Official DBZ: Budokai 3 Thread

I’m gonna try to post a match vid.

I’m a big Kid Buu fan. The 1st Budakai I got into was the 2nd one. I’m disappointed that they weakened him in B3 (his Kamehameha and V Ball don’t do as much damage as before w/o capsules).

I’m still learning how to get better with him. I know a good amount of his cancel combos (Most I’ve done against a human player was 2600 and 3500 against the AI).

Here’s my capsule list I use sometimes.
Vanishing Ball x2
Kamehameha
Potential
Demon Flames
7 Seasoned Toad

This is my offensive setup. At full power attack is at 168%. I’m still trying out other configurations.

I know that Mage Gaurd and Majin Regeneration makes some hella defense. Any other tips yall want to share on Kid Buu?

Budokai 3 was pretty good though I got tired of it quickly even with the new features as I played the first two way too much. I liked the new system of fighting on this game but I did miss some aspects of the first two as far as special moves go. My favorite characters have to be Goku and Vegeta.

I played with Gohan early this morning against Broly. Gohan is actually a lot better than I thought. He hs this one punch that is an instant knoock down and I use it all the time. All I need to know now is if the move is an unblockable.

Any broken characters in the game? Just curious.

And Kid Buu’s Kamehameha and Vanshing Ball is actually weaker in this game? Man, I didn’t even know. Well he’s stll one of my faves.

I just found a really mean combo for Uub…
>PPP<PP*,KKKK-(sidestep),>KKKKK>K-,PP>PP*,<PPP^,PPPPE[Ki Cannon]

After looking, I guess he does the same damage with Breakthrough equipped. I haven’t gotten his breakthrough yet, although I wouldn’t use it anyways.

From what I hear from the other vets, Kid Buu is better off in this game.

He is. It seems that some of his combos connect better…

The game was okay for a couple of weeks before I got bored with it. I’m sticking with game informer’s review. I also know an easy way you can avoid getting hit when someone uses burst mode, just keep side steping until it ends then you can use yours when they run out of energy. It works all the time, even aganist the computer opponents.

Question… How long have you been playing the game?

have you guys seen dbz: sparking! ?.. .

I played it long enough to get every move and character in the game.

I seen it, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be a good game because Bandai is making it. Bandai has done a terrible job with the latest Gundam franchise, so I’m not all that excited.

You’re sticking with game informer’s review? That person who reviewed that has gone no farther than PPPPE. That person does not know about range, nullifiers, priority, character strategies, even combo canceling.
Its very hard to find one negative review of this game where the reviewer does not make him/herself look like crap.

By the way, every high level player (even decent, actually) knows how to dodge somebody in hyper mode. Hyper mode is not even used in any level of serious play, because its cons far outweigh its pros.

By the way, everybody knows that computer players play like utter crap. They never ever cancel a combo. They use hyper mode. They spam TCs at very predictable moments. They don’t use nillifiers. They don’t play a Piccolo like a skilled Piccolo player would.

Thats what I’m talking about, why put something in a game thats never going to be use in serious play.

Its also there for people who don’t take the game seriously.

People actually still play this game?

Yes. People that know how to play it do. :nunchuck: :nunchuck: :nunchuck: :nunchuck: :bgrin:

Exactly.

Damn it, Spralwers. I always seem to miss you by about a week. Don’t tell me you play Piccolo now. God I hate fighting him. I am so stupid against him. I never learn, to this day I’ll still be standing half screen away I’ll just stare at Piccolo while he charges an attack and get smacked by his arm. But anyway, I am too use to slappin nooblers around it’s getting borring, all I wanna do is just play against you and get it done with.
