Thanks, I found out the hard way, just got my staff and found out about the money needed for upgrading, not sure if I want to commit to it given that I only have around 400k atm.
So here’s the build I’m currently running http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#WRgXYh!XVU!YYabYa, so far this has been the most effective build for me in hell and inferno, some people opt to use seven sided strike for the extra invincibility time or sweeping wind for damage while tanking, but with so much spirit cost for those 2 skills I just don’t see it happening. Open to debate and criticism on this.
Also, what kind of gears would you guys recommend for me to work on? I’m currently at 35k hp, 7.5k damage, and 49% all elemental resistance (one with nature) and 60% melee reduction using seize the initiative. At this point I feel that damage and vitality are secondary to resistance, as from what I hear act 3 will hit you 60k+. Even with high resistance, I’m guessing people will still get 1 or 2 shotted.
Blizzard needs to do something to ease up the difficulty on inferno, too much kiting.
Yo does anyone have an SoJ yet? u gots soj? wug?
I’m not joking. That ring is actually in the game for those of you that didn’t know.
Illusions have low health. Just spinng flame kick when he spawns illusions and they usually all die… Also, once you attack a mob, just hold down the click button, and u will keep attacking him regardless of where he moves, or what he spawns.
UnoKen, I have the nightmare staff, if u wanna do nightmare pony runs. I did one last night, with 5 stacks of Nephalim buff, and found sweet fuck all
Gained 13 levels yesterday and today, should have went to bed 2 hours ago. Got in with a group of Japanese and we raped face Act II on Nightmare for the most part. I had my Wizard then we had a DH, WD and Monk. We had alittle trouble with Belil second form, I basically saved my Diamond Skin for when he just randomly threw poison on the floor. Diamon Skin will absorb a hit of that if you click wrong.
yo, where do I find crafting recipes, for the jeweler or armor guy? Do I have to max them out first or something? Inferno only? Do I have to have 5 stacks of neph buff before I do anything?
WHAAAAAAA?
edit: that fat guy who died playing D3 was only 32…he would have only dropped low level blues and whites anyways
lol the new proc rate on Critical Mass makes it nearly worthless. Ok well not worthless, but now it’s going to make sure you only shave like 2-3 seconds off a cooldown. Ah well I need to get to 60 so I can play with these fun builds before they’re nerfed
Wtf they nerfed Critical Mass, too? Goddammit.
Azmodan experience was hotfixed. I hear that it only gives about 1/2 as much exp for beating him, and you get 0 exp for turning the quest in to Leah. You used to get almost 100k exp for finishing up Azmodan and Act III (in Hell). Now, you get around 25k exp? Can someone C/D the correct number?
They are random drops. You don’t have to do anything specific to get them.
It was actually a bugfix and not really a nerf. It only affected the proc rate on certain attacks that made it proc way more often than it was supposed to. So, for some people there will be no difference.
Damn what the fuck Inferno. I have two setups, one for going through levels and another for boss fights. Wish there was an easy way or a shortcut to swap between the two. Or three with my nuke setup. But playing this WD I have to quit running in so much.
And in the end it’s all about gear gear gear. Resist all > Vit.
Get to Inferno, think you’re ready, get one shot, realize I shouldn’t have said anything before getting to this point, adjust accordingly.
Bugfix, nerf, what’s the difference. I believe the new change is each cast can only do one crit proc, so your Lightning dude charging, if it crits 10 times, only counts for 1 crit. That’s not a bugfix, that’s a change in the core functionality. Sure it may be justified, since being able to solo kill diablo with no risk is silly, but perhaps they need to make the bosses (especially Diablo for fucks sake) more frost resistant and less adjusting cool high end gear tricks that really do make you feel powerful
People are just doing the powerlevel glitch with Zoltun Kulle instead of Azmodan now, lol.
Dunno what the number is now, but my guess is that this is just a band aid fix. I’m guessing that once they fix the bug in the patch, it will return to normal XP values since you actually have to kill Azmodan for all that XP.
Man, I’m having tons of fun leveling up a Barb. I’m sure it won’t be as much fun once I get to Hell/Inferno, but right now it’s a blast. Tons of mobility and survivability.
ftfy
Blizzard collecting more data on their servers than the computers at the LHC. I’d be interested to see them release some census numbers like class usage, level distribution and how many players play solo, friends only or pubs.
I agree, critical mass is not fun to play with anymore and it really does feel like it doesn’t proc significantly enough to matter with something like magic missile. Unique mobs still could have eaten the build alive and you had to be on a roll and get a good start to use it in normal situations. Mobs still send out arcane sentries and frost orbs and you still had to move then go back in to get it going again. It definitely was high risk and fun. Explosive blast probably would never be fun again.
Diablo definitely needs to be more cc resistant. It’s actually blizzard’s fault he’s a wuss, instead of the heroes being op. The cc problem isn’t just apparent on a wizard also something like a dh could stun him and interrupt him when they see his startup animations. Playing my brother’s dh, every time I saw him start up the fire hose, I just stunned him, then he attempts it 1-2 more times and gets stunned each time, before going back to his regular pattern.
man…resist all is so godlike. i can actually run through act1 inferno now without dieing. just wreck everything with my demon hunter getting 190k impale crits lol. got about 300 to all resists. it takes a good 3-4 hits to kill me in act 1 now instead of 1…lol.
Given my lack of free time has me still sitting on Normal, I’m happy that when I finally reach Inferno it will be easier than what I’m hearing. LOOT!
I’m so sick and tired of these super high DPS machines killing things.
AHHHH
I’m want to make some sort of super DPS monk build. Glass cannon with some dodging potential.
I don’t think it’s possible for Monks to go a pure DPS build as melee in Inferno. At least not right now.
