Quick question, I don’t believe I saw it pop up but anyone know why the 360 version has the button scheme rearranged when compared to the PS3? By that, I mean that the usual 4 face buttons are not in a square layout whereas the PS3 has it.
Is this because the 360 has more shmups and Hori took that into consideration or is there another reason behind it?
Glad that if I do get this stick, it will be the 360 version(got Mushihimesama Futari Platinum edition on the way as well, it’s too bad that my 360 isn’t an import so I can only play a limited number of shmups).
*I read a patch was released which allowed the V3 SA and VLX to work with PS2 games, but when I popped in SF Anniversary and SF Alpha Anthology nothing happened.
To the PS3 VLX owners: Is there a trick to get it to work with PS2 games? I have the original 60gb PS3 with full BC as well as the latest official firmware.*
Other than that minor issue I’m in love with this stick even though it has a few scratches on the art. It feels incredibly sturdy and looks gorgeous.

I just ordered a Madcatz round 2 TE and was wondering if the button layout is any different from the HRAP VX. I used to have a HRAP ex and loved the button layout. I’ve also played on a Madcatz SE and hated that button layout.
All Madcatz sticks have the same layout =(

HRAP:EX-SE is Astro City layout.
HRAP:V3-SA/VX-SA is Viewlix layout. :shy:

Button lay out is due to Microsoft having a mandated layout out hori had to follow if they wanted it to be an official licensed xbox stick.
Does anyone know if the above picture of the hori joystick is to scale? If it is couldn’t I stretch it to the actual dimensions of the stick to get a template?
Edit: So if all new gen sticks have the same lay out, could I take just the stick and button template from a madcatz stick and then just center it to make a vlx template? I wanna stick top my stick so bad haha
If I remember right the Madcatz sticks are not “exact” vewlix layouts. That being the case the VLX may be different from both the arcade vewlix and Madcatz stick.
I’m considering getting myself a hori premium VLX very soon, how do you guys get this beast through airports? I travel a lot long distances and i’m wondering if this is going to be a major problem for me.
Getting my TE through Charles de Gaulle airport was a major pain in the ass obviously not because of the size of it but having to explain what it is.
It’s like a TE, same problems. Just bigger. And heavier.
Yes i’m worrying about the bigger part, can i get it inside the plane or will i have to send it along with my luggage? I’m not trying to be snarky or anything i’m just wondering.

I think it’d be VERY inconvenient to take onto the plane. It’ll eat a good portion of a suitcase and is too long for most carry on sized stuff.
Did you end up picking one up? Amazon had them on sale for $236 up until the end of Cyber Monday and they’re back up to $300 now. If you travel with one it would probably be best to surround it with clothes and check in the bag. I think it’s too long to carry on.

Anyone have a diagram of the wire colors on these sticks? I want to set this stick to the default layout.
