Nice.
I have mine and itâs absolutely fine. No flaws noticed yet. And I didnât pay $400.
It doesnât look like the top panel is flexing to me. Itâs what jdm714 said. The entire stick enclosure is moving (not flexing) slightly.
Watch the left corner of the stick on the player-facing side. The stick is sitting on top of the wooden base it comes with, and it is dipping slightly down in front when the player presses down onto the top with his hands. This is probably more related to how the case is sitting on top of the optional base than anything to do with the thing itself bending or flexing.
I was sitting am my table with the stick looking at the reflection and the case. I proceeded to firmly move the stick around in a forceful but not abusive manner and my conclusion is that my coffee table moved more than the stick panel.
Now that I am thinking about it, my guess is that the guy in the video did not bolt down the rear thumbs screws holding the panel down, that would explain the panel movement.
alright wow, okay, not $400. $300, and in some instances, $350.
My point remains. $50-$100 isnât going to change my mind on quality performance or durability. Youâre buying a controller that rivals the price of the console your going to be playing it on.
Obviously there is some aesthetic do-want involved, otherwise you would just buy an SE, mod it with parts, and stick a bunch of quarters in it so itâs heavied down. Scratches/misalignment is still unacceptable.
Donât get me wrong, if I had the extra money, despite having x2 R2 TEâs and x1 TE-S, I would lay it down for this stick. I would pray that it came with no defects, but that wouldnât change my mind in the purchase.
I think itâs an investment too. I think some people either canât afford or justify spending money on what is one of the best sticks out there. Yeah it does cost a lot more than a console but Iâm guessing youâll be able to keeping using it well into the next generation too. Not to mention the resale value of such a stick.
People who worry about defects should not be concerning themselves so much, since itâs only a few cases of some minor issues. As well as the fact that if youâre not satisfied with something, under consumer rights you are perfectly within your rights to have it exchanged or refunded. So, not such a big deal is it.
My stick finally came through this evening!
No matter what anyone says, itâs a stunning piece of kit to own

That was quick.
Laugh.
Why does everyone who DOESNT own this stick constantly complain about it? ive been carrying this stick to tourneys and people keep talking maaad shit (hori viewlix stick sucks, whyd you buy it, doesnt work right, you just wasted money on a paperweight, bla bla bla.) pretty annoying. what is it about this stick that makes people proactively talk negatively about it? i mean of course it could be better. i really hate the cord carrying case compared to the te. its a piece of shit, and breaks off too easily (tho bigger than the TE). also the start button is likeâŚin the worst possible place. also wish the inside didnt feel hollow. aside from that its a great stick. nothing to complain abotu in terms of functionality.
I have 6 of these.
I like em.
Build a tower! I posted a bunch of new pics on my FacebookâŚ
Did you get 5 for free?
I honestly donât see whatâs wrong with the placement of the start button unless you start majorly spazzing during a match. Itâs plenty far away enough to not be pressed accidentally.
Also, I have no idea wtf the people youâve run into are talking about. I was at Evo, and nearly everyone who tried the Hori sticks and got to check them out loved them, the only thing that kept them from buying it was the price. SoâŚjealousy, maybe? lol
No. I got 1 for free.
I can pay for my own shrimp. Thank you very much.
Haha yeah⌠I cracked to the pressure and couldnât wait. Plus they delivered it within one day of ordering.
I donât understand either. Itâs an awesome stick. If people had the money then I guess theyâd want one as well.
ic, nice collection then. Will you use all of them for meetings? It was a serious question. A brother-in-law of a friend of mine works in the gaming business and gets stuff like this for free, so I was just wondering. No offense intended.
I just got a VLX myself this morning, played about 2 hours with it so far and I notice something weird.
Sometimes when I move, I hear some âcrunchingâ noises? Is this normal? Like, is there a breaking in process type of thing with the VLX?
Can you be more specific? Where does it make the noise? And from what action of using the stick, e.g. the lever, the buttonsâŚ
The JLF, doesnât really matter which direction I move. Itâll make some sort of crunching noise some times.
Iâve opened it up to check if thereâs anything in between the inside, but everything looks pretty clean in the JLF.
I might just get an exchange and see if my next one will be better.
Mine is completely fine. No crunching noises. Thatâs really odd.
