I knew about Ashley being high tier, I didn’t know about Cedric until recently reading around this thread.
I used to be concerned with high/low tier when I got into fighting games long ago. I found that it hindered enjoying a lot of games I would play. I wouldn’t play a certain team or character because they were high tier. High tier doesn’t automatically guarantee a win. I’ve seen players pick high tier characters and not even grasp (or execute) 99% of what that character/s are capable of.
Obviously low tiers have to work harder, but I have the same respect for players that win with high tier as players who play low tier.
Who knows maybe I’ll get bored of Ashley/Cedric and I’ll try out more of the other characters.
bleh. I disagree, but its all good. Me personally, I would rather them say, “Holy crap your Q is awesome, good job at that tournament” versus “Good job at the tournament. Nice Yun”…
I don’t think there’s nothing to prove. Well at least for me, I’m not trying to prove anything. In all honesty, I really do just enjoy looking up the lower end of the tiers and playing those characters.
I don’t have anything against top tiers at all nor do I think there’s anything wrong with them. Infact, my favorite matchups are against top tiers.
You may find it silly that people choose them for no other reason than because they’re low. I rather enjoy the lower tiers just because they are. It’s just an affinity for low tiers is all.
Don’t get me wrong, picking “unplayble” characters is a different thing xD
(For example, those “beat’em up” characters in GGIsuka, but I think they were console exclusive anyway)
Infact, from time to time, I’ll tinker with a top or even god tier character from time to time… Not that I’m ashamed, trying to prove anything, and/or otherwise, but I just like 'em low :wgrin:
But that’s just me >.>
Actually, I find SAIII Yun players to be pretty impressive. Genei Jin takes practice, rather I find that it takes practice xP
(Not that I disagree with you or anything).
In the matter of tiers and to keep the subject on topic:
I was just told a few posts ago that the tiers don’t matter to much in BF. So I’m not too sure if it should be a concern too much for this game.
So…did you guys know that DeathBringer can juggle with a 623A after an upgraded 623C? There is only 1-2 frames that it is able to hit. Also, it doesn’t work if you juggle into the upgraded 623C.
In the corner, you can link a 41236B to an upgraded 623C (you cannot follow this up with a 623A). You can however cancel an upgraded 623C into 236236A/C.
Quick question… Do you know how to level up Watson’s moves?
It’s unclear to me because I have to deal with playing whenever my friend brings his 360 and copy of BF and doesn’t have a handbook >.>
Yeah. Hit the opponent with a C attack. Standing, crouching, or jumping (any move where he makes a blue animal). After 3 hits you will level up once. He can level up twice. If you get knocked down then you will lose a level (not if you recover by using the gatchi button).
just played two guys with brand new win records, and they were probably the best two guys i’ve played online so far. one was mighty something or other, had a good ashley. obviously has had a lot of previous experience with the game. had some cool tricks with romance wing that i hadn’t seen before, but never managed to combo off of the first one. i blame online play
the other was johnson something or other, had a very solid coyori
lol I played this game with a couple of friends and it’s an awesome game but I don’t know who to main. I was looking at Ashley and Face in particular though. Any suggestion?
Who ever your comfortable with.
There are only 3 characters in the game I’ll never play as. Cedric (The gay guy), Ashley (The other gay guy), and Coyori (not my style)… Funny how they just so happen to be top tier >.<
it’s apparent that he’s either had experience with the arcade version of the game, or he plays at home on original mode with his friends. he tried to do ashley infinite like 3 times, and didn’t seem to know what to do when it didn’t work
but yeah his ping to me was only 30 so he’s definitely local
he also has a strange habit of always doing high gachi drive on wakeup, but i guess if you’re used to getting an infinite off of that, it makes more sense
i got lucky, random select gave me a bunch of characters that don’t match up too badly against ashley
uh my experience is the opposite. the netcode is pretty damn good imo, i got like ~41 ping against people i played. that would be like a “5 bar” connection in SC4 and pretty much everyone will tell you that ranges from “okay” to “shit”, but in BF i didnt notice anything weird with my inputs or the frame data being strange.
just out of curiosity what are the matchups like in this game?
i wonder if he posts here, my impression is that he reads these forums at least. hes good at vf5 too
anyways im going to try adding more people and getting games in over the weekend.
I’m really considering this game but there are few things that have me worried. I was wondering does it play like SBX because I had high hopes for that game but it turned out to be really boring and had close to zero replay for me, the same thing happened with Arcana Hearts as well, fun at first but quickly waned to boredom. I currently only have XBL Silver and don’t plan on getting a gold account anytime soon so will this have a major affect on the longevity of the game for me? The game looks awesome and from what I’m hearing on the board plays great but I will be playing the computer for the most part at home and don’t want to grow tired of the game after a week or two.
There are 2 videos where the first one is in high quality but has some scanlines while the second video is in normal quality. I wasn’t sure how to do the zoom on face so this is the best I could do for now.
