Official AXISdapter Thread: SIXAXIS/DS3 Hacking Made Easy (ONLY PACK A avail)

Alright kinda nervous to cut the traces on the pcb but going to try and do it today. Hope you’re right toodles!

Can anyone tell me which one is the ground? This is the start and select pcb for a SE.
Start is on the right and select on the left. Not sure how to connect it to the axisdpater. Thanks

ShinJN, I’m looking to get one of your assembled axisadapters please send me a messege or I’ll send you one when i get up to 5 posts.:lovin:

Oh btw Toodles the cutting the trace and soldering was a bitch… well atleast for me. I couldn’t solder the bottom point on your picture. So I hot glues the wire insulation down close to the circle are and had about a quarter inch of wire extended to that circle area where the button is suppose to go.
I tested it and everything and it works… my ghetto style.

Thanks again Toodles and Shinjn for the help.

I’ll post pictures of my finish stick once my usb adapter comes in.

I attempted to search this thread but I spent my one search on finding the thread itself.

Is there any lag with using something like this? I would love to make my VSHG wireless and this would be the simplest solution. Thanks for any info.

I don’t think their would be any lag. It’s just an extension of the SIXAXIS controller, so if there is any lag, it would be the same as the SIXAXIS controller.

I gotcha. That makes sense. This may not be the place to ask this but is there any lag with the sixaxis? I haven’t played any games where lag would really matter or be noticeable with a sixaxis. Only with wired sticks. Believe me I’d be more than happy to search out this info if I could.

Doesn’t look like any of the four points are connected. This means you can use any two and make them a “common” ground.

Toodles has done tests that show there are no lag issues with SIXAXIS and 360 wireless controllers. Another user on here has modded his VSHG with a SIXAXIS and AXISdapter. It’s in this thread somewhere.

Thanks ShinJn I just winged it and plugged them in and it worked. Looking to get some pictures up for other who are looking to mod their SE.

I have no noticable lag, but if you want specific comments and tests, check out gns’ commentand Toodles’ tests.

In practice, everything is roses - save for those annoying times that the SIXAXIS chooses not to behave. I can play flawlessly on my AXISdapter’ed stick from about 8-9 feet away at my place, but I bring it over to my buddies house (PS3 and controllers) and sometimes, the controller likes to act up. It’s rare, but I tend to lose rounds when that happens. But this is a problem that the SIXAXIS has had from the start - not something with the AXISdapter.

hi… I’m marco, i’m new here. I live in Italy and i’m searching an AXISdapter… is the same of this photo… do you know some website where i can buy it (and it can be delivered in italy)? please I really need it… (sorry for my english mistakes… )
:karate:

oh sorry! XD i’ve just read that you sell it! (i followed a link) XD can I order one? you deliver to italy?

K finished my SE with axisdapter heres the inside!

lol. You figured out what the hole was for. The hole is off by a few millimeters so I never mentioned what it was for. My measurements were off so the hole is kind of pointless when used on some versions of the SIXAXIS PCB. Using the hole isn’t all that great because the board may cause he left analog stick to move, causing unnecessary movement.

Yea I found out about the movement issue the hard way :stuck_out_tongue: I just clipped the zip tip really, but it’s still snug on there.
Didn’t know why my character was constantly crouching haha… I thought it was faulty wiring at first.
I wonder if you’re about to disable the joystick without losing the directional function.

What is the recommended AWG wire size to hook up the buttons and everything to the AXISdapter?

i used 22awg

16-26 works fine in the screw terminals

What kind of usb cable/adapter is that connected to the end of the usb A male end?
