Can you be more specific? A screen shot of this dialog box you click that goes away would do wonders.
oh sorry! heres the steps i go through …
ill run the the kitty editor (kitty.exe)
update firmware and select vlxkitty_complete_11.hex
first dialog box comes up asking me to hold guide/home button now and plug in
ill plug in and get USB not recognized
ill click ok and then second dialog box opens asking permission to run program.
click ok and then nothing happens. well i dont think anything happens.
At that point, when you plug it in with Guide held down and the USB Device not recognized pops up, are the two (upper left and lower right) green LEDs on on the stick?
At a guess, the command prompt windows is just opening and closing too fast for you to read anything, and the VLX isn’t connecting over USB like it should. Since the guide button does force this, we know the 7 pin from daughterboard to kitty is on right, but there’s a good chance the outgoing USB cable is plugged into the wrong spot on the kitty.
If the connection for the USB is 100% going to the right spot, please remove the black box from the stick, and all of the ribbons not connected to the stick itself. Take the Kitty, plug the outgoing USB cable and plug it into the USB_OUT spot in the upper left corner of the Kitty. Take the 7 pin connector from the daughterboard and plug it into “VLX7_TO_DAUGHTER” on the Kitty ; those two and ONLY those two connected to the Kitty. Not even the big honking stick and button connector should be plugged into the Kitty. Try the bootloader again using the same steps; let me know how it goes.
when i do plug in holding guide I do get the upper left and lower right LEDs on for bootloader.
and ive done exactly what you have asked
and still coming up im still coming up with the same results of it not being recognized.

that would be a negative on the LEDs when only 7 to daughter and USB out are the only ones plugged in.

Herp derp Im a dumbass. The Guide LEDs wouldnt come on in that situation even if everything was perfect. Sorry for the stupid question)
Looks like you’re running windows 7. Plug it in with Guide held down. If the USB error comes up, no biggie, just give it like 15 seconds from when you plug it in before continuing. Click on Start, go to Devices and Printers. If the bootloader part was working, there’d be an entry with just the ‘G’ in the ‘Unspecified’ category. If you have that, or anything that looks like a bad device, right click it, Properties, and click Hardware tab and let me see what it says.
(Im just trying to verify if the perhaps the bootloader is showing up after the error message, just in case. Better to know and test for a possible solution tonight rather than a guaranteed solution a few days from now)
And please use a known good USB port directly on your PC or laptop case, no hubs, just to be sure.
Bedtime. If you could try on another PC, that’d be awesome, same if you have an RJ-45 to USB cable to use. Otherwise, Im not really seeing any options outside of replacement. Let me know what you find and we’ll get you squared away.

So, uh, I’ve got exactly one TE Kitty left. An order for more has been made, but Evo wiped me out faster than I expected. I’ll be trying to get more together as soon as possible, but it’ll be around 6-8 weeks before I’m truly restocked. Do you have any idea yet when you’ll have the fixed TE-S harnesses? I don’t want to screw with prying off the plastic pieces if I don’t have to.
Fixed one came in about 2 weeks ago and have been going out ever since.
Last TE from this batch is paid for, so I’m now official out of stick of TE Kitty’s until I get more in from the factory. I’ll be sure to post up when they arrive.

Just did. Worked fine in the EvoX dashboard and CvS2 game.
Any chance you’re testing this on SoulCalibur 2? Because other than that, it should work just peachy.
