Wow, shipped already - awesome! Adapters for Germany I will post again when they arrive, I’m curious about the length of shipping time.
Ugh… updated first post with fees for international credit/debit payers. 3.9% + $0.30. I was wondering why they took more than 2.9%
Also added new version of welcome doc.
Ok, so my new screw terminals won’t be in till Monday. There was a mixup with shipping options and I ended up getting the slow ground shipping. =(
Please wait till the weekend or Monday to send payment. Once the terminals come in, I will haul ass to get them soldered and shipped out Wednesday, March 11. Those waiting will like the new screw terminals. Guaranteed.
Price for Package A is now $14
I forgot to post feedback after receiving mine. I haven’t had a chance to put it to use since I used all of my Sanwa stuff for my SE Fightstick, but I’ll be ordering in a week or so and I’ll confirm that it works after that. Received it after paying though!
Hey guys,
I have a question. I want to put a sixaxis in my TE to make it wireless but I also want to keep my turbo functionality. Can it be wired so that the turbo pcb is wired to the sixaxis adapter board. If I can’t keep the turbo functionality with a sixaxis then there is no need to cut a piece of custom plexi with the “turbo box” in mind. I would just need to drill a hole where the home button is.
ShinJN, I thought I heard you say in one of your youtube videos that you were going to throw a sixaxis in one of your TEs. If so, how are you keeping your turbo functions? Any help would be appreciated as I need an answer before I cut my custom plexi. Thanks.
Hope you find enjoyment out of it like the others here. =D
I don’t intend on keeping turbo functionality. I never use it anyway. Turbo is part of the mad catz PCB and is not a standalone device. =(
Hey ShinJN, Should I just cover up the turbo stuff with art and just drill a small hole where the home button is? If turbo is not going to be used then what is the point of showing the turbo buttons. More room for art.
Pics
Anyone have more detailed pics of their AXISdapter mounted in a stick? Trying to get additional ideas of where to mount it, as well as creating an opening for attaching the usb cable to charge.
Man, can’t wait to get mine and test it out! Please let me know if any of you have pics, I’d love to see what y’all have come up with as far as mounting options. Thanks!
Hey Polo,
On page 13 of this thread you can see some pics of what I did with my
sixaxisadapter board. It is sitting inside a VSHG. If you do a battery
upgrade, you may have to get create on your placement. I also have that
same VSHG in the I love my custom stick thread. It shows some pics of the USB
panel mount I installed in the front. It’s a neutrik usb panel mount.
Does anyone here know what to do about the rumble motors on
the dualshock 3’s that have the 20 pin connector? Can I
just cut the wires and discard the motors?
Also, does anyone know if a flash joystick can be powered by
a sixaxis?
Thanks Jay! That was really helpful, I think I may utilize the same idea you have and use that usb mount…it looks really good!
I believe SF4 has rumble feature. I plan to extend the wires and re-solder them back to the PCB, then mount them in my sticks
I’ll toss up a pic once mine is mounted. Right now it’s “floating” inside my stick. I’m still trying to find a way to screw mount the SIXAXIS PCB to the chassis, but I haven’t found the proper screw for it. ShinJN offered a suggestion that I may have to go with since it’s proven relatively difficult to fine PCB feet locally.
The only other thing to note is that I’ve got a NubyTech Street Fighter Anniversary Stick - and those things have a ton of space inside.
Do check out ShinJN’s “The Bear.” That is a work of beauty - craftsmanship that would make an OCD guy jealous: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=5890858&postcount=6738

I want to order one, any idea when will the new batch be ready for ship?
You also have to consider the height of the control module. It sits higher than the top panel so you’re going to have to think of a clever way to do it. What you can do with the control module is do a pseudo LED mod where each button press makes one of the turbo lights turn on. lol.
The problem with the SIXAXIS/DS3 PCB is that the screw holes aren’t large enough to fit standard 4-40 screws. What I would do is grab two of these, http://cableorganizer.com/adhesive-base/, and use zip ties to secure the PCB using the two holes where the battery holder clips go. If you want to use the battery clips, you can use zip ties that fit the two screw holes on the PCB.
For the AXISdapter, instead of using dedicated PCB feet, use LEGOs! I have this awesome protip in my dual mod video. If you go to Lego.com and search for “round brick” in their pick-a-brick section, you will see what I use to mount my PCBs in wood cases. I use it for t he PCBs in The Bear joystick.
I bought my NAUSBs from markertek and they are awesome.
You can cut the motors and discard them if you want. I did with the old dualshock 1 PCBs when I wired them back in the days.
Do it!
lol. Thank you =D
I’ve finally managed to mount the SIXAXIS and AXISdapter into my 15th Anniversary stick. It’s still got the Happ knockoff parts in there as I’m waiting for an order (I won’t say with whom, but I’m sure most of you on SRK can take an educated guess) before I replace them.
Two things to note…I found hardware that would allow me to screw the PCB to the chassis - a screw long enough AND skinny enough to fit into the SIXAXIS pcb holes. I found a solution to let me know when the controller is on since the bottom of the stick is made of MDF.
I’ll post a pic when I find my portable drive. I nabbed it off the camera and then misplaced my drive where I stored the pics.
Well, testing Toodle’s AXISdapter, I’ve found a problem which I’m unsure of the source.
It works fine whenever I turn on the PS3 and have the AXISdapter not connected, synced, and wireless. However, after I plug it in, then unplug it from the PS3, the square, triangle, and r1 buttons don’t respond (neither in game or XMB). However, when I plug the USB cable back, they respond fine again. It’s not until I restart the system do these buttons work again.
My setup is the following:
80gb PS3 (newer non-BC)
Sixaxis PCB (non DS3)
Toodle’s AXISdapter
Connections are composed of 1 foot mini B to male usb and female to male usb extension.
I also daisy chained the buttons to their respective grounds. And the boards are secured by lots of electrical tape.
I unfortunately did not test this prior with the Sixaxis in it’s default housing.
Has anyone else ever experienced this problem?
I guess for now, I’ll have to use wireless when it’s fully charged.
edit: tried the same thing when charging with another USB slot on my pc, same thing happened.
edit2: ok, I think the problem is gone. Just tried it one more time after hard resetting my my USB hub and wiping some weird residue from my case. I’l report back here if I can reduplicate the problem, but I hope I don’t as well.
Big thanks to ShinJN and Toodles for making these great products.
I just ordered a kit and haven’t put my hands on it yet, but I have similar problem with my old stick using the sixaxis by soldering and two 8.2k resistors are used. The stick works fine for a while and then goes crazy, select and L2 in my case.
ShinJN’s AXISdapter in a NubyTech 15th Anniversary Stick
Here’s my setup for ShinJN’s board in my Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Arcade Stick.

Click for a bigger version. Don’t mind the wiring either. This thing still has the Bao-Lian (Happ knockoff) guts still inside - just waiting for the parts.
Awesomeness, thanks for posting pics up Jizzmirk. And thanks ShinJN for the suggestions!
I just got my AXISdapter this weekend and it looks SWEEEEEEET! Thanks again ShinJN! Can’t wait to put this baby to use after I finish my case!
Btw ShinJN, that Bear case looks beautiful lol. Cleanest freaking job ever…and yes I was extrememly jealous because I have slight OCD as well haha.
Just wondering, are you selling any of those LED light board things for the led mod? I’d definitely be interested. =)
