I know eddie and ben bring their own consoles for their own games, but you have to rent out a(smaller) TV.
Also since there’s no BnB tonight, I’m hosting an online PSN tourney.

Also if anyone coming could provide at setup such as a monitor and console it’d be greatly appreciated.
Any MK9 tournament around the corner for the Atl area???
Just re-watched the live action Street Fighter movie again since I last saw it at the theatre and all I can say is, “What a classic.”
Yea I don’t remember when a thread lasted this long on Srk.
Wait…
So this is the Ga Thread everyone was talking about…
Ohhhhhhh
SO Im in Savannah…anybody here that plays anything other than MVC3 and SSFIVAE?
Ringgold/Fort Oglethorpe GA resident here. (Closer to Chattanooga TN than Atlanta or other major cities). I play MVC3 (which I actually don’t own anymore, but am looking to repurchase very soon) and MK. If you ever want to play, hit me up, I’ll let you know my xbox live GT.

Well, specifically this thread. If you guys want to get into our Facebook group for the Ga community so that way you can find out about upcoming tournament and sessions easier, search Facebook for “Georgia - Fighting Game Community”
Just ask to be added to the group.

The only problem I see with that group is that it’s a closed group meaning you have to request to join and be invited. Meaning, gatherings, events, etc. only people who are in the group can join in on. Where as when it is posted here anyone with an account and without an account can read it. Many new people who do not know the group exists (I mean I understand it’s probably stated several times but people can overlook it) may not know it exists and overlook it. And there are some people who just don’t have facebook at all. All I am just hoping is that by going to that facebook group as our primary communication we’re not limiting who all we can reach out to. Many people have even discovered the GA scene by pulling up our threads on google searches and finding out about our scene. I’ve had many people tell me that that I’ve met at my tournament. But I am sure not as many people pull up the facebook group and even if they did its a closed group.I just got out of BMT and up until about two weeks ago I thought the GA thread was dead when I pulled it up and no one was posting. I just recently found out you all had facebook group. And the thing is when you pull it up you can’t see any posts what so ever until you’re added. Just imagine newbies who get on here and don’t know. Just my .02.
Hi, I’m in Statesboro. I haven’t played a game of Tekken 6 with a person since I left ATL a YEAR ago. Does anyone play anything besides Capcom games in this fuckin’ backwater shit hole? lol There’s nothing but Marvel and AE players here, and I’ve got the Tekken itch.
Shoryuken.com is suppose to be the gateway to the community that the newcomers are searching for, we have no legit obligation to SRK, our only obligation is to ourselves and what we want to do or not do in regards to our area’s community growth.
The Facebook group for me is a get away spot, A place I can vent about things going on here on this site, at tournaments, gatherings etc and we all hash out the disagreement and rectify the situation.
On SRK it doesn’t happen like that, an issue gets brought up, drama comes and it gets blowed out of context.
In the Facebook community we have our own mods, mods who pay attention to whats going on and are hands on so they know how far to let things go and when to nip it in the bud.
I really don’t like SRK anymore, I don’t like how it looks, I don’t like the front page chock filled with bull shit Keits and others are late posting anyways, I hate the dick sucking of the top players, the lack of respect for our division so forth and so on.
On the Facebook Group I can speak about these things freely!!!
Now in regards to community information, gatherings, tournaments, training…
that can all still be done here in the SRK Ga Thread and on this website in general as well as in the Facebook Group.
The newcomers can feed off of each other, the old school/original Community members still come here and read the thread…
we just don’t have much reason to post, nothing much really to say.
Facebook shouldn’t be considered “Primary Source” just because we post there, it’s just the majority because we feel more at home there,I stated this in the Facebook group, my distaste for lurkers is the fact that if you do not make your presence known, why should you be handed anything, assistance of any kind etc.
Why are we changing what we want to do in our community for people who don’t exist or for people who aren’t doing enough to exist??
The Ga Thread is dead but in all honesty it’s totally not because of us, we didn’t stop people from coming in here and asking about tournaments, gatherings, locations, games in or on the scene etc.
Community reps like Ky,Dogy,Funky P,Wizzle still acknowledge people when they post in here and have directed them to the Facebook group or just responded to there posts in general.
Those people quickly fade into non-existence once we either don’t suck up to them, respond as fast as they like, play the games they like, beat them badly at gatherings or cause we don’t play online only and we want to meet face to face to square off and a host of other reasons.
There are things in the Facebook Group we just can’t talk about here, things new schoolers wouldn’t understand.
No more Ga Thread being the laughing stock of SRK and the Atlantic South Division, the only threads found on Google were the threads filled with drama (I know because I was at the helm of 75% of them)
That’s a black eye, Wizzle,Nighty/CyberAkuma/IggyWhite/Shinkuur/Raekwon187 & Lordiceman are trying to move on from and heal!!
If you can make the drive, we are always interested in fueling new/old tekken comp.
East point Ga is the location we host our tekken gatherings 30344 is the zipcode
And for anyone else interested in tekken, post up so we can setup a gathering this week!!
I wish I had hit ya’ll up when I was living on north side. I’m sure I’d have been bodied a lot, but I’ve always wanted more high-level comp.
The next time I’m on that side of the world (which should be soon), you will hear from me without a doubt.
