Official AXISdapter Thread: SIXAXIS/DS3 Hacking Made Easy (ONLY PACK A avail)

doesnt only one adaptor work for the sixaxis usb? (without axisadapter)

im buying this one :

yea any usb adapter will work, i just wanted mine to be flush with the case and i wanted it to be mini USB so i can still use the same cable from the DS3

Thanks the-red-comet.

Yea thanks man.

does anyone know how to add the rapidfire funtion from the hori fs3 to this pcb?

Did anyone mod their SE or TE with this?

That will not work; the turbo features only work on the actual Hori PCB.

Had this question come up I think others would want to know as well.
Iā€™m not too hip on the inner workings of the PS3 version of the SE and TE sticks. I only know the 360 ones because thatā€™s all Iā€™ve seen; I dont need another PS3 pcb  So please take with a grain of salt and look over your ps3 stick in case Iā€™ve missed something. From what I understand, the wires from the stick, and the ribbon cables from the distribution block all go to the PCB under the turbo button.

  1. Remove the L1 and L2 wires from the distribution block. Snip off the QDā€™s at the ends opposite where it connects to the button, and strip a little insulation off. One of the L1 wires goes into the L1 terminal on teh axisdapter. One of the L2 wires goes into the L2 terminal. The other two wires BOTH go into the ā€˜LCOMā€™, the common terminal for the Lā€™s and the dpad.
  2. Clip the stick wires close to where they go into the PCB, strip the insulation, and put them into the matching direction terminals and the LCOM, with the common wires from the L buttons.
  3. Use the ribbon cable connecting the distribution block to the ā€˜turboā€™ pcb. Cut the end off, separate them into the 11 individual wires, and put each one in its matching place; the button (R1, R2, four face buttons, start and select) wires each go to their matching terminal. The one originally used for GND goes into the RCOM terminal; the COM terminal meant for the face buttons and R buttons. Yes, it may seem weird doing that for start and select, but it works.
  4. Home/PS button is the hard part. Youā€™ll have to find spots on both sides of the PS button and solder wires to it, so they are connected to the two halves of the spot under the button but NOT directly underneath; you need the button still working. Someone will have to scan in that pcb if Iā€™m going to be able to get any more specific than that. Run those two wires to the PS terminal and the RCOM terminal.
  5. Mount and install a USB jack in the case, or desolder the USB jack from the sixaxis board and solder the existing USB cable there.

Alright here are some pictures of the SE pcb hope this helps. My problem is what is the ā€œ[ ]ā€ and ā€œ^ā€ one is probably the turbo and the other is the home button but I donā€™t know how to tell.

Which is the best battery to get for the Ps3 as well as the converters??? I need the link as well. I saw different ones which is the best in all of yours opinions. Thanks for the help.

This looks great, cant wait to get one

Thanks dude! I just got mine today. Now to find a parts supplier thatā€™s not out of stockā€¦

originally i wanted to wireless my SE but i could figure out the home button either, everything is marked but the damn home button

Haha yea thats so weird amyone know what "[ ] " and ā€œ^ā€ means?

Square and triangle, at a guess

Cut and the red. One of the wires can go to that exposed test point, the other one youā€™ll have to scrape a little. Thereā€™s probably a way to do it so the lock will still work, but I dont think I could help with that without it in my hand.

Alright so the blue lines are to connect to the axisdapter. One goes to the Rcom terminal and one to the ps terminal? Does it matter which one to which? Iā€™m assuming you want the solder point to be in between both the lines also.

everyone buy this and a sparkfun battery. then play. then buy another one.

Thatā€™s the wrong adapter, itā€™s suppose to be mini-usb.

I think itā€™ll still work if he has the cable to connect to it.

did anyone else have the problem with the sparkfun battery having the wires reversed?
