Official HORI RAP Premium VLX (VEWLIX) - VX (360); V3 (PS3) - Arcade Stick Thread

Maybe you could type up a quick review in this thread when you get yours rtzign? There are quite a few of us interested in this bag. It would be nice just to keep the dust away. It does look high quality and for $52 it should be.

New Hori blog

does anyone know where to get these from in the uk? and is it much different to the ex-se/sa?
edit: found a place thats has the v3-sa  is it worth it?

Where did you get it from? Hori site says not available till December. I don’t see it in Hori shop or Amazon.

Markman alluded to it on his website (sdtekken.com). Basically, people were able to get one if they attended SoCal Regionals.

Long time, first time…

I picked up one of the new Hori VLX carrying bags at the SoCal Regionals, along with a VLX (they had them on sale for $239.99 + 39.99 for the bag). I’m sure rtdzign will do a good review on it, but I’ll throw in some initial thoughts.

The bag is pretty well made, reasonable cushioning on all sides, including the bottom. No shoulder strap, only handles (might get a shoulder strap added on later). There is an internal pocket capable of holding games (2 side by side) and other stuff(sorry for blurry pic).

There are also three smaller pockets on the outside. There is velcro under the mesh area, so maybe good for gum, cables, keys, match money, etc…

Inside, there are 3 sets of straps that serve to secure the stick in place inside…

The 2 vertical straps are adjustable and secure it pretty well. The long horizontal strap barely makes its connection with velcro, would be more secure if it was 2-4 inches longer. The straps may be for the smaller RAP VX-SA, as they were advertising the bag to fit that stick as well. The stick doesn’t shift left to right as it is a rather snug fit for the VLX, so the straps probably won’t be needed (I might remove them, dunno).

There is a little room inside to spare (I was able to fit a Rock Band 3 wireless keyboard in there without issues or forcing the zipper, to give you an idea of the amount of space in there), so using the straps to tighten things up should prevent shifting. Worthwhile if you plan to take your stick around to show off to friends or to tournaments.

Any modders in SoCal area that can handle an MC Cthulhu install along with an RJ-45 jack in this stick? I saw the pin-outs earlier in this thread, but I am by no means savvy with a soldering iron. Ordering some buttons to swap out those nasty XBox colors as well.

Look back to post #779

Poserdude

just skimmed this entire thread and didn’t see jack about the VX-SA and V3-SA. am i just blind?

anyone have any thoughts on the smaller sticks? I have no interet in the VLX but need a couple nice 360 sticks, and i love stark clean designs out-of-the-box. really don’t like custom jobs and whatnot.

hows the quality, weight, ease of opening and button swapping? there are decent prices out there but i just haven’t seen a lot of talk as the VLX has completely overshadowed the smaller guys it seems.

thats because your reading the wrong thread

BUT THE TITLE SAYS…

haha, thanks for the redirect.

I just changed the stock cable storage compartment with a magnetic system. It is very cool.

Amazon.com: Real Arcade Pro: 3 Premium VLX: Video Games

Seems as if the VLX is on sale for $235.99 on Amazon! (360 & PS3 versions apply)

Any one know box weight and sizes LxWxD for the VLX (for shipping quotes)

The information is somewhere in this thread, but I do remember the box weight being 20 pounds.

damn too bad amazon doesnt ship out of U.S or i would love to buy one for that price…

Is there a template for this stick? I really want to put some custom art on this bad boy.

just about to ask that, also is anybody making a custom plexiglass for this?

I couldn’t resist temptation and ended up ordering the VLX. $176 after applying $60 Amazon credit. Time to join the club!
