i tried it on a game and i pressed every button and every direction with both xbox cables but it does nothing
Toodles, I’d like to purchase a TE-S Kitty kit, was wondering if these are still available.
also, what is the eta to Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Thanks
making a overview video this weekend for the kitty board Toodles. Just had a convention to go to and stick work. my next order of kitty pcbs can i order 1 rj45 cable to usb? idk what i am doing wrong with my cable making. all others work fine…just my rj45 to usb cables bite…
I can make one out of a cheapy 6" white cord easy enough, but I dont think I can pull one off with the 15"ers I have.
Hi Toodles, I bought a TE Kitty from you at EVO. I am a huge noob and didn’t realize I would need a different kit to install the board into my TE-S. Is there anything I can do about this on my own? Can I just get by installing the board without the TE-S required ribbons?
Not in any supported fashion, nah. TE-S Kit would be $5, and shipping for it alone would be $2 for first class in the US, so $7 total would cover you for the harness.
TES Kitty guide has been updated and uploaded to correct an error about which ribbon is removed and actually have you plug in the joystick connector.
DNS issues are resolved, so all links should be working fine. Please dont hesitate to let me know of any problems in the guides, the links, or anything else.
I’ve not heard of any problems running a VLX kitty on an Xbox1. Do you have any way of testing the Xbox1 RJ45 cable on another MC Cthulhu or Kitty stick? I’ll try to test mine out later today just to confirm.
Got quite a few, but I am getting down there and will need to order more made here shortly.
ETA with the $12 shipping is usually around 1.5 weeks. They say it should be 10 business days, but in my experience its just over a week to bigger Canadian cities. Worst case, two weeks. Unfortunately, the priority mail shipping has no internation tracking worth a damn, and going to express EMS shipping is very very expensive, I would guess a minimum of $20 more.
Na this is my only one it lights up on da vlx wHen I plug it in top left light but don’t register to work
i have the kitty installed in my vlx, now once i was done i tried to hold guide and plug it into my pc but my leds didn’t light up. So i replugged everything and did it again the leds still didn’t light up. kitty was installed and i check the buttons in game controllers. all the buttons worked fine. for 360 everything is golden however for ps3 the buttons are all messed up.
the main prooblem is since my leds don’t light up, but my buttons all work fine, im not sure how to re-map the buttons for ps3…i tried holding guide and down back but since i can’t see leds go on or off im @ a cross roads
I think this may help you… it was asked by ibeatu…
If you hold the Guide button down when plugging into a PC, that should force it into bootloader mode; its only for updating the firmware, and the upper left and lower right LEDs would be on.
If you plug it into a PC without anything held down (normal joystick mode), then the Guide LEDs would not do anything except mimic the direction the stick is pointing. If the stick is pressed right, the two LEDs on the right side of the guide button should light up.
Because of the two things you’re describing, I’d bet that when you plug the stick in with Guide held down, it still shows up as a Kitty in the Game Controller’s applet of the control panel. I’d also bet that pressing the guide button does not light up button #13. If I’m right on those guessed, then there is a problem with the 7 pin ribbon cable, specificially the one from the daughterboard to the Kitty; its either not connected, or connected to the wrong spot. Open up your VLX and check it over against the installation guide.
yess its working now the lights are ON!! now where do i go to input this remaping of buttongs how do i find the kitty model to input the sequence?
Hold down turbo and guide and the stick in some direction. After a while, the lights on around the Guide button showing the stick direction will turn off. Let go of everything then. Press the buttons on your stick, one by one, in this order:
1 3 5 7
2 4 6 8
And you’re done.
is anything suppose to pop up on the pc screen?..and am i following the button numbers counting left to right or am i using the numbers in the the kitty test screen in gamer controller? i did this and nothing popped up on screen. the light went off and everything but nothing is showing me that im doing it right?
almost done just last lil bit and i should be up and running
Nothing should pop up on the PC; before you start, the Kitty should be already plugged in, and showing up in the game controller applet.
The button order is the physical buttons on your stick. Jab, short, strong, forward, fierce, roundhouse, etc. Upper left first, lower left second, and zigzag across the buttons.
If the guide LEDs do not light up to match the stick, you’re in the button config mode. just mash buttons until the guide LEDs light up when the stick moves, and start over. Once you’ve pressed the eight buttons in the order I showed, it should save and go back to normal mode with the LEDs lighting up with the stick. That’s it, its configured for a proper PS3 button layout.
I’ve been following along in the thread doing the re-mapping of buttons by holding down turbo and guide in order to get the ps3 setting but I messed up, the order is incorrect. How do I reset? Is there a default setting so that I can start all over again?
You could reflash the firmware if you wanted, but wouldn’t it be easier to just redo the mapping?
i just had time to do this and windows doesnt recognize anything. Doesnt show up in controller applet. i tried to flash the newest firmware and still get nothing.
does the firmware flashing successfully complete, or does it error out?
as soon as i click ok to run the dialog box goes away and nothing happens. am I supposed to get a confirmation of a successful upload?
