Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

Shit, I guess I’m a few hours too late to place an order for a TE-S?

Just finished installing this into my SF4 TE, works like a champ. [: thanks alot!

If I had just the TE board and a kitty would it function correctly in a custom stick? or would I also need the turbo board to make it work… just curious…

does anyone on here have a te-kitty for sale? I would like to get my hands on one asap. THANKS!

toodles do you know when you will be restocking these on lizardlick? they had an inventory error so they are all out :frowning: they are offering me a ChimpSMD or an MC Cthulhu

Probably. I mean, the turbo panel is just buttons, and a switch that works like 2 more button, the kitty would just never think Turbo is pushed down, and that the stick is always set to DP.

NYGamer,
I just installed the TE kitty in my SE fightstick, did you do anything to make sure the Kitty board isnt jiggling around freely? Theres nothing really support or securing the board right now.

The way the board falls in my stick is a bit of the same. The board is loose, but once the Main Board is screwed in, there is very little to no jiggle. You can always get a tie strap (Small one) and tie the screw post above the kitty to keep it in place if you wanna play it safe.

Massive thanks for creating the TE-kitty Toodles! It was very easy to install (once I got that nasty glue out of the way) and is working perfectly on my Xbox and PS3!

One quick question - when I plugged it into my PC it did not register as TE kitty, so I tried to get the firmware as instructed by the guide but the link isn’t working, does this matter? (I am guessing not because I can make it act as the Xbox controler when plugged into my PC)

Once again thanks so much Toodles!

I believe there are certain button presses while plugging in to go from Kitty to TE mode.

Also, I think a few pages back Toodles mentioned there is only 1 version of the firmware so far.

this is genius, why didnt we think of this earlier. so simple so easy.

Toddles, my friend, you have inspired me again.

time to order and build another stick.

I just installed the TE kitty in to a new round 1 fight stick. It is working great on both ps3 and 360.
However, I noticed after playing on the ps3 for a while that some buttons had the turbo function active. It appears that the turbo lights do not function differently when turbo is active or inactive; like they do when plugged in to the 360 (flashing at different speeds depending on the turbo speed). Did I make a mistake when installing the kitty? or is there another way to tell when turbo is active in ps3 mode?

Toodles needs to get back from vacation out of the country right now, I need me some Kitty TE-S action in my life!
Looking forward to ordering one when they’re available

I believe turbo only works in 360 mode. In PS3 or other mode it only lights up as an effect.

Step 14: Test joystick
[force Xbox 360 mode]
Unplug the joystick, move slider to RS, and plug the stick in with Turbo held down to
force the Xbox360 mode. Go into the Properties page for the joystick, and verify that
movement of the stick shows up properly. This verifies that the large five pin ribbon
connecting the TE Kitty to the original TE board is on correctly.

Just got my TE kitty installed into my TE-S stick (thanks net) and it works great!! The only thing is that my stick now acts like a round 1 stick, meaning when I switch it to the lock function, the start & back button won’t lock. Not a big deal since down the road i will install a RJ-45 to the stick!! Thanks toodles & i hope your having a good time on your vacation!!!

Do you have a specific date on your return I want a TE-S KITTY BAD BAD BAD

I found out in a match that turbo actually DOES work in PS3 mode. I found this out when I was screwing up my wavedashing or Mag fly combos in MvC3; a quick button check and subsequently the training room (with inputs on) confirmed this (jab was on).

I must have turned it on when I was pressing the TURBO button (using it as SELECT, as I don’t have a “Back” button).

Yup. I’ll be back July 5th. You can order any time you like, but it wont be shipped until after then.

Happy to hear it, tell your friends

You could transplant the electronics, sure, and basic functionality would be fine. Youd have to tap Guide for a button of course. However, you wouldn’t be able to force 360 mode without a way to activate Turbo and RS.

TE Kitty is made to go into a TE. You can hack it any way you like, but it’d be a hack and lose some functionality without the turbo LED panel.

Order whenever you like, details in first post, and Ill send it out when I return after July 5th.

Im not sure, like JUST before Evo.

Please be VERY specific about how you’re testing it, and exactly what does or doesn’t show up when you plug it in, including actions of the LEDs when you move the stick.

PC/PS3: LEDs will come on when the matching button is pressed, regardless of whether Turbo is active or not. There is no visible indication on the stick of whether Turbo is active or not.
Xbox360: LEDs will come on when the matching button is pressed, regardless of whether Turbo is active or not. If Turbo is active, they will blink slightly brighter at the turbo rythm

I need a bit more information about how things are setup in your stick; was a TE-S harness set used with the Kitty, or did you hack the ribbons that came with the TE Kitty to get it in?
On a properly installed TE-S stick, using a TE Kitty and the TE-S harness, the lock function will disable Start, Select, Guide, and Turbo, just as it should.

If you press and release the turbo button without any other buttons pressed, you will get your Select/Back without activating any Turbo functions.

These things look epic, I am considering locating a 360 TE PCB just so I can use one of these. I have been hoping for a PS3 version, and I realize doing a PS3 version is rather difficult at the moment, but could you manufacture some form of PCB addon for the TE so that I can get the older console functionality of a Cthulthu as well as Imp support for a 360 padhack that plugs right in? I would rather not use a Cthulthu/IMP padhack setup and lose that nice turbo panel at the top mostly for just xbox support(older console support is an addon, and is not necessary to me). I am not some hardcore tournament player, but a lot of games feel so much better to me on a joystick, and I am sure others would as agree as well.

Another question:
Could I purchase a kitty board and put it in a PS3 TE so I could mount an RJ45 jack and get the legacy console support? I realize I would be missing the 360 support, but I would get the legacy support so I would still get something out of it.

How much would you charge for te-s kitty and assembled (note assembled) fgwidget with all of the solder points (i want LED’s so bad). I know I still have to solder to the led’s it’ll be fun.
