Check your friendslist, see if there are any suspicious names under recently played but you know you haven’t played with. Also check profiles, if there’s a level 1 character but it has like 5 hours played on it then that’s most likely where the hacker dumped all your, and every other hacked account’s gold onto.
I have authenticator to ask for code every time I login. Best way to safeguard account imo. Unless your PC’s caught in a man in the middle attack in which case you’ve got other things to worry about outside of your bnet account (identity theft and CC info).
sent in my customer support ticket an hour ago…I’m sure it’s going to be a while before anything comes from it. They’re saying they’re doing rollbacks, but it sucks knowing all of my shit got stolen in my Stash and Gear.
I started wondering when I logged on today to see my WD buck-ass nekkid.
Actually, Blizzard had said there hasn’t been any reports of anybody being hacked who actually had an authenticator, even though everyone claims to have one, so take that for what you will. (I have one because somebody reactivated an old wow account and locked me out of it with an authenticator, so I added my own to counter it)
Blizzard also said that no one had gotten hacked through non-traditional means. Meaning that 100% of the time the hacker has had the player’s account name and password. I’m starting to think that some D3 fan-site must have a keylogger on it. That would be an easy explanation as to why there are a large volume of hackings.
People could also have had their accounts compromised before D3’s launch and hackers were just waiting until they had leveled their characters to 60 before stealing their items.
Also make sure you don’t do stupid shit like downloading and running programs called d3maphack.exe or whatever. And always go to battle.net and login manually, never click through URLs in emails.
With the way authenticators work, it shouldn’t really be possible to hack your account if you have one, especially if you have it ask for an authentication code every log in.
I agree Shielding is pretty lame (I’d add Waller to that list), but I don’t know how you could really fix Invulnerable Minions short of reducing the minion count or getting rid of it entirely.
I just think some people are bad with their passwords or PC habits, and where they go on the interweb. Hell, its not hard to consider maybe their forums getting hacked or something simple like that. This is why you always change your passwords routinely, and for each site you go to.
i won’t lie, there are some fights where I just wanna snap my keyboard over my knee. But sometimes, when I get my cooldown timing perfect, and I’m dodging spinning arcane lasers of dooooooom, and its not too laggy, and I am just whittling away at a pack of uniques, it’s a good feeling.
Been doing Butcher runs in Inferno. Shocked I haven’t seen another legendary, even a shitty one, drop in awhile. LOL @ all those rings when I enter the auction house, going for millions or even billions. LOLOL
Yeah I am up in the air on this. Sometimes, it’s just plain retarded. I have an inherent problem with 100% invincible monsters. And shielding goes up too often. You basically get a 1/8th of a second window to whack a monster a few times. Add extra health on a fucker like this, and it’s GGPO
Well, it finally happened. My hardcore lvl 56 wizard is no more. Hell mode act 2 sewers, jump down and run ahead and see a group of champion stinging swarms with vampiric + fire chains + frozen, a few chain freezes while getting laser beamed to death as they fly around me and it was all over. Wasn’t even angry when it happened, I felt like it was inevitable, I had had so many close calls since starting act 2 and even with 42k hp death’s door was creaking open slowly but surely.
