I found part 1’s atmosphere kind of terrifying at times for it’s style of game.
Maybe it was because we were that young we saw it like that.

I never found D2 scary. In fact, I thought it was pretty silly while giving the outward appearance of being dark and edgy. And that’s part of what gives it a lasting charm for me.
As a corollary to orochizoolander’s question, does Siphoning Blades add Arcane on each hit of Spectral Blades, or is it just for each activation that hits? I never got to try it out, though from the little I’ve seen, it looks kind of like Strange’s Mystic Sword in Marvel 3 (don’t like to be that guy who uses that game as the metric by which to compare everything with, but hey, it fits) and according to Sixmachine, hits a bunch of times.
Also, I was planning on going Barb in the beginning because I also like juggernaut classes, but I had to try out Monk and ended up liking him. I still want to try him out, though. I have a feeling a lot of new players will pass him up because he’s “too boring” or something similar. Then again, a friend will be maining him, so he can tank it out for me.
It sounds like DH isn’t getting much attention.
@Noble Cactus The open beta was only capped at 13 so I couldn’t test that rune out, which I really wanted to do, since it’s pretty fun to try to run builds and such. But yea it hits 3 times and it has a decent aoe so you can hurt a bunch of mobs in front of you. I really want to see how big the slashes get when you get the rune that makes it 20 yards. I want to try a crit build eventually and see if the Wiz can lifesteal back enough health with aspd build, mystic weapon and the blades that get health back per crit. Probably would like to run that build with diamond skin.
@Orochizoolander I really like DH. I felt like they can speed run to Skeleton really fast once they get vault. In the beta, Vault + passive made them so much faster than anyone else, that I had one person say it got boring because I killed everything before he got there. One thing that I seems weird to me is that their 6th slot skill, the archery tree, sounds so normal compared to everyone else, but we’ll have to wait and see how good they are. Every other class seems to have something crazy sounding as a 6th slot, like turning into an archon, summoning the 3 barbs from D2, summoning a giant zombie or fetishes, but DH just has archery skill that sound like they were revamped from the amazon. They could be really good though since you can now move in strafe.

I tried a DH the other day, and wasn’t that impressed. Mind you, I’ll leave my thoughts until AFTER I can level her fully up.
talk to Rabbit. For the most part, you will need a bit of ram (i’d suggest 4-8 gigs at least), and a nice video card. Nothing else really matters, IMHO

The worst part about Duriel was going into his room with a shitty PC with a 5 minute load time. By the time the game was done loading, you’d be dead and all you hear is “LOOKING FOR BAAL?”
The scariest part about D2 was loading into Duriel’s room and being dead before you could even act. 
Same for me except I mostly do Mephisto runs (since my PC cannot handle Lister for Baal runs) and 1 out of 5 times I’ll be hearing “MY BROTHERS HAVE ESCAPEDDDDD YOU” after the “YOU HAVE DIED” message appears.
Sadly that is the most prominent memory I have of D2.

yeah, but you don’t need to go all out. I’m still rocking a VERY basic mobo and processor, and have no issues. Basically make sure you’re above 3ghz, and having more than dual core would be preferable. But lately, I find ram and video cards to be the big drivers of what people are looking for in pc gaming. I have yet to find anything I can’t run on max settings, or that lags me out.
People used to use a nick name for duriel is what i meant. Fist of Heavens was a good PVP build with conviction before lighting absorb came out.
Why do you have so much bad manner(lol) for someone using old diablo 2 terms? A lot of people used the terms baba/soccer/necro/pala/ass etc.
If i’m the only one who did those things, it means you didnt play diablo 2 to the fullest.
Gloams and burning souls still scare me…I could have max resists and still get fried.

Lightning enchanted, very fast… omfg.
I’m sure age played into it, but the overall atmosphere was so much scarier. I remember shitting myself the first time I met the Butcher. I always loved hearing that line after it was imported into Dota for Pudge to say when he ulted.
