ShinJN, I’d like to get on the wait list for 1 (C version). I tried to PM, but I don’t have the post count to send PMs to members.

Thanks,

Toodles’ Axisdapter

Hey Toodles,

I was wondering with yours and ShinJN’s boards, what are my options if I want to drop a Sixaxis PCB and Axisdapter into a 15th Anniversary Street Fighter arcade stick? There’s only a Select and Start button. Is the board set up like the Cthuhlu board in that pressing Select and Start acts as the Home button?

-J

There’s not much of any setup of any kind on the boards themselves; it just makes the points on the board easier to get to. Because the sixaxis itself doesn’t read Start+Select as Home, there’s not a way to get it to work that way. You’ll either have to do without a Select, or just drill another hole; 30 seconds with a 1 1/8" drill and you’re done.

grrr they should just make every controller with the same internal ribbon interface or pin out field.

Not to sound stupid, but this would enable any PS3 compatible stick to have bluetooth wireless right?

Nope. This board is meant to be used with a SIXAXIS PCB. If you use the SIXAXIS PCB, then yes, you have bluetooth wireless. The AXISdapter board does not have any bluetooth components. It is only an extension of the 20 pin connector on the PCB.

k so that was worded kinda funny…can we get wireless stick or not with this thing?

Yes you can. Think of it this way.

“I want to have a wireless PS3 joystick. Oh, look, I have a SIXAXIS controller I can hack. This will definitely work. Oh shit, this thing is hard as hell to solder. I wish I had something to make it easier. Oh wait, I can just get ShinJN’s AXISdapter so I don’t have to solder anything. Yay!”

if yous gots a PS trey wireless pad, use dis mofo to make dat shit work noice.

So, I’m curious to anyone who has done this. Any significant lag when playing with a stick wireless? I don’t notice any lag when playing with my controller.

I’m not sure who, but someone on this forum tested the latency of the Sixaxis and 360 controller (Edit: Aaah, no, I just remembered it was the Sixaxis PCB vs. the Cthulhu board). I think the result was 0 to 1ms of lag (edit: So there was no difference between wired and wireless).

I think it might’ve been Toodles who tested this, but I’m not sure (edit: That makes me sure now that it was Toodles).

Nice, I may just do this. Be nice to have a bluetooth arcade worthy joystick since I have a sixaxis controller lying around (already have 4 dual shocks). Can you still keep the USB capabilites?

I’m assuming that you’ll totally be able to do that. My idea was to have a short extension cable from the Sixaxis USB thingy to the outside of the box. Then I can plug in the standard USB charge cable. I’m sure that with a little workmanship, you’d be able to create a spiffy looking USB connection in your casing. :wgrin:
