It seems sort of crazy to drop $515 on a stick that in all likeliehood be $200 less in two weeks. But I guess if someone really needs it, it is about the going rate for one.
Fully loaded with Flash1/ Red heavy duties Sanwa-RPG buttons and red mesh-ball. Later on this baby will have dual modded pcbs. Will use this for all my console. Other 3 vlx for my collection minus my ps3 vlx beat up one that i got pissed and destruct it.
Thanks NewGen. OK let me put this simple. My Xbox 360 VLX has Sanwa Flash1 for joystick. I swap out the color Sanwa buttons OBSF-30 to heavy duty red sanwa OBSF-30RG. Added Red meshball and will MC toddles board for dual mod to work all the consoles i have at home.
Next i have 3 more VLX 2 360 and 2 PS3. One of the VLX PS3 one i ogt mad and destruct the top panel.
Just got RGs two (for my HRAP3), those feel really good, better than regular OBSF/N imho, too bad they don’t existe in white or dark hai (or all regular obsf for that matter… if sanwa were to produce clear RGs, they’d prolly sell like hot cakes)
Thanks for mentioning this webshop. I ordered one yesterday. The price was indeed ?358,91. The shipping is ?85,45, making a total of ?444,36 ($542.74). I know it’s very expensive compared to HORI Store’s price of ¥30.000 and Akihabara’s price of ¥36.995 incl. shipping but oh well. The stock is constantly running out so I’m glad that I can get one at least.
They don’t have stock in France. The website is in France, but apparently, they ship everything from Japan. Yesterday, they sent me a confirmation mail. Today, they sent me a tracking number for the Japanese shipping service. The XBOX 360 version is indeed out of stock now (I was lucky to get one of the last) but they do have the PS3-version which is on low-stock:
so you was who got the last one… hehe. one question, if its shipped from japan, you take the risk of additional customs taxes/duties, arent u? I thought on this shop bc hoping that at least, in case it was dispatched from EU, I would save custom fee, but from japan I dont think so, and its isnt a small size/weight parcel at all
Thats marketing. They’re produce a very limited stocks each time, and people go crazy about it, willing to pay such high amount of juice. Very well done marketing, we’re a kind of Homer Simpson haha
No matter quality or brand enough, over $500, even 400, for this piece its definitely outrageous. The key is the “limited” label on it, to justifie those prices… money is limited too
I thought they had it in stock in France, which would be great for me. It’s sent from Japan though, so I indeed risk customs tax. It’s 7 kg (with some packaging even 8 or 9 kg).
Yup, but that applies to all new gaming electronics that are in high demand. When the PSX was released, it cost $800 to get it through grey import.
Anyways, indeed…$542 for a joystick is ridiculous, because it’s not an advanced piece of equipment such as a next-gen console. It’s “only a stick”…but I’m desperate lol
Is it possible to easy mod the VLX to make it compatible with both X360 and PS3? through an adapter or something? It would be a totally mess putting over $400 on a stick to be that restricted, when do it both interfaces compatible is so simple to implement.
I have a “Controller Converter Pro”, but it only works with a Dual Shock 3 and PS2-controllers/sticks, not with the TE. I think it won’t work with the VLX either. It might be too risky to dual-mod it and I’m not handy with electronics so I’ll wait 'til there’s a person who has experience with dual-modding an XBOX 360 HORI VLX.
In the “Check out my new arcade stick!” Thread - Part Deux I see photos of your VLX with custom art at which you mention it’s dual-modded but where’s the info on how to do it? Thanks.
I sold my PS2/PS3 to XBOX 360 Controller Converter Pro. It doesn’t work with PS3 FightSticks. As the packaging states (and I tested/verified it) it ONLY works with a PS2 dance mat, PS2 joystick, PS2 pad, PS2 guitar and PS3 Dual Shock 3 pad. It doesn’t work wirelessly, only wired. The TE stick doesn’t work in any way with this converter, no matter what you’ll try. I bought an XCM Cross Battle Adapter Plus which works perfectly with the XBOX 360 TE stick on a PS3 console.
My HORI Premium VLX stick has been at the customs “service” since Tuesday. The EMS-status is “Awaiting presentation to customs commissioner”. I’ll end up paying about $680 for this stick.
