Official Diablo 4 Thread : Hype train departing

Damn dude, what the fuck is that? Yeah that doesn’t look grim or dark at all…plus there are ponys+rainbow assist? Jesus fucking christ. Makes me want to stab PozerWolf’s AV.

I told you guys the majority of the game is set in stone and the map/enemies(?) don’t get randomized. Even Diablo 1 had fucking random maps from what I remember. DIABLO 1.

I’ve been to strange-ass countries and bought these 1$ games. 99% chance that Diablo “V” is actually Diablo II with some random-ass mod installed over it. The box art and 1$ price will get you fucking hype, though.

so whats the deal with the socketer or enchanter? Will they still get released?

From what I recall, the gem guy was supposed to be able to add a socket to a weapon (so you could put gems in there), and there was an enchanter who would let you reroll key stats on an item (ring with +100 STR and +100 INT, you could reroll either the STR or INT stats for a price).

Still hoping that runes get added in…

oh, and for those of you who haven’t found out how to get to Whimsyshire:

Spoiler

So how do you travel to this magical land of Whimsyshire? You’ll need to first acquire all of the following items:
[]Black Mushroom which spawns in cathedral level 1 from Act 1
[
]Leoric’s Shinbone which is located randomly in the fireplace in Leoric’s Manor Act 1.
[]Liquid Rainbow is found by traveling to Oasis, head SW until you find a small path leading to a watery clearing, save the rare spawn Zaven The Alchemist from the vultures, explore the mysterious cave he provides access to, and locate the rare spawn Mysterious Chest. If either the Mysterious Chest or Zaven don’t spawn, then the game will need to be remade.
[
]Wirt’s Bell is sold from Squirt the Peddler in Caldeum Bazaar in Act 2 for 100k gold.
[]Gibbering Gemstone drops from Chiltara a random mob in the Caverns of Frost Act 3.
[
]Plans: Staff of Herding drops randomly from Izual on Act 4.
After acquiring all of the necessary items you can build the Staff of Herding at the Blacksmith. Next locate the Ghost of the Cow King (a reference to Diablo 2’s secret Cow Level) and he will open up the gate to a “level of sparkling happiness and rainbows”.
According to the **Diablo **wiki, the secret level mobs are balanced to be equivalent to late Act Four meaning low level characters, even on normal difficulty, will likely be slaughtered upon entering. In addition to the items you will find there, you will also receive a feat of strength, a banner, and a sigil.

edit: So I got to Hell difficulty. GOT DAMN. Picked up TWO rare weapons for my monk. Been using level 35’s up until I got to 50. My DPS went up from 1000 to 3000

:o

Woot! time to farm!

Back to the rune topic. After playing the changed Skill System for a few days, it has re-affirmed what I believed to be a potential problem. It allows folks to determine the best runes quickly as opposed to months of gameplay, trial and error. All runes are not created equally, and the garbage ones don’t get touched. The D3 system highly motivates exploration of runes and skills, but the community is setting the standard as to what Skill/Rune combination is the best.

I do agree, it is extremely convenient to change skills on the fly. But at the end of the day, it isn’t fun… AND i’m still going to the forums to see what the best skills are, something the D3 developers wanted to be irrelevant.

There is always going to be something considered “best.” No way getting around that one.

yeah, but when you’re already limited on abilities, it’s kinda sucky to know 10-15% of a characters skillset is useless. I’m sorry, but there is only like 2 Mantra’s worth using as a monk, and a lot of the other abilities seem to only be useful in PvP. If they wanted balance, I should have no issues running any build I want, but instead I’m seeing a lot of the exact same wizards, and WD’s, and DH’s

You faggots need to stop posting those pictures that contain spoilers.

What?

You mean I have absolutely zero motivation to spam Ternion Magic Missile, in light of Forked Lightning Electrocute?

No way… :coffee:

Sent from my HTC Thunderbolt using SRK Technology.

In today’s games that’s still gonna be a problem though. Let’s say for example they didn’t remove the skill trees. People will only flock the forums trying to find the perfect build so that they won’t mess up their characters. Do you think most people will experiment maxing a skill then if it doesn’t work the way they want them to, keep making new characters of that same class and will have the patience to keep trying and trying themselves until they get the perfect build? IMO the biggest change between D2 and D3 is that the internet is more powerful than before. I for sure as hell won’t be motivated to waste 30 hours of my time maxing a skill thinking it was great then when I get raped in Hell or Inferno, make a new one and be happy about it.

Look what happened in D2 when everyone finally figured out what skills were the best, weren’t we seeing the same types of builds and keep doing those Baal runs?

You want to have more fun playing D3? Don’t go to the forums and have fun figuring out the game yourself.

These AH prices are something else. Who the fuck just has hundreds of thousands, or even millions of gold just lying around at level 30? I really didn’t even want to mess with the AH, but I’m halfway through act 3 on NM and all I’m finding is bullshit that I wouldn’t have even looked twice at on normal mode. I thought the loot was supposed to get better?

I found deals on AH, with people offering reasonable buy out, e.g. less than 10k.

I bought my last two weapons, each with a huge improvement to DPS.

Yeah, just keep searching. I just got a 1 handed spear for 15k which has 100+ more dps than my previous one.

Auction House Tip: Sort by Buyout price, then move over pages until you find the ones without a “NA” listed. Find Deals. Watch your DPS go up

Most people charge ridiculous amounts of gold for items. I’d say a really good rare would be worth around 100k. People charging 500k for shit is a bit ridiculous and will probably never sell.

Wizard is pretty fun. I’m also playing very slowly, catching up on every last detail of everything that I can.

I’ll play, as soon as I get a computer that can handle it. My dell has everything but a video card capable of running this game, and I’m just too broke to get a new machine, and of course the laptop can’t be upgraded. -_-

Before I would search for a new weapon and the last result would be ~300dps. Now it’s 633dps. So if you find a Lv60 bow that’s less than 633dps it’s not even worth posting lol.

So right now it’s looking like “Level requirement reduced by 7” is one of the best mods you could find, value-wise. Searching for Lv59 or lower bows, the first result isn’t even 600dps.

Subscription based games have completely changed the landscape of how developers try to profit from their games. No longer are they content with a one time sell of a game, but seek to find clever ways to milk a game for all its worth. MMO games such as World of Warcraft with their subscription based systems that rake in boatloads of money a month are the new standard. Now, we have “E-Bay” in our games as a way for companies to profit. I can assure you that a lot of thought and effort went into this real money auction house feature, because its another way to milk customers. Fuck GREED.

Auction house has good deals, u just have to know how to look

Also, keep an eye out for socketed items. I picked up a helm with a perfect square ruby in it (almost 300k for the gem ALONE), for only 10k

Today I learned about Elective Mode…holy shit, u can equip more than one of each ability??? I could make an ALL MANTRA Monk

hrmmmmm
