The Tristram background music from Diablo 1 was the most memorable thing in 1 and 2 for me. It was just…so…creepy…

I just noticed how sick temporal flux passive is yo check this ridiculous build out: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#bigRjP!YXU!YcZaYc
Yeah, that with Disintegrate seems legit (all theory). You’re doing a little less damage than with Ray of Cold, but you get a whole different set of runes to chose from. Plus, no enemy resurrections. And I just want to use HVB.
I also wanted to try that strategy with Energy Twister on the same set, though I don’t know if I’d be cutting myself short on elements to use.
Like you said it’s all theory but after watching a lot of wizard beta play one thing is clear: Disintegrate is awesome.
Disintegrate and arcane hydra both get the temporal flux buff which looks like it will compliment slow time really well and since I’m using TF magic missile seems like the obvious choice for signature but shock pulse does 5% less damage while hitting 3 targets and it gives me 2 more arcane per hit so it’s the better choice even though it doesn’t benefit from TF. Also seeing as how disintegrate has no CD and relies on arcane I thought it would be a good idea to use astral presence passive with arcanot and lightning affinity runes to regenerate arcane as fast as possible. If it works out the way it looks, basically this build slows everyone down, and basically has unlimited disintegrate.
With disintegrate do you go with volatility or intensify? that 395% damage bonus is tempting especially with the small chance that the first explosion creates another one creating a 16 meter circle of death but intensify seems like the better consistent choice especially with the slowdown build I’m running I should have plenty of time to get that damage up to 202%.
Also am I the only one who thinks time warp looks like it will clearly be the best rune for time slow? The others don’t really look that practical except for time shell and even that doesn’t look like it’s better then a 20% damage bonus although I guess that depends on how small the bubble ends up being.
I was thinking of running a cold oriented build so I can use the cold blooded passive and get some crazy damage but slightly lower damage with much better CD and enemy slowdown sounds much more powerful. Time warp with glass cannon is already a 35% increase on everything lol. Also we don’t know how good archon will be we can just assume it does a shit ton of damage but the mirror mimics rune for mirror image makes it just way too good to pass up.
I haven’t really looked into characters abilities or builds yet, but is there any class that can go a strong summon pathway like the Necro in D2? I’m pretty much definitely going to be playing a Wizard first, but I generally end up making a summoner alt at some point haha.
lulz max’d the fuck out
I just may have to wait an extra pay cheque. I’ve got a TON of shit I need to pay off over the next while, and just finished paying for my grandmother’s tombstone.
Like I have a problem waiting an extra 2 weeks if necessary, for a game I will likely play for the next decade
Sorry, man.
Lol @ builds.
Unless +skills items are such that the high end ones give massive,* necessary-for-surviving-Inferno*, bonuses*** to specific individual skills***…
…wutbuilds?
You trying to kill my hype?
if you only truly knew the nightmare that is my life, you’d know this was a mere speedbump.
I don’t see this being like other games where there is only one way to make a barb, or sorc or whatever. With all these rune combinations, weapon types, and abilities, there is the potential for tons of different builds, and you wouldn’t even really need to reset points at a specific location. You would just go to your skills, and change some runes/abilities, so each room of a dungeon could potentially be a different trial, and you could switch builds several times PER QUEST.
I think my only problem with the game at this time, is that it’s gonna be hard to figure which people I should be playing with. All my D3 requests through friends/coworkers/amigos, and its only 4 player rooms
My man! points at sig
Fractal is so good.
The only thing I suggest is not getting a rosewill PSU. They aren’t known for their quality. Other than that, your machine is awesome.
Just as a side note, has anyone been reading the little short stories that Blizzard is putting out for each class? I read them all and the Wizard’s yesterday was AWESOME. Actually, they’re all pretty awesome, but the Demon Hunters was… unsettling. Very good, but unsettling.
I enjoyed the WD one a lot, but haven’t read any others. I’ll go back and read em now.
Oh its only gonna be a 4 player party?
I also noticed something in the beta but forgot to ask, you mercenary doesn’t die right? You can’t even give them potions.
Neither can you…*** if*** you are in a party.
Your entire party would have to be wiped out.
Otherwise a member could just revive you a la Borderlands.
I do not like this idea. I hope that there are a limited number of revives in higher difficulties.
What do you mean revive? I did’t play Borderlands so I don’t understand. Also how is the looting system now?
The only acceptable number of times is: Zero.
Agreed. But there are now insta-teleporting banners in town, so even if you died you could immediately come back. Or at best, you’d respawn at the checkpoint, tp, then port to your ally.
It is when your character is down, a party member can run up to them and spend about 5 seconds getting them back to life, whilst the other two party members tank shit.
It sucks.
It better mitigate drop rates.
Or else it is going to go from hella gay, to hell no! gay.
