Official 'Kitty' class boards thread

I don’t QUITE understand how does this differ from the MC Cthulhu already in my TE?

It is solderless and barely any wire striping.

And LED cheesiness. Love me some LED cheesiness.

Wait, so can the Kitty be implanted into an SE w/ the same ease as implanting into a TE or nah? Hell, If it means less of a chance of me screwing up the process in Soldering, i’ll take it!

Even if I have to Solder in the RJ-45 Jack, I’ll do this since it combines the Imp and Cthulhu functionality?

Welp, thank G that it’s Thursday. Pay Day, son! I know what I’ll be spending 56+ bucks on!

Later down the line, I’ll add in MC Support through an RJ-45. As long as I can get my Stick to read in my PS3 for some Arcana Action, I’ll be happy as a dog in… well… you know!

You dont have to solder an RJ-45 jack, its already on there.
Electrically, it can work great in an SE stick. THe problem is, I have no idea how it will physically fit in the case.

If the Kitty is near the same size as the MC, then it’s possible. If Bomberman was able to work in a Cthulhu and Imp board into the SE, it should be possible. Just need to spin stuff around if needed.

How Big is the Kitty in comparison anyways?

I am wondering if I could use the kitty te and the ps360+ together in a ps3 te stick? I do not mind having to solder to the boards just want to know if you think it could be made to work? (I bought 2 kitty te’s and only used 1 so far)

Or should I buy the mc chutulu stand alone.

Its a bit larger than the main TE pcb.

No point in using a kitty. Its made for 360 TE’s.

I’ve got to the step that requires setting the stick option to RS and holding down the Guide or Back button to test the original PCB on a PC. When I do this and hold the Guide button it shows up as “G” in the Unspecified section of the Devices panel. When I hold Back it shows up as “Xbox 360 Controller for Windows” and everything works as it should except for the two trigger buttons, RT and LT. They won’t activate when I press them and when I press another button for the first time after opening the test window the “X Rotation” goes full to the left and the “Y Rotation” goes full to the right. The corresponding guide panel LEDs still light up. All buttons work as expected when I test the TE Kitty portion or plug it in when holding nothing. I’ve gone back and made sure all ribbon cables and wires were secured tightly.

Is this a problem and is it fixable?

Alright, That’s good to know. How bout in comparison w/ the MC Cthulhu?

No, and no.

Plugged up the stick, guide LEDs work fine when on the PC.

Plug it into a 360 and I get flashing lights on the stick and nothing on the xbox.

And when you force the 360 mode the slider on RS and the Turbo button held when plugging in?

After viewing the tutorial you have almost convinced me to buy not jut this but a VLX as it seems super easy to do. I have a PS3 and a V3 SA but have been trying to decide what 360 stick to buy and dual mod when the funds come along. I’ve been hesitant to buy a $150 US stick to then be poking around inside it with solder and this seems much easier. My deterrent is simply the price of the VLX as opposed to the VX SA.

I am eagerly awaiting production of a Kitty for the VX SA. Will be keeping an eye on this thread.

Does TE Kitty work on Standard Edition? If not I’m assuming there are differences in the PCB or something. I like the shell more for my hands etc.

Huhuhu. Okay I guess I could see if I can save for a VLX at CEO and live with it

Same blinking lights. Tried it while holding Turbo and then again while holding Back with it set to RS.

I have a vlx kitty installed in each of my sticks, I have been having some problems lately where my xbox keeps registering them as disconnected. I had made a post quite some time back about the same issue but at the time it was fairly infrequent. I accepted that my controllers were simply being detected as idle and being disconnected. I have had a number of matches where the stick disconnects while playing and won’t reactivate unless I plug and unplug it. I’ve checked the wiring and didn’t see anything loose but I’ll tear the thing apart when I have some free time Monday. I’d appreciate any suggestions in the meantime.

And it shows up fine as a Madcatz PCB on PC when those held? Possibly the security chip. Pull out the Kitty, reconnect the USB cable, and see if it’ll work on the 360 then. It should show the same behavior, and prove the problem is separate from the Kitty.
