The Z1 piece is the pair of zener diodes to try and prevent the trigger problem on first get TE/SE boards, and along with the two resistors I mentioned, are the only changes to the new board that would affect the triggers.

Marcus, Hi I have recently installed a TE Kitty into my V.S. stick. At first I was having issues with the trigger buttons but then followed through with problems other people have posted on here. I did the fix of moving the ribbons to the outer connections on the Kitty board. I am now having an issue of having the stick work on my Xbox 360. It doesn’t recognize the stick at all. I have tried forcing it into xbox mode with no luck, when it is plugged in the buttons on the Turbo panel respond as if it is working normally. However I don’t get any lights for the joystick itself. I have double checked the re-install and re flashed the hardware. Any idea of what can help with this?

Just ordered a Kitty and V.S. harness to install on my V.S. stick! I’m just wondering though, I’ve read the advice in this thread to plug certain ribbon cables on the outside of the board to avoid problems with the triggers. I can’t identify this in the instructions PDF. Are there pictures that explain this more clearly?
But the Kitty mode shows up fine on PC? Most likely cause is a problem connecting the USB wires from the origina TE board to the Kitty.
Reports so far say it works fine. If you run into any problems (some PC USB ports are finicky supplying power) just put the Remora into tournament mode.
Step 9H has you plug the free end of the 6 cable into the Kitty, and says it doesn’t matter which one it goes into. On the picture just to the right of that step, it shows it plugged into the connector on the inside of the board (the two connectors just to the right of the ‘arch’ cut in the board); it should be in the one on the edge of the board.

The Kitty does all of the work for everything BUT Xbox360. For Xbox360, it lets the original TE board do all of the talking. Since Xbox360 doesn’t work, and everything else does, the problem is that the Xbox360 can’t talk, and the most common place for that to happen is with the USB wires connecting the original TE board to the Kitty in the screw/spring terminals.
Kitty doesn’t have code on it for tournament mode, it’s all handled by the slider.
Ok so I gotta attach the USB cable from the Xbox 360 chip to the screw terminal in the kitty. I can do that. Thanks again man.
I got it working now. Thanks so much again. I was dumb and skipped a step. But for my first mod attempt on my own I’m very happy. Overall took about 45 mins. You rock thanks again Marcus
Edit 2: In Kitty mode, LB neither lights up, nor works. In 360 mode, LB works, but does not light up, and the 4th player light on the guide button stays lit.
Edit 3: After about 4 times unplugging and re-plugging the ribbon cable, it started working. Go figure.
Hi. Just received my TE Kitty and hooked everything together just now. Everything ran great until the 360 test mode since the computer couldn’t detect the driver as well that the lights don’t stay on when pressing turbo. Is this a firmware issue that I have to download or do I have to repeat what RynoW?
Disregard. Apparently the controller does work on 360 mode with no issues. Might be a computer problem on my side, but other than that THANKS FOR THIS AWESOME MOD.

Hi toodles received kitty te-s kit, arc eyes and remora today. I have version 1.4 and my RT nor LT are working and the turbo light for A doesnt work but the light for B does. I was gonna remove z1 but wanted to know if the issue existed with my version of the kitty before breaking the resistor.
