*Official Borderlands Thread* - Mad Max + 5 Billion Weapons

YES!! :bgrin:

If anyone wants to host a match, I can give them some of my stuff. Basically what i need is to join with one character dump some stuff and join again with another character to pick said stuff up. Ive got some surpluss class mods, guns and elements.

I let my buddy play the game (while I’m on Dragon Age) and he’s hooked lol. I didn’t think this was his type of game, he’s more Dragon Rising or those slower paced FPS but he’s loving it. I’m afraid I won’t ever see my Borderlands again

 dat borderlands is crack.

Eat some Cheetos. :rofl::rofl::rofl:

im 50 game lost its appeal

It ain’t exactly D2 endgame, is it?

Currently going through the first couple of missions of playthrough 2. It’s not so tough yet maybe cause I was 4 or so levels above the average level of enemy(32).

Killing enemies via Phasewalk is so goddamn fun.

Old Haven and everything after that is a mess. After beating the second playthrough though, I agree that the game is losing appeal.

Good news though, DLC comes out on the 24th.

I can’t get over how awesome THE BRICK? is…he’s just the shit and that’s all there is to it, man. I noticed one guy’s head explode from the force of one of my punches the other day… I also have the fire element of course so he also occasionally sets people on fire with those punches. It’s too raw…imagine in real life you punch someone and they burst into flames as a result. This power trip is entirely too fun.

"WHO ELSE WANT SOME OF DEEBO?!" Crushin’ these chumps…they can’t handle it. The Brick? needs his own spinoff franchise.

At just $10/800msp, I do not have high expectations for it… don’t think it’s going to bring back that appeal that was lost when we hit 50.

^ Why do people judge how “good” a DLC wil be cause of how much it will cost? And then they will whine when it’s “too much” -_-

I’m at level 41 or 42 I forget but yeah I went through the Shock Crystal Harvest mission and the game is just throwing ONSLAUGHTS of enemies at me. I’m pretty excited for the DLC though.

Previous experience shows that a $10 DLC named after a place would probably just buy you the namesake island, a few dungeons on it, a handful of sidequests to go with those dungeons, maybe a few hand-written weapons (though they will most likely go unused in favor of something better you got from those 50 old haven chest runs).

And while I’m sure that’s exciting for you and others who haven’t hit 50, done an assload of chest runs to get top-end equipment, and seen how there is absolutely zero end-game content… well, when you do all that stuff yourself, you’ll see what I mean.

I’d gladly pay $60 for a proper expansion that does to Borderlands what D2:LoD did for D2, or for any DLC that gives me new things to do instead of more new and exciting! places to do the same old shit I got tired of before.

Would you pay for six $10 expansions that together equalled a pretty decent sized amount of content? Because it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that it will happen (see Fallout 3 DLC).

You’re just paying for a little at a time.

Also, I would assume loot drops won’t be hand written. They probably have a chunk of a couple hundred thousand weapons already being held out of the game for the expansions.

They’ll just slowly introduce them into the DLC.

Well yeah, by hand-written weapons, I meant weapons like Krom’s Sidearm and Sledge’s Shotty.

I’d really much rather just wait for all of that content to be released at once, rather than bit by bit. It would be like the game was released all over again… people get hyped, they stay up for midnight release, they call in sick and throw two-day parties to play the game. Smaller updates just don’t generate that level of excitement.

Unfortunately the Internet disagrees or is impatient, and by the time the DLC is complete, everyone else will have already downloaded and gone through most of it :looney:

bolded

and i think the hand written weapons suck. only sledge’s shotgun was any worth and i found a shotty soon after that was better anyways. they just dont do enough dmg, not enough elemental proc, and not too useful properties like ricochet.

Yeah, in a way I don’t disagree with you.

But I’m sure they’ll release it as a game of the year, and as long as you have a couple of friends who don’t get it you’ll have someone to play with.

Plus it will also be motivation to get your guy leveled up, because I wouldn’t be surprised if the sequel allowed you to bring your character and level over.

My guess is that the DLC will really be targeted at multiplayer gamers who are looking for that new challenge. I assume there will be some awesome high leveled stuff, maybe a couple new suffixes/prefixes. I can’t imagine it will really breath life into the single player campaign, I mean blast your way through a few hordes… Sell loot. Blast an over sized zombie…Sell more loot. Maybe a survival mode or something?
It would be nice to see them raise the level cap (or give out skill points as rewards)…maybe make it so more powerful undead versions of enemies come out at night. A bank would be useful too (where you can give items to other characters). I also wouldn’t mind seeing some kind of “training ground” where you can just shoot your way through waves of never ending enemies, just to level up or kill time. Going from playthrough 2 characters to brand new ones is surprisingly tedious. So much time just to get your basic stuff like shields, grenades and your skill. I’d love it if I could bypass that by just by shooting my way through a few hundred zombies.

Whats up with the “xenophobe” reward?(or is it dominant species?) How do you kill 2500 guardians? That must require an obscene amount of end area farming. My favorite is " School Bus driver" makes me lul.

I’m almost at level 50 with my Siren. I want to do another play through of the main campaign but who should I use? I’m torn between Roland and Brick.

just use brick :S . roland is kinda so-so unless if he got a good mod .

Question , how da hell am i going to do to beat the SKADZILLA WITH ROLAND !? , i’m still at level 20 . i think the only way is to skip this quest . maybe i shouldn’t had sold my SLEDGE’S shotgun !!

the 1st scavenging quest is fucktup , 1 part of the items is stucked and i can’t get it .

Just level him up Skaqzilla isn’t too tough he just has a FUCKTON of health.
