Official HORI RAP Premium VLX (VEWLIX) - VX (360); V3 (PS3) - Arcade Stick Thread

Prior to getting a V3-SA a few weeks ago, I couldn’t decide which of the TE’s (MvC2 & TE “S”) would be my main stick since I like both of them equally (love the metallic artwork of the MvC2 yet I prefer the overall design of the TE “S”). However, once I got a V3-SA & played w/it there were no questions as to which would be my main stick. The angled wrist area feels that good! Not saying the TE’s are uncomfy, just that the V3-SA is more comfy. Also, replacing artwork is much easier on the TE’s (if you’re into that). I like the V3-SA so much, I’m now selling both TE’s in the trading outlet forum since the VLX is officially arriving on U.S. shores.

So I wonder how this is going to work out, like are they going to sell these special order only or could you get them through pre order at gamestop like the first run TE’s?

Hori online store only. Check SDTEKKEN regularly.

Your fiendish plan has succeed, Mr. Markman. I am going to check SDTEKKEN every freakin’ day. Can we expect the pricing to be in line with the Japanese release, or might the US get a break on this one?

I read that and came here to post the same thing. I like how he says at the end that you can do the same thing in the V3-SA in about 20 minutes–so it’s a tie–when he obviously didn’t try it. There’s also no QD terminal strip in the V3-SA.

Can anyone confirm if the 360 vlx is common ground? The guts pic masturfader posted is the PS3 version, but for cthulu purposes I’ll need the 360 one.

Sorry if this was covered previously in the thread, I’ve been looking for it but didn’t see it.

Edit: Just watched the youtube unboxing video, he bought a 360, looks to be common ground, but again, a 100% confirmation would probably seal my deal on this badboy.

the one thing that surprised me is the size of the TE “S”, this gave me a better perspective. and makes me want to see a comparison with a TE “S” and a SE. I thought the TE “S” was about the same size of an hrap, the regular TE, but this just gave me more perspective. I like the pic comparison, i thought it was kinda neat.

Sorry. I had already closed my stick up when I thought if taking a pic if the PCB. It is indeed common ground. I was thinking of having gummowned dual mod
my stick, but I want to keep the insides
as prestine as possible.

I know what QD’s are…but what does the QD terminal strip do in terms of being so important compared to not having a QD version of it?..Being able to replace the PCB easier? My bad, it’s been a long day & about to finally sleep now, LOL!

It means that the wires that attach to the buttons are not permanently wired to the PCB. You can open up the case and replace wires, remap your button layout, disable buttons, et al, without needing special tools like a soldering iron. It also provides a convenient point to tap the signal of any of the buttons.

Replacing VLX sticker with official Vewlix sticker?

Hey everyone,

I’m in love with this stick! As soon as it is made available here in the U.S. I will buy 2 for PS3. The only thing that bothers me is the art is not 100% accurate. I have contacted Per from akihabara shops and he sells the 1p VEWLIX “F” (red) stickers for about $50 each. I was thinking I could take the stock HORI sticker off and replace it with an official VEWLIX sticker. Per said he thinks the mod will work. However, my main concern is that the VEWLIX logo and the TAITO logo would have to be cut off at both ends in order for the sticker to fit the smaller HORI panel. Then their is the issue of having a 7 button sticker on an 8 button panel. That is an easy fix for me because I have already modded my TE’s by filling in the 8th hole with metal filler. I then sanded it flush and then applied adhesive repro artwork from mamemarquees. (I can’t stand plexi!) That’s how I was able to get a 7 button panel. The VEWLIX black and silver 1p sticker could be another option as well but again the logos would probably get cut off. What do you guys think? Should I attempt this mod?

If i was u no, I try to replace my PS3 vlx with custom art of hitman and didnt work very evry in the end i got fcked art panel w/o artwork.

But that’s me u can try if u would like.

Hey Meus,

What exactly was the issue? Is the stock HORI sticker too much of a pain to take off? Could you possibly post pics so I can see how your panel looks without the sticker on it? Your probably the first person in the world to try an art mod with the VLX and maybe the community here at SRK can learn something. Don’t feel bad. I have a VSHG that has some cosmetic damage on the panel that is covered by a sticker. I still love it though.

^^ Important thread/poll for those of you interested in getting a VLX in North America. <3

just took it!

Done!..Do you know if the Hori store will charge you right when you place a pre-order or is it like Amazon where they don’t charge your credit card until the item physically ships? I’m not too comfy having a retailer charge me yet the item hasn’t shipped yet.

Mine arrived two weeks ago and still I’m in love. Great stick ever!!
