?
I think I need a more in depth description of what’s happening.
toodles, I just wanted to find out if there is any PiiWee functionality built into the kitty? And is there any links out there for using the kitty with dreamcast? I have a 360 MvC TE that I am planning to mod with a kitty, and I want to make it as widely compatible as possible…xbox, wii, 360, PS2/3, and PC, trying to have 1 stick to rule them all
