God forbid people actually came up with creative and useful builds. NERF THEM TO THE GROUND!
Seriously, Blizzard needs to stop all the fucking kneejerk ninja nerfs. Is there a paranoid schizophrenic in charge of their patch/QA team there? Let the game breathe a little for fucks sake. At this point I don’t eve want to touch HC on hell. Tomorrow everyone can have their escape mechanisms nerfed to shit without us knowing.
My group build has me running 5872 armor (66.19% damage reduction), resists ranging from 391 to 499 (56.58% to 62.45%), 40.4% dodge with Evasion Mantra, Blinding Flash, Serenity, and Breath of Heaven and I’m still having to play careful in Act 2 Inferno. You’d certainly be a glass cannon.
Man, I have to give up so much shit just to get those defenses. If I use force armor with the prismatic rune and equip a shield I can get resistance to 400 and armor in the 5k range but I’m still so squishy and it makes my dps so ass. I can get my hp to around 28k too and it still feels like it’s not worth it. The 20% innate damage reduction makes such a huge difference in taking hits.
I just decided to run a full kite build using slowtime, illusions, and frost nova as defense. Seeker mm, arcane orb with tap, and venom hydra as my offense. Been working so far, and if I get vortexed, I was screwed anyways.
try this build with wizard in act 2 inferno. got to quest 7 with a DH friend, then the zoltun kulle collect his blood dungeons got annoying and repair bills got high so we stopped.
Left click, Frost Hydra
Right click, blizzard - snowbound
1- Teleport, calamity (force wave attached to the exit point)
2 - Slow time - perpetuity (16 sec cd, 14 with evocation)
3 - energy armor prismatic
4 - illusions duplicates, or frost nova cold snap
if using frost nova use blur, evocation, galvanizing
if using illusions, switch blur for illusionist.
You run at 80 arcane power, but blizzard only costs 20, hydra costs 15, teleport costs 15 and illusions, frost nova and slow time cost nothing.
I use spacebar as a stand ground modify so my left click casts frost hydra, which you keep recasting to place in the best possible location as the hydra only really hits a mob for 1-2 seconds.
You can kite 20 act 2 regular mobs without fear of dying. you do very marginal dps, but you can crowd control like a boss for your friends.
Odin, you get to Inferno yet? Cuz that build will die horribly
My inferno monk build
Left Click - Deadly Reach with Keen Senses rune (essential for Inferno)
Right Click - Spin Kick with Vulture Claw Kick rune (for getting mobs the fuck off, or healing)
1 - Breath of Heaven with Penitent Rune (heals you, and scares mobs)
2 - Serenity with healing rune
3 - Blinding Flash with rune to effect elites
4 - Mantra of Healing with Time of Need rune
Passive Skills - Transcendence, One With Everything, Seize the Initiative
also, I got rid of my weapons (dual fist weapons) , and replaced them with a 700 damage club and a shield.
This is now working WONDERS for me, although its a little slow and tedious, unique battles are actually a hell of a lot of fun.
so my newest tactic is to set quest to siegebreaker (2nd entry) walk the 10 seconds to the boss door (to get check point) and then go into the “underburg” which has a 50% spawn rate and always contains a rich chest or treasure goblin. there is also always a yellow mob + adds in there and before the entrance can spawn a blue group. now, the special thing is that Tyrael follows you and he hits like a truck (45k) and is immortal and is not affected by anything, but can be attacked.
so I try a group, usually die sooner or later (mf gear on) and let tyrael finish em. sometimes I rezz and help him finishing the last one. this yields 1-2 neph buffs + mf gear + rich chest + loot from 1-2 champ groups + no effort (watching films in the meanwhile or switch tab to browse).
if I get 2 buffs i usually also go to the siege boss and solo him for moar loot.
I tried a build like that. I’m also on zolton kulle’s blood quest. The cave of the betrayer is definitely really hard since unique spiders and small mobs are some of the hardest with their already high base move and attack speed.
If you use a cold snare and a arcane snare (such as temporal flux) they both stack and makes them really slow. I like that better than have double cold snares because that just means that there is a 30% speed reduction. Slow time also stacks the slow debuff if combined with other types of snares.
If you want to not get one-shot in Inferno you basically have to completely abandon doing damage. Kripp can solo Diablo but his DPS barely breaks five digits (so it took him over half an hour to do it).
