Yeah when I first saw Leoric and Cain, Leoric was spouting some random shit but I couldn’t take him seriously because his voice actor sounded so fucking cheesy.
How the fuck are the VA’s in a game from 1999 better than VA’s in a game from 2012? Then again, Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen has some of the greatest VA’s of all time and that came out in 96 I think.
Don’t bother with magic find until you are 60. Don’t bother with gear hunting at all until you’re 60, for that matter.
The Neph buff gives you 75% mf/gf for free, and it seems you need to reach a certain threshold of mf for it to start affecting bosses.
I have 72 mf natural, which causes asmodan’s drops to be exactly the same as they are when i had 0 mf (real shitty, avg 2-3 blues, sometimes 4)

The skill system is awesome. I don’t have to put points into a tree and wonder what will be good end game, only to fuck it up entirely and re-roll. Yes I know you can respec in D2 now, but that isn’t the point.
Ive found that if you just blast through the game, and only talk to people helping with the quest, and only talk about quest related stuff, you miss like 90% of the actual story.
What I should say is that the plot twists suck, and the voice acting is pretty bad, but the core of the story is pretty okay.
D1 and D2 had great stories, and although I didn’t play them for their story, it made it better. Its not like I’m gonna turn down a female because she has a southern accent (the bad kind), but it would certainly be better if she didn’t.
The Skill System doesn’t provide me much incentive to replaying the game or exploring my character. The current system in Diablo 3 caters to a crowd used to instant gratification. In the short term the system sounds great and wonderful, but offers little longevity. I’ve heard a lot of complaint on items being really boring as well, and I would have to agree. It’s my thought that this is linked with the skill system being the way it is. Why should I care about dex, int, stg, vit attributes on my items if they don’t mean much in the skill system??? Then you factor in the Auction House which really decreases my interest in farming for loot when I can simply buy it… Another instant gratification mechanic.
I can see that, but I found myself changing my skills out every hour or so for something that would better suit my situation. I don’t have everything unlocked yet either, so I’m still enjoying it.
Gear is essentially the same as it was in D2, except instead of looking for + skill you are looking for + stat, which in the end comes out to the exact same thing. More damage. I like that I don’t have to look for gear with +2 to firebomb, or +1 to zombie charger. I can just stack int and increase damage across the board. The stats mean everything.
AH is kind of wack, I’ll give you that. People are trying to sell stuff for half a million gold, when I know damn well the RMAH will completely ruin the in game economy and gold will be useless. Again. However, the RMAH economy will probably be pretty okay.

And I sell shitty rares for 3-5k on the AH, because they will look like deals when compared to the other shit out there.

Hey odin, remember JSP? D3 has killed the site for USWest players. East still gets good numbers, though. I’m trying to unload all of my FG on some decent items before I start up D3, but man, buying/selling shit is so fucking hard on there right now.

Just picked it up and got a monk to 15. Enjoying it so far, I never played D2. Anyone have general monk advice starting out? Also, every public game I join only has one other (usually retarded) person, are not a lot of people playing this?

Oh well. Reth, Bteckz and I did it again yesterday and Diablo was free. Only time I die is when the random mob gets a well placed crit on me One time i was walking behind Reth and Bteckz, thinking they are going to go through a door, they both move aside, and a green magical ball comes flying through hitting me. 1 hit kill on me. Why are wizards so squishy.
Is this game worth getting? I never played Diablo 1 or 2, but I used to play Ragnarok Online. Is there a lot of grinding in this game? I find that I just don’t have the patience to sit down and play games anymore (I’m getting old) and so I usually only play SF in short spurts.
Nope, but I think they’re supposed to. There’s a Diablo 3 GD there, and it has 400 people viewing it at all times, whereas USwest ladder/non ladder are around 50 people viewing instead of the typical 150ish. I wish there was a D3 trade forum up on there though, that would be awesome. Hopefully it gets put up soon.
You should play Diablo 2 if you can. Also, just ask around the thread for a Guest Pass key, someone should be able to hook you up. That should give you a taste of the game to see if you like it or not.

Some of the actual bosses are easy, I am hoping Diablo and crew get a bit beefier after Normal. Regular ass unique mobs are HELLA challenging though. Fire chain, shielded, vampiric. SOOOO fucking hard to solo that shit.

I was playing with Rabbit yesterday and he asked my DPS. I stated it, and his was higher. So i looked into it, and realize I hadn’t equipped any of the shit I had bought from the Auction house (btw save up about 30-40k, and hit up the AH to finish maxing out your character gear!!!) . I equipped my shit, and my DPS went up almost 2x lol
I am a little under 1k DPS now (987.something), before buffs

I’m doing nightmare on multi player (BshidoHEAT#1113 if you guys want to add) and these mob uniques are a pain in the ass now that I’m running with groups.
No they didn’t. Every boss felt like pushing 1 2 3 and 4 while right clicking. They died just as fast as D3 bosses.
