If there’s a Z1 to remove, remove it.
nvd theres only solder in the holes
Make sure the ‘6’ ribbon is going to the connector on the edge of the board. If it’s on the inside, it could cause problems including the lack of LED.
thanks
Hey Toodles, I was wondering if you know what could be wrong with my stick, I am still having this problem, and I think ive seen a few others with this problem as well. My stick is a Te Round 2 that doesnt need a harness.
Just got my board today, having an issue with flashing the firmware with my desktop Same stick as well.
Edit Tried on my laptop, got the following error:
[10/09/2012 20:25:08] !!! Err: LastError = 2 File: c:\users oodles\documents\picstuff\diolan_bootloader\fw_update\pic_bootloader.cpp, Line: 688
Edit 2 Tried again on my laptop, but on a different USB port. Firmware flashed just fine (no error log). Shows up fine as “Kitty TE Edition” in Game Controllers on my desktop (All buttons working normally), shows up as just “Ki” on my laptop with all buttons working save for button 7 (LT) sticking a bit. Works fine on my Xbox as well, so I imagine it’s just my laptop being wonky.
I am having some trouble with the turbo panel LEDs. I got the lights changed to a different color and for some reason the lower left light (A button) is very dim. I tested different wires and nothing works. The Led is fine as I tested it on my other TE. So I am thinking something went wrong with the TE Kitty.
Most likely cause of nothing appearing when plugged into a PC is one or more USB wires not making good contact in the spring terminals. Check those out, plug it into a PC, and take voltage measurements of the through holes next to the spring terminals.
In 360 mode, when you turn on turbo for that LED’s button, is the LED still dim? It would also be helpful to know if you used that same color LED in a different spot on that stick, what color the LED is, and what the Vf (forward voltage) of that LED is.
Toodles. please help.
Install the plate on my stick kitty MADCATZ TE S.
in XBOX, takes all buttons (eight function buttons), but two (RT and LT), which do not turn the light on the panel board. Just turn on the buttons if you assign turbo.
In PLAYSTATION, those same buttons (RT and LT) do not take me (do not work).
which may be the problem?
PD. I have also installed a plaque remora which runs
additional information, use the cable kit TE S harness
I guess it figures. I spent a week prepping for my TE Kitty purchase, making cables and case accommodations and such, only to have it go out of stock right before my attempt to purchase. Anxiously visiting the glc.com almost daily
Good luck on your move! I’ll do my part to help fund it when parts are available. Hopefully in the near future.
And if we are starting a furnishing fund, I’d chip in to that too.
Is it possible to connect both the Remora and the SparkCE to the VCC on the TE Kitty? Just stick both power wires into the screw/spring terminal on th Kitty? Will this work safely without damaging anything, or is there a better way? Maybe Remora to TE Kitty then SparkCE to Remora VCC?
the faster, less invasive, clean and direct, is taking energy from VCC kitty plate (green connector).
I did so
Thanks Toodles an dvjnoise! Can’t wait to implement these mods!
I couldn’t figure out how to work those spring terminals, so I just soldered the USB cable onto the points on the kitty.
Install went without a hitch and it’s now working great on my PS3 as well.
[S]My friend just installed a Kitty into my Evo fightstick pro. It appears to be working fine, awesome product! My question is I seem to remember the turbo button being permanently lit before the install and now it doesn’t seem to do anything. Now, each of the button LEDs light up when I hit the specific button (which I don’t remember happening before either.) I’m missing the manual for the fightstick, and since I never tried turbo before I’m not certain it’s installed correctly (not certain it’s not either). Just want to make sure there’s nothing amiss. Thanks again! Planning on jamming a remora in there later this year so want to make sure it’s as kosher as fightstick pro can be.[/S]
NM, just read through the kitty install doc and saw how to test. Turbo appears to be working normal. One thing is that the xbox dashboard doesn’t respond to the stick when it’s set to LS. It only works with DP set. Normal?
problem solved, reviewing the forum I found the fault.
guide me for a PDF image (installation TE S models) and in the manual the cable 6 is installed on the outer edge of the plate kitty
toodles response on this forum to a similar case Make sure the ‘6’ ribbon is going to the connector on the edge of the board. If it’s on the inside, it could cause problems including the lack of LED.
If you could wire it correctly, that’s what this would do although it may be better to just use a Cuthulu or some other option. The biggest reason for the Kitty on Xbox is M$’ proprietary chipset which can’t legally be copied without license (OK, and the solderless connection too).
Does anyone know if the ribbon cables are the same?
it only adds ps3 functionality, not xbox. it will not interface with a ps3 correctly and if it did, would not add dual mod functionality.
You’ll have to contact your local modder to add xbox functionality, the usual rate is $80 and includes parts
Hey toodles,
I know this might be a long shot, but is there any way to tell if I fried my TE Kitty without me just dual modding a TE to test? Long story short, I attempted a dual mod a few weeks back and it just didn’t work properly on xbox. There were a few blunders on my part; when wiring the USB wires, I accidentally shifted the wires down by one and so the power line, data lines, and ground were all in the wrong place. After fixing that, I noticed that some of the wires inside the ribbon cables provided with the Kitty were cut from the connectors. So bottom line, I didn’t know how to diagnose the problem, so I just saved the PCB and called it a day.
That said, I was just wondering if you could give me some advice on whether or not I can salvage this Kitty before I invest in another xbox stick. Thanks!
First thing is to see if the Kitty works fine by itself. You use an RJ45->USB cable in the rj45 jack, or cut a USB cable and put the wires into the OUT section of the spring/screw terminals and plug it into a PC. If that comes up properly, you’re doing good and it’d have to be installed in a TE to test the rest.
