Yea they probably are gonna add an enchanter later. They had her planned but they took her out to be reworked. Though I hope I find more equips that modify skills. I only found one for the crit on strafe but dominos said that skill was ass, so it was pining for the fjords.
I personally like the skill system of this game. You still have your multiple skillsets or builds, but you will never have it all at once. Reminds me of GW1 where there’s technically nothing separating you from your opponent of the same class, except the few skills you take into your battle and what gear you have. There’s a shitload of skill combinations in that game and there’s a lot in here too. I can run a ice build, kiting build, whatever but I pretty much would need to exit combat to ever set them, because on hell and inferno the cooldown on setting skills is pretty goddamn long. It’s annoying that once I get a level and want to try out something new, I have to wait a while for each skill I set.
Path of Exile I loved it’s skill system while hated part of it. The gems I like. Even though that leaves you at the mercy of loot drops, I think leveling up through use and slotting them in gear, and chaining them like materia is very cool. Most of your progression would be through this kind of loot actually.
That sphere grid I don’t like at all, and it’s similar in design to something the d3 team was getting rid of. Each level you get a little more powerful, but not significant difference from level to level, unless you go to the gold nodes. Most nodes are just stats and you are left kind of lost of where to go sometimes because you never know when you need a certain stat for an equip, leaving some people wasting points or unable to use gear. Thankfully I was a witch so I just stacked int and I turned out fine. The gold nodes proved better upgrades like more skeletons/zombies to summon and reminded me of a rune effect in a way, though a lot more thought and work to get at. Because if you mess up, you can respec, but it’s point for point and you can buy a point, but it’s expensive within the game’s currency (it’s an item based currency). D3 made it actually pretty nice that at every level you get something significant, like a rune.
I think the whole gem/materia system is worth checking out if you want to just see a different type of character progression, it’s a f2p game so just try to hop on it on a stress test weekend or when open beta comes around.
Despite all of its glaring flaws, I might be compelled to continue playing the game, if they get the goddamned buttons fixed.
Just about every single possible scenario for a left-handed layout is fucked up by their universal unchangeable keys.
Number pad?
Yeah, right… all arrow keys at the bottom are unmappable, as are Enter and 5.
Fucking 5 is unmappable.
In Diablo 2, I could and did remap Enter to Stand-Still, and had Spacebar as Chat.
The main Enter too, is unmappable.
This is maybe something that could be worked around, but for the goddamned ?/ key being unmappable as well.
This really, really fucking sucks.
It forces me to have my hand stretched into the middle of my keyboard to find a semi-manageable solution.
This is uncomfortable.
And dying from bumping Enter/Chat and or not getting to the awkward as fuck placement I am forced to set whichever key to, really, really fucking sucks, too.
It’s over Euros just beat Inferno Diablo with full legendary gear. The game has been completely finished and fleshed out and it’s only been a week. Congrats to Blizzard for making a game that took 11 years but lasts less than a week in total content. Inferno Diablo is really easy too, he just does the same thing as all the other version of himself except hits harder.
Diablo needs those environment damages like the lava room boss which forced you to move around sorta. And tons of minions would be cool too, or a male Diablo also.
And did you beat it in a week? I thought not. Remember how games advertise 40 hours of gameplay? That’s technically less than 2 days worth of content, are those games also shit? We’ll all be happier if you stop posting.
Otherwise for us normal people, I just beat Normal and I have been playing it for 10~11 hours now, total. I also spent more time this week on video games than I have in each of the past 6 months.
Timing your potions and defensive skills are so damn key in this game. As a monk, I hit heavenly breath, then when I see my life free falling I hit 7-sided strike to not get hit, then I hit the potion button. Hopefully by the time I use potion, heavenly breath is finishing its cool down.
lclick: AOE Firebomb (for general mobs)/Slow Dart(for single targets)
rclick: Grasp + 80% slow rune
1: Zombie Dogs + Rune for giving life orbs on death
2: Dog Explosion + Next of Kin Rune
3: Acid Rain + Rune for longer pool duration
4: Gargantuan + Rune for power increase on uniques/mobs
Skills:
Jungle Fortitude: 20% less damage taken
Pierce the Veil: More damage, higher mana costs.
Have 4 dogs
Provides massive AOE with slow for escaping. Basic strat is to let your summons come in, engage the enemy, then slow + acid rain. Explode dogs if necessary. Equipment-wise, go for intelligence, on-hit effects. Crit is nice too to have stronger dog explosions, but it’s not 100% necessary. Personally I go for a regular shield over a snake or a shrunken head since they’re better defensively and can also provide on-hit effects + int, but it’s your call.
as a monk, I have the skill where spending spirit heals me for health. So if I use the big bell, I fully heal. And I can use my normal heal.
This game is seriously over fast, and aside from the first of the three Lords of Hell, the boss battles are very fucking shitty and boring. Diablo just plain SUCKS in this game. He uses a handful of his old attacks, but doesn’t hit as hard as he used to. I seriously can’t recall solo diablo being that easy. The internal team couldn’t beat Inferno? And they turned the difficulty UP?? Wow, who the fuck is your internal team?
I hope they patch and update the living shit out of this game.
Anyone else felt like they were playing out an 80s Saturday morning cartoon with the dialogue and in-game cutscenes? Even reading some of the Lore books where the Evils were ordering their minions to destroy you felt like something out of GI Joe.
