Hmm…is it worth it to mod the TE stick to wireless when it arrives?..
I’ll be modding one of my TEs to wireless when it arrives. =D
LOL thats awesome. I was actually thinking about doing the same thing but I didn’t have a joystick to use. I’m just waiting on my JLF and buttons from Akiharbarshop (which should be here next week) so I’ll hopefully have it up and running next weekend.
I just finished my VSHG mod using the sixaxisadapter!
check it out in the I love my custom gallery. I will post
pics of the inside here once I complete the battery upgrade.:wgrin:
Thanks for taking the chance; I can’t wait to see the results, and hope I won’t have let you down.
I figure it’s worth a shot. Worst case -$20.:arazz:
Read through the instructables and it seems to be very clear. The pictures are clear enough to verify each step as well.
Appreciated. I know I need to improve the Wiring step to include pictures of some stick wiring (one with a 5 pin connector, another for when the common has to be daisy chained). I also need to add a finishing touches page to mention the USB connection for recharging, and a caveat page in the beginning to mention the bad DS3 version, lack of support for powered sticks, and no dual pcb mods. I feel good about the soldering/assembly portions, but the wiring and finished touches could use some fleshing out. Im open to any input on that.
Could someone give me a link to that? That info would be nice to see.
Check my sig; its also in post #280 of this thread (very end of last page for my settings)
It was right under my nose the entire time!:looney: Thanks Toodles.
Mine Is Up And Runing in my street fighter 15th anniversary stick… works amazingly good… thank you ShinJN…
Hello! I got a couple of questions.
-
I got a Hrap 3, will it work?
-
Is the soldering job easy? i dont have a solder gun or thing…pen…wutever? can a newb do it?
-
How would i charge the stick? i understand that i have to take the battery out of the sixaxis and put it in the stick?
-
Would I still be able to have a usb cord? or is that completely removed? can i still plug it in the pc and play?
Thank you. Im really interested in getting one. and sorry if these questions have been answered.
-
Do you plan on replacing the HRAP 3 PCB?
-
Soldering is easy, but you will need a soldering iron
-
You can either have the charge cable coming out of the case itself or mount a USB connector on your case (this will require modifying your case)
-
If you have the USB cable coming out of your case, you can use the SIXAXIS if you have the drivers. I do not know much about that.

DSlayerZX - I sent your SIXAXIS board. All tested and good to go.
alright, thank you.
now… the cable and board should arrive at around the same time… but I have two mid term next week =_= hope I do not get too distracted
I need another sixaxisadapter board. Does ShinJN or Toodles have
any completed (pre-soldered) boards available? Also, if one were
to upgrade the battery would the sixaxis pcb have enough juice to
power an Kaytrim 6 button LED board? :wonder:
Did you break yours? I can sell you another one if you need. It’ll be my personal one that I used twice.
The LED mod requires a common ground PCB, which the SIXAXIS is not. Though now that I think about it, if there are four different grounds, what if you only used the ground relevant to the buttons you need? In theory it might just work. Though it might drain the battery just a bit faster. Hmmm… interesting.
No I didn’t break the one I have in my VSHG. I have a finkle stick on the
way and I want to throw one in there. I figured if you upgrade the sixaxis battery to 3x the capacity, LEDs would be doable. As far as common grounds go. I think like you said, just wire the LEDs to the 6 buttons I need. L1 and R1 are the two buttons that have different grounds but with the adapter board, it shouldn’t be an issue any more right? How cool would it be to have a wireless stick with LEDs?:wgrin:
