yeah me too:) an thats the same 1 correct the ebay link one? u think it could be the kitty to the jack cable even though the dreamcast and ps2 rj45 cables work fine? also will these usb to xbox cable work fine with the mc board? i tired it with the duel modded stick 360 pad/ your ps3 board but it didn’t work
I’m running Windows Vista 64 bit. After unplugging pulling out the wires from the screw terminal that go to the main TE board and plugging it into the PC I get this for both bootloader and normal mode:

After taking some intiative, which could have ultimately screwed me over, I uninstalled the TE drivers. Then I proceeded to plug the TE kitty in bootloader mode. This is what I got:

And know I’m scared… o_O
Got my VLX and Kitty board at the same time. I came all over myself.
Installation was easy and smooth. So good.
A+++++++++++++++++++
And free stickers?! Have my babies, Toodles. Yes homo.
- Yes.
- It’s possible; there’s one wire used by the xbox not used in those two.
- Yes.
- It wont work with a PS3/PC Cthulhu; it doesnt have Xbox1 support.
Can you pull up the details tab for the unknown device in bootloader mode? Specifically, I want to see if there is a VID/PID pair in the ‘Hardware ID’ section.
ah thanks toodles in the future i may need 2 or 3 fully assembled mc boards how much extra would you charge each to soilder the rj45 cable on the boards for me ?
Appreciated. I just wanted to verify that the upper left and lower right guide LED come on when you plug it in in bootloader mode, is that correct? Any chance you have an RJ-45 to USB cable to test with?
I dont have the ability to do that at the moment.
Yes the 1 and 4 LED lights are lit in bootloader mode. I made a RJ-45 to USB and it worked in 360 mode. So do you want me to do the same through the RJ 45 jack?
I took the liberty and tested repeated the process using the RJ 45 jack. I got the same results both in and out of bootloader mode.
Well crap. The RJ-45 is how I test the bootloader and program the main code to the board. The description definitely sounds like something messing up with the connection of the USB data wires between the main chip and the 4066. What I’d like for you to do is to pull the Kitty out of the stick completely. With the board just by itself, take another swing by plugging the board in with just that RJ-45 to USB cable. Worst case scenario, it behaves the same, and I’ll have to swap you out. Best case scenario, it works, in which case we’d have to slowly put it in connecting one cable at a time until we can determine what was messing with the USB.
Good news! Plugging in the bare board caused no USB error message. So… I am assuming that I would have to plug in one of the four wires into the outgoing to determine where the problem area lies.
Did it show up as a Kitty TE Edition in the game controllers applet?
If so, then yeah. Unplug the RJ-45 -> USB, screw down the four wires for the outgoing USB cable, and test again. If all is good, plug the ribbons between the kitty and button distro block, and test. Joystick cable, and test. three ribbon cables to the LED daughterboard, and test. Four USB wires between Kitty and TE board, and test. Then one ribbon cable between the TE board and Kitty board, and test, repeat until complete.
Sucks, but you’ll find it, or the problem was caused by a short from a stray piece of wire or screw.
Yes it showed up as TE Kitty in the game controllers applet.
Unpluged the RJ-45 to USB jack. Screwed in the four outgoing and test. USB error message occurred. So there must be a problem between the outgoing section of the TE board and the main chip?
just got my VLX Kitty replacement board and
PS3/PC test: ok!
360 test: ok!
thanks Toodles for all your help and hard work yo!! someone give this guy an award
Glad to hear it, I still feel bad about sending you abum one to begin with. I’ll autopsy it as soon as I can.
With the outgoing USB cable going to the screw terminals, but not plugged into the PC, does the RJ-45 -> USB cable still work or does it stop working?
It stops working.
That annoying sound you here is actually progress being made.
Did you crimp the RJ-45 cable yourself? If so, and you’re willing to do it again in the near future, would you be up for cutting the RJ-45 connector off, exposing the USB wires therein and putting those in the outgoing USB screw terminals?
Lol… I was in the US Army signal core. I know troubleshooting trust me. It doesn’t quite bother me too much. I did make the cable myself. Tomorrow morning I will definitely strip it and test it that way. Thanks for your patience Toodles.
I have a problem, I have an original pcb board or TE, but dare not buy I have loose wires. can you buy suletos?. Toodle you can sell the pcb with the kitty.
Does the TE Kitty work with a Brawlstick???
